That actually makes sense (in the summer) as the fridge would be cooler than the rest of the house, so mold would take a lot longer to develop.Dags90 said:I recently moved my peanut butter into the refrigerator after a heatwave. I took it out of the cabin one time and it was all liquidy, not cool.wynnsora said:I keep my ketchup in the fridge, and as far as I know back when my grandparents lived up north they kept their peanut butter in there too. From what they've told me, it was because if they put it in the cabinet during the winter, it'd freeze.
One weird thing is that our tenant puts his bread in the refrigerator. Worse yet, he put my bread in the refrigerator. He even went so far as to suggest that it wasn't him, even though he's the only person in the house who does such silliness.
But does anyone need that much time to go through a loaf of bread? As it is, the biggest thing for keeping a loaf of bread is moisture. Too little and it'll stale, too much and you get mold.Becoming Insane said:That actually makes sense (in the summer) as the fridge would be cooler than the rest of the house, so mold would take a lot longer to develop.
Ketchup will eventually go off, but it can take awhile. You just have to make sure that it's sealed properly, like everything else.Xeros said:So my friend comes over earlier, and as I'm making us some sandwiches, he inquires as to where I keep my ketchup, to which I reply "In the fridge". Suddenly he flips the fuck out like it's some mortal sin to keep the ketchup in the fridge. This also isn't the first time one of my friends has asked me in a very complaining tone why I keep my ketchup in the fridge. It's very simple, I like my ketchup cold. In fact, I like a lot of my condiments cold. Ketchup, mustard, certain flavors of barbecue sauce, all in the fridge.
So, where do you keep your condiments, most specifically your ketchup, and why?
Ketchup doesn't need refrigeration to not go bad, but it can lose some flavour if left un-refrigerated and opening for a week or two.Pielikey said:Ketchup goes bad if you don't keep it in the fridge, so I keep it there.
