Fair enough. However, the difference between a technique... Or are they called manouvers? I don't know, but I did know something was wrong with a key word and spent five minutes in wikipedia and youtube to make sure I was moderately informed. At any rate the difference between a technique/manouver with a very high risk of seriously injuring or killing your opponent with one that has a very low risk is actually significant. I was singling you out because you were the last poster, but as you say, you are only as ignorant as everyone else.

I can't help but to wonder however; Would you consider it insignificant if, say, a group of peaceful protesters were fired on with live ammo, or rubber bullets?
I'd call that significant.

As yet another someone who was bullied as a kid, a round of applause for showing the little rat what consequences are.

Having had a similar thing done to me (i was playfighting, not trying to beat somebody up) I can say that the thing that hurts most is the feet. The impact is huge when your feet smack onto the ground. If you look at the kid he keeps on bending down and feeling his feet.

Little shit had it coming anyway.

Just read this hilarious article about it. http://encyclopediadramatica.com/The_casey

I also like the bit at the end where the guy holding the camera goes "are you alright" and the little shit whimpers "no-o-o-o". Yes I'm cruel hearted.

So we're celebrating and praising a kid for pile-driving a smaller kid into the ground?
No. We are praising self-defense. Notice that after a bully got thrown on the ground, that kid just walked away, while he could beat him up some more. I respect him for that.

Takes a lot of selfcontrol to do that instead of just mashing him.

The bully could have been dropped onto his head, which could have potentially fatal, that is the point, whether it's a pile drive or bodyslam is irrelevant.

Still, he could have killed the kid if he had dropped him on his head. Responding to a violent person with more violence is natural, but it's not necessary. If Casey didn't retaliate and the video made it onto the internet, then the bully would have no doubt been expelled and his friends suspended.

Alright no, this is not alright.

We all want to stand up to bullies, and a good punch to the face would have been great, but this could have literally killed the guy if he landed just a little bit differently.

It is sheer luck this didn't become a story about a murder, so no, it's not alright, I sympathize with the kid, and I do think he should have retaliated, but we shouldn't be praising him for using force that could have easily been lethal.

Cynically speaking, it's one way of solving a problem.

you were never bullied were you?
if you were you would know that this does NOT stop till you make them. the system in place doesnt work these kids would probily have said he started it and the teachers would have beleaved them due to the fact there are more of them.

i aggree that this could have gone bad but if he had killed the prick (and yes he is a prick) it would have been manslauter in self defense. Now if this would of happened it would of been tragic that a kid who was bullied killed someone when he didnt mean to but to be fair had it happened it was his own fault and while tragic would have been fully suported by my slef and most people i know.

I never said pain isn't a way to learn things, I just said it's not the best way to learn things.
Ha, Pain IS the best way to learn things.
I've seen a lot of people being said that they needed to remove powder from the floor. And that in a hundred of different ways. (I work at a milkpowderfactory.) Even when warned with being fired if they didnt.
And still they didn't clean behind them.

That was until they saw what a powder explosion does to everything they started cleaning.
So if you want people to remember to do something you need to let them see/experience that if they don't it hurts.

Thats also the case with bullies. And everyone thats ever been bullied will understand that.

SNIP
Actually, I've been bullied since the start of middle school, it's only really this year that they stopped. Most of them aren't necessarily bad people, they're just not very understanding or smart people...

Like I said, I have been bullied, and the kid who got dropped to the ground didn't in that video. He got up, walked to the camera while smiling and laughing with his friends. He didn't learn anything.

So bullying means you deserve to get murdered? You'd support murder in response to bullying? Seriously?

I get that capital punishment is a hot debate recently, but capital punishment for schoolyard bullying isn't a debate that anyone is having.

I think you need to get your priorities straight, do you want to live in a world where someone is justified to murder a school bully?

It would certainly cut down on the bullying.
