Fallout 3 got a 100/100 from whatever.

Is it a perfect game? No.

Reviews=pointless dribble. The true reviews come from the people that actually bought the game to have fun and not to do a job.

Stalin vs Martians is a fun arcade RTS game and thats what it is.

If your gaming life is ruled by reviews you have the 360/PS3 games with plenty of them god like games.
Yup you're trolling.

So only positive reviews count huh? Look I played Fallout 3, I bought it before any reviews were out, and I've already given my thoughts on it.

Go back under your bridge now, please.
I think you the one fooling yourself.

You seem to be waiting for the 2nd coming of PC gaming. The only thing going for PC's is MMO's, Casual games and RTS.

So start saving for a 360 or PS3, or just stop playing games, cause whatever you waiting for is not going to happen.

theres tons of awesome pc games. your just a consoler.
Oh really? Clue me in oh gaming Guru, what PC games have been released since the start of 2009 that are worth actually buying?
killing floor, plants vs zombies, demigod, battleforge, H.A.W.X and The Last Remnant¨.
Demigod is a dumbed down acrade death match game, only worth buying if you want a game that will hardly last you a weekend. The Last Remnant I'll definately try, as for the others you mentioned, I know nothing of Killing Floor and the rest are simply not my thing, or they count as part of this dumbed down trend of short and shallow games with limited or no replay value that I've been going on about in previous posts.

You mean Casual Games and MMOs, RTS games seem to be dead too. I'm not waiting for a second comming of gaming, I made this thread hoping some deep and meaningful game experience had simply slipped under my radar. Now this thread has turned into repeated confirmation that PC gaming has become increasingly short and shallow, dumbed down, and mediocre.

No MMO's, Casual games and RTS's is the only thing left on PC gaming.

Also if you think that PC gaming is short/shallow/dumbed down and mediocre...you better not play any console game of this generation. Your brain might explode.

What RTS games? Stalin and Martians? Dawn of War 2 hardly even counts as an RTS game and all the ones since Warcraft 3 (Armies of Exigo?) have been kind of crappy.

Hey, what's up with Nintendo? Are they going for a "Kings of Gimmicky Crap Award?"

I would have to say the Battlefield 1942 series. For me, the sheer amount of replayable content on both the original and modded maps makes it the best PC gaming buy I ever made. Sure I have Fallout 3, COD4, Bioshock, etc. and while they are fun, they seem to end too quickly for me. I always knew if I got bored or finished one of those games I could always fire up 1942 and lose hours attempting new attacks with my aircraft or storming flags in a hail of gun fire with my teammates.

Unfortuantely, since I switched to Vista, I have been unable to play BF1942 due to some kind of glitch.

Yeah, consoles are getting dumbed down too. THANK YOU Wii!

Most of those games are old games, many released before Warcraft 3 and none of the good ones released since 2009 began.

Dawn of War 2 hardly even counts as an RTS it's so shallow and dumbed down and it definitely isn't worth buying since it relies primarily on a shrinking multi-player gamer base. I definitely don't have any use for a hollowed out shell of an RTS with all of the RTS elements removed, and that's why the case of DoW2 is now somewhere in the floor behind me, knocked off my shelf and left to collect dust because it's not even worth picking up off of the floor. With fewer and fewer people playing online that game is dying anyway, and a well deserved death if Relic's best effort to save it is to release crappy items for the dull and poorly made Campaign which no one even plays.

Empire Total War I've already ranted about.

Last PC game I bought was Empire: Total War. Haven't actually opened it yet because I've been busy and I'm uncertain as to how well it will run on my laptop, and therefore don't know if I will keep it. I mainly decided to pick it up because it was on sale and I'm a consumer whore.

If you are looking for straight reccomendations, Civilization IV complete. $40 for Civilization IV, Civilization IV: Warlords, Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword, and Civilization IV: Colonization!. I don't have Warlords, but the rest were worth it and I spent about double that for them seperately.

I will say, though, that the learning curve for Colonization! (it's actually a stand alone and not an expansion) is like a brick wall with a ledge jutting out.

I did ask for games that were worth buying :p Empires TW isn't one of them, as you will discover once you open it. You'd be better off going back and getting Rome Total War + the BI expansion

What? All those games came after Warcraft 3...

Excluding Empire Earth, the first EU and Shogun:Total War.

Sacred 2 is recent and worth buying if you like RPGs.

I may be wrong but I thought Dawn of War 1 came out before Warcraft 3. I'm pretty sure Age of Mythology did as well, and I KNOW Empire Earth did because Empire Earth is a way old game (if you're thinking of Empire Earth 3, I refer you back to the Worth Buying part of the topic). Europa Universalis I'm pretty sure came before Warcraft 3 as well, though I could be wrong.

I liked Age of Legends pretty well, or was it Rise of Legends, anyway I had a Gould inspired faction online and single player the game was fun. Sadly I never found Rise of Nations to be all that fun, but it must be doing something right since so many thousands still play it and love it.

Either way, ask Relic and they'll tell you RTS gaming is dead. That's why Dawn of War isn't really an RTS game so much as a CoH clone in space.

Guess I was wrong, Warcraft 3 came out during an RTS golden age or something. We've been through a long RTS drought since that golden age ended though.

:p Sorry, shiny surfaces are not enough to make a game worth playing for me. The story sucked, I was lead through it like a mule on a freakin' rope it was so linear, the plot was ridiculous... My complaints go on but, yeah, not worth buying for me.

Thanks, I did buy it and I like it pretty well. Despite some rather serious flaws I must say that game was worth buying. It's more like a larger scale Diablo 2 clone than an RPG, but I enjoy playing it online with my European friends.

It came 2 years after. Age of Mythology came months after WC3. I was mentioning the EU franchise.

Also I don't think that Relic would say RTS is dead...considering their reputation is based on RTS...and they going to keep developing RTS.

Heh, I didn't actually make that comment Valentine, I don't know how my name got mixed in there. Also I would say after reading the comments, although RTS isn't my cup o' tea, it definitely isn't dying.

Ah well, they're still all pretty old by Videogame standards. Most of them were pretty good, some of them were great, but there aren't many new RTS games and the ones that come out are increasingly lack luster.

Anyway, Relic's CEO did say RTS gaming was dead, which explains a lot about Dawn of War 2.
