Dan nodded.
"Thanks."
He took one step back.
"Roxanne, if I have to leave, make sure Jess doesn't get hurt. I know you wouldn't let it happen, but if it does, you'll have another enemy."
He closed his eyes,
"Damn, sorry...you know what I meant."
As Roxanne and the others spoke to Garrett a Rat Pack grunt was watching them. "Yes ma'am," he said to his radio. "it's definitely Flicker. I do remember the dockhouse ma'am. Lost my brother. Sorry ma'am, I'll keep it to myself next time. Yeah, I'll keep watching him. Let you know if he does anything."
----
"Right." May replied. "Keep in tou--BLERGH" Her head fell back into the toilet, letting loose another round of vomit. "Damn it!" She shouted. "First the military shows up and now this fucking flu!"
"Relax." Oliver said from outside the stall, leaning against the wall. "It'll pass quickly, and you'll be back to your old self."
May walked out of the stall wiping her lip, and left the room. Oliver followed as they walked through the halls of the HQ. They were practically empty now. Everyone considered a refugee had been evacuated long ago. The only ones left were Rat Pack members and the remnants of the police department; them and the hundreds of superhumans that now answered directly to May. Dozens of them were away on missions at the moment, whether it be scavenging, recon, or just fighting off any military or mutants that got too close to vital resources. It required almost all of the Rat Pack's manpower to monitor the city, and most of the rest worked as engineers fixing all the equipment lying around.
The couple walked into the main command center, where a large monitor displayed current missions. Mandrill team was engaged with a squad of soldiers outside a weapons cache. The hyper nimble members of Mandrill team were nearly impossible to hit, and picked off the soldiers one by one as their mission support leader Tanya cheered them on.
The pair walked up to a young man watching some monitors off in the corner. "Report, Wilson!" May barked.
The lad jumped up and saluted the both of them. "Yes, ma'am!" he shouted. "I've been watching Cirque, like you asked, but every once in a while the cameras get shut down, nothing but static."
"And?" Oliver asked.
"When they come back on, he's still where he was. I think it's just a malfunction." The man replied.
"Not a chance." Oliver said to May. "It's a trick, he's taking out the camera to escape. Question is, why did he come back?"
"I don't know." May said. "But I don't like having someone escaping my facilities." She tapped into the comm channels and said "Attention Beta-3, attention Metahuman Beta-3. I want you to report to Cirque's cell and monitor it at all times. But stay hidden at all times, got that? I don't want you knowing he's there."
"Now that that's cleared up, any other news?" Oliver said as the pair left.
"Not much." May said. "Apparently that Garrett guy, Flicker, just showed up in the park." The pair were bombarded by hot coffee from Gaz, who heard her.
"The bastard ESCAPED?" He asked in disbelief. Before May could say anything he had hopped into the elevator and made a beeline for the park.
"I have an offer for you Roxanne." Garret said as he looked straight into the camera. Garret walked closer towards Roxanne and grabbed her wrist in a quick motion. He gave a wolf like grin and ripped her onto the ethereal plane. For roxanne the entrance to the ethereal plane was like being stretched apart slowly while razors cut her flesh. Garret blinked her to the top of a building a few blocks down. "Now that we are alone, I might be creating a team, on the views I told you with avian, to shape the world to our will. Do you accept or decline, you won't regret joining me." He said as he looked over the green misted city.
"GARRET!" Gaz shouted, flying through the streets. He passed through the park but saw that he was gone. Instantly recognizing that he was off somewhere else he combed the city. He knew how Flicker worked. After some time, a voice came over the comm. It was May.
"You idiot, look up."
Gaz looked up to see on top of a tall building, Garret was with Roxanne.
"How did you see him?" Gaz asked.
"I track superhumans, Ace. It's kind of a necessary skill when you're in my line of work."
Gaz flew up from the opposite side of the building, being sure that Garret wouldn't spot him. He came up on the other side and hopped off of his hoverboard. The thing flew away quickly, and left him there as he listened to Garret talk.
There was something about an offer for Roxanne to join him. Gaz considered waiting to see what Roxanne said, but then remembered Wait a moment, when the fuck have I ever planned anything out? Spontaneous reaction's my thing!
He rolled out from behind his cover and launched a small jolt of electricity at him to keep him distracted.
Garret rolls his eyes and leaps out of the way of the projectile. "First of all, I am far from a child, second of all, can a man have a private talk with his potential daughter in law?" Garret said to Gaz. "I don't want to fight, now isn't the time"
"Thanks for giving my ass back anyways" Garret said back sarcastically as he slowly drew his gun. "I just want to have a talk to her, she dated my son"
Dan stared at where Roxanne was once standing.
"Oh god..."
He sighed and looked back at Karen.
"This is going o get out of hand now Jess. It would have been ok if Garret hadn't of shown up and taken Roxanne."
He slowly backed towards the door.
"Of course, we should have never done the terrible deed of saving your life, twice" Garret said smoothly as he brushed himself off. "Kor had to leave because I made him, he will be back once the group is formed, he needed to convince some individuals in japan to let some people go"
The hell happened? Oliver wasn't involved here, it's Gaz (Blue Ace) talking to Garret
"Right." Gaz said. His hoverboard appeared and waited at his feet. Gaz placed Roxanne on it. "You get going, I need to stay here and have a word with your friend. His buddies in Japan are missing him, and I think it's about time he went back."
The hoverboard flew away, leaving only Gaz and Garret on the roof. The Blue Ace charged himself for battle, a few appliances on the roof sparking in tune with him. "So, Flicker, think you can take me this time around? Or maybe you just want to surrender right now."
Appearance: Wears a black cloak and black clothing underneath. Has wears a red scarf around his neck, and a red bandanna to keep his hair from falling down into his face. Has a large x-shaped scar on his stomach. He now wields a blade similar to Curtis' made of the same material.
This except the underclothing is black.
Personality: Compared to four years ago, Jason has turned his back on humanity. Instead of attacking with rash anger as Curtis does, Jason keeps his calm, his face showing almost no emotion when he battles.
Powers: Can control fire, and create his own. His fire, however, is black in color. He also has the ability to armor any part of his body, similar to Curtis' power. Wields an unbreakable black sword.
Bio:
Arc 1:
Jason was born into a normal family, him being the only one with any powers. His entire family was burned alive, or so he thought until he discovered that his younger sister was still alive. Jason sided with Gray, thinking that if he didn't his sister would be killed. When Gabriel saved his soul, Jason swore he would never revert to helping Gray. In the end, Jason attacked his own allies because of Gray's lies. During the final battle, Jason was absent for the beginning but showed up in the end. Having a gruesome battle with Gray, that ended with everyone thinking he had been killed.
Arc 2:
After Jason was taken to Greenland by his older brother Curtis, he spent four years resting and recuperating. He was downhearted when he learned that his ability to transform into a dragon completely, had faded the day Gray had impaled him. He supposed it was for the best, but he never gave up training, and he has trained endlessly for the last three years to regain that power, but has only managed to mimic his older brothers power, his skin no weaker than his brothers. After four years of resting and training, Jason is on the move again, having recently learned of Oliver's existence in a new city, the city his brother was apparently reeking havoc in. His speed and strength have increased ten-fold since his last fight, being able to move ten times faster than his brother, and growing his armor ten times as hard as well. He is now on a hunt for Oliver, and he has finally arrived, lusting for Oliver's head.
Alignment: Jason doesn't really care about the serum, it not posing any real threat to him. Instead, Jason is now looking for Oliver and his brother.
Other: Has very faint scars were Gray's battle had given him them. The only really noticeable scar is on his stomach were Gray had impaled him.
Name: Lucifer ((not in any way related to the demon))
Alias: Lost Soul
Age: 35
Appearance:
Underneath the armor, Lucifer is a pale white color, his eyes the same white that his skin is. He has no pupils, but can still see. His ears are long and elf-like, and he has sharper teeth.
Personality: Lucifer is almost always silent, giving only small nods and shrugs to tell others what he is going to be doing. He obeys every command that Jason gives, and is willing to fight to the death if he needs to. He will even give his life up for Jason.
Powers: Has the ability to see people from thousands of feet away. Sharp claws are hidden underneath his armored gauntlets, and his hearing is exceptional. He is physically strong, and can lift a semi off the ground and hurl it across two city blocks. He can only use this power once in a while though, while his great sight and hearing are forever. Lucifer wields a pure white broadsword which he can use exceptionally well, his blade cannot be broken.
Bio: Lucifer's past is a mystery, those who know him only knowing him from the time he joined the Dragon's. Lucifer has been with the Dragon's for as long as anyone can remember, and is their greatest foot soldier. Lucifer volunteered to join Jason on his mission back to the city, and knows of all Jason's plans. His is a master swordsman, wielding a pure white broadsword and knowing how to use it exceptionally well.
Alignment: Lucifer's only alignment is to Jason and the Dragon's.
Name: Emily
Alias: Shadow
Age: 20
Appearance:
Carries with her a serrated dagger that is sheathed underneath her dress near the ankle.
Personality: Emily is usually a good tempered girl, never getting into a fight unless absolutely necessary. Compared to Jason, she is the voice of reason, calming him down when his anger flares, and always trying to find a reasonable way to settle disputes.
Powers: Emily has the ability to create small shields of energy, unless she creates symbols in the ground to sustain a shield. She can either make the shield transparent, or pink, and only those with permission can enter through the shield. With the shield, she can heal minor injuries or encase someone to stop them from attacking or moving.
Bio: Emily was just a recent member of the Dragon's recruited around the time Jason arrived with his grievous injury. She was one of the people who helped care for him while he was wounded, and she enjoyed his company. They began a relationship when Jason returned from his latest mission, and now she intends to travel back with him so that he may finish what he needs to and returns home quickly.
Alignment: She follows Jason, but she has never taken a life. She is Lawful Good, but won't ever abandon Jason or his cause.
Jason stood staring out across the city, a girl in a dark purple dress wandering around the mansion and setting up stone markers in the shape of a star around his mansion. A man wearing near-black armor, and wielding a broadsword, stood behind him, his body unmoving and his face covered by a mask. A soft crackling of branches could be heard behind them, and the girl jumped, her face staring in surprise at what came out of the dense brush that surrounded Jason's mansion.
Jason's eyes flashed over to the man who had stumbled from the brush, his face and hands torn by the thick thorns that covered the branches of the trees. Jason sighed, giving a quick flick of his head, with which the man in armor moved towards the man.
"Thank god I found you... those things have been chasing me forever! I have been hiding out in the woods..." The man started, he never finished.
A soft sound as if a knife had just cut through a thick piece of meat, and the man fell over, his head flying from his shoulders and falling back into the bushes. The man in armor made towards the man but Jason cut in before he could.
"Dispose of his body quickly... I want nothing left for the mutants to follow his scent here." Jason said, beginning to walk slowly down the path towards the city.
Lucifer nods, easily grabbing the body with a hand and throwing it out over the mountain. There was a crackle of brush as the body fell back into the trees, but Lucifer began following Jason again.
The girl finished placing the stone tablets, and she suddenly raised her hands towards the manor. A bright pink bubble surrounded the mansion, but suddenly disappeared as quickly as it had been created. The girl nodded, and began slowly walking down the path behind Jason and Lucifer.
"Jason... was it really necessary to kill him?" The girl asked, a hint of pity in her voice.
"Yes... if word got out that I had returned, a certain someone would already be on the hunt for me." Jason said, not even turning to look at her.
"Yes Jason..." The girl said, her head hanging.
"It was for the best Emily... but for now we have business to attend to so follow me." Jason said, his eyes glaring out across the city as military choppers flew across the sky and mutant screams could be heard as they tore apart military officials.
