He smiled at her,
"Anything you need to clear up first?"
David appeared beside Roxanne.
"Before we leave, there is a certain material that is used to make paths to different countries. You see, it's very hard to travel through water, let alone with other people. This material is called psytanium and it makes it easier for me to travel underground. I'm sensing a path of psytanium near here, but it'll be hard to locate it exactly. So you two follow me."
He turned his head to Roxanne with a smile. He kissed her quickly and then left without a word.
"By Rox." Dan laughed.
Dan followed David with Jess by his side.
It better not take too long. Then again, something'll probably get in the way...
David stopped dead in his tracks.
Is it possible? No, i'd need some seriously heavy duty equipment to extract it...And what would be the point. Surely there's a track nearby that leads to London. It's a capital city.
David shook his head and continued onwards, eventually leaving Roxannes view and into the trees.
"To be honest, I have no idea. I'll probably become a hardcore postman." He laughed.
David could feel the surge of power from the psytanium getting closer already. He'd have to be carefull not to let Dan or Jess get too close or it could have deadly results. He had no idea exactly what could happen, but he knew that it probably wouldn't be good.
Dan could feel a strange tingle in the tips of his fingers. A sign that they were getting close,
"You feel that Jess?"
"Not yet. The feeling will gradually fill your body. When you can feel it everywhere, stay still." David said. The tingle was not as strong on him, so he wouldn't know when they needed to stop.
The tingle was slowly crawling up Dans arms and legs.
"What happens if we continue?"
"No idea, but I don't think it's good..."
"Jess, be carefull."
Dan stepped forward even slower now. The tingling was just about to fill his body when-
BANG
The sound of a shot went off in one of the trees and Dan fell forward, just far enough to bring on the pain. The tingling was more than that now. The agony filled his body instead.
"Shit, Jess, don't come any closer!" David said as he spun and looked up at the trees. He saw the sniper sitting on a branch and took out his pistol. With deadly acuracy, he took the sniper down. He ran over to Dan and checked his pulse. Upon skin contact, David fell unconciouse as well.
Jason landed lightly on top of the metal hatch, which he quickly opened and descended into the darkness. It took him a few minutes to reach the initial base, in which time the bloodstain on his shirt was growing. He began to clutch at his stomach, and armor began to slowly cover the wound so he wasn't losing too much blood.
By the time he was in the initial base, he was making no attempt to stay quiet at all.
Jess could see that they needed to be pulled back into the tingling. It would wake them up quicker. And if Jess saw a purple glow, she needed to stay dead still.
Dan was strugling to stay alive.At first neither of them were glowing, but after a whiler, the wound in Dan's chest began to glow.
David's eyes opened quickly and he clambered to his feet.
"Jess, don't move!"
The glow in Dan's chest grew larger and then there was a white flash. Dan's eyes opened and he rolled over, followed by a scream.
"For fuck's sake Dan, don't move!"
The glow stopped and then Dan sunk into the ground.
"I'll follow him."
And upon that, David couldn't use his powers.
"What the hell?!"
When Dan opened his eyes again, he was falling down into the forest again.
He was closing in on the floor. He was just about to land, when suddenly he stopped.
Is this...my power?
He moved to his feet and David ran over to him. Upon a small amount of skin contact, there was a small flash. Dan felt energised.
David also felt that he could use his power again.
"What the fuck just happened?"
"Well...it looks to me as if the psytanium caused you to take my power and then sink into the ground, then re appear at the top of a tree, then because you get your powers back when needed most, you can now use your gravity again. That said, I have my power back. But..."
David grabbed Dan's wrist, with another small flash. David felt different. Lighter.
"Dan, I have your power. SKin contact is the key." He grabbed Dan again.
"Excelent!"
