Karen sat back still crying. "I don't think you missed too much. Probably a month or two." Karen sniffed "I don't know. I missed you so much. Every hour felt like a year!" She sort of calmed down now "I don't think any of your relatives have show up yet. But my sister did." Karen wiped her nose.

"... I've been healing for two months?! I've been asleep for two whole months?!" Beat crouched down so she was face to face with Karen "Your sister? Is she a psycho? Please don't say she's a psycho..." She lifted Karen back up and hugged her softly. "Anyways I'm back now, there's no need to be sad anymore... Is there now?"

Jason stood up and turned away. Fire crawled down his arm to his hand, but it quickly flickered out. Jason walked towards the door pointedly ignoring Rachel.

"I can't pretend to be someone I'm not Rachel. I'm a murderer and a villain... I'm leaving and I doubt I'll return." Jason said, throwing the door open and walking away down the hallway.

Lucifer was already waiting for him outside, and when he saw Jason, Lucifer quickly followed him out of the base. Dark flames rippled behind Jason, preventing anyone else from entering or leaving the base.

Rachel didn't move or tr to say anything as Jason, instead just re-curling in to her ball. She didn't cry, but kept silent, hold her legs close to her chest. She knew that there was nothing she could do to stop him from going, and figured that all she could do was hope that Jason would come back alive, if he planned to come back at all.

Karen closed her eyes. "Indrakshi? No, she's stable. Mostly. She isn't a threat to us anyways. She's a kind person. If a little... Touchy. At any rate you'll be able to meet her soon. I know she followed me."

Memoir stepped out of the room and lit up a cigarette. "War is fun." He muttered. He started laughing. Not a kind laugh. A cold, mocking laugh. Like a condescending professor mocking a student who is desperate for any praise.

Kor glared at jack and transformed into a large dragon. He grabbed him roughly in his talons and dragged him to the medical tent. He dropped him on a bed and stalked away

Jack then muttered to himself, "He's gonna get shot someday, and I'm 75% sure it'll be by me." Jack said before writing down what he had told Kor to a doctor.

"There are no drug dealers nearby, the city is nuked out, do you live under a rock?" The doctor asked as he read the note. "We could give you something similar though"

Well, he accidentally knocked up Roxanne and wasn't expecting a baby at all. He is having fun watching Garret fight and some randow guy in a cowboy suit comes up to him in the middle of a forest asking him for drugs from a dealer in a city where no live non powered individuals live.

Some time after the battle, Renegade was standing next to a doctor, surveying Gaz who was lying unconscious on a cot.

"So, doc, did he finally get himself killed this time?" Dan asked, a veneer of sarcasm to his voice.

"Not quite." The doctor replied. "The man's alive, but frankly I'm not sure how. By all rights, he should have died of blood loss, but for some reason he's still going."

"The Blue Ace doesn't give up." Dan explained. "You'd think it was his second power. There was one time in Chile, he got crushed under a boulder these guerrillas threw at him; spent 9 months in rehab, but he somehow survived 95% of the bones in his body being broken. And hell, last time we fought Garret he got his throat slit by one of the Ronin. Managed to take out a whole team of the bastards before he finally bled out. I guess it's too much to expect this to put him down for long."

"Oh, he'll be out for a while." The doctor assured him. "A week, at the very least. He needs that time for the stitches to settle, or they'll pop the moment he goes above a leisurely stroll. Now then, I've got other patients to attend to, so I'd suggest you have your moment and then go find Oliver. I think he's about to leave."

"Leave?" Dan asked. "Leave for what?"

"Didn't you hear?" The doctor asked. "Apparently he and Jason are going to go after that dragon, Fafnir."

Renegade's entire face showed a sort of abstract horror. "Fafnir? You don't mean THE Fafnir?"

"Are there other Fafnirs I'm not aware of?"

Renegade dashed out of the room, leaving the bewildered doctor in the dust.

Fafnir roared out in pain. He had finally laid down the helicopter, and fixed Amaranths wounds with his magic point. Now, he was trying to rest, the shock-waves of his muscles over exerting themselves still reeling through his body. "Dammit, How did that even happen?" he said to himself. Shaking his head at his foolishness. He had rushed in without knowing what was going on, and apparently had found himself in the middle of a war in a far advanced world than his own and more people like him.

He glanced over at the heavy breathing Amaranth, he had no idea who he was, but he had helped him, so he was generous and returned the favour.

After Everyone left the helicopter, he flew it over to the nearby mountains, and hid in a cave. He had been there for a few hours, and had just finished healing himself and Amaranth. He took a deep breath, then another muscle spasm sent him unconscious, it would be a long night.

[HEADING=2]Time Passes[/HEADING]

"Why am I here? Amaranth asked Fafnir, looking at his bleak surroundings. He and Fafnir had both healed fully and woken up, he had complained about the cave, so they left, trying to find better accommodation.

Fafnir had taken them both to the city, and immediately went to the centre, taking the exact middle house of the city. He and Amaranth somehow managed to slip in without being found, and had been re-enforcing the house, knowing a battle was to come.

A jet flew over the city. "What the hell happened here..." A man in the jet said as he sighed. The town was finally coming back to life. Most of the mutant threat had been dealt with, and sections of the city were safe to live in, if not restricted, but at least safe.

Tanks could still be seen being guarded by foot soldiers, surrounding the moving armouries, and taking down the "Quarantined" zones. All that was left was clean up.

<spoiler=OOC>Sorry for my long absence, I kept wishing to post, but never finding the time.
It may take me a little bit to get back into the swing of things, but Since its holidays, I should have much more time on my hands, as you 3 in the group should know... You others should really join and use it...

PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN IN THE JET. I was gonna use him but meh.

"Oliver!" Dan called, searching for his old sidekick. He'd been searching all through the base, and had begun to fear that he had already left. But to his relief, he found Oliver talking to his wife at the exit of the base. He walked up after they had finished talking. May turned away and walked back inside. For a moment, Dan thought he saw tears in her eyes.

"Oliver." He re-stated. "I know what you're doing. I can't let you go after Fafnir alone."

"I won't be alone." Oliver replied. "Jason will be there."

"That's even worse!" The older hero shouted. "Listen, you know that conniving bastard's going to bring backup of his own. And with Gaz out of commission, and Buck and May leading the efforts here you'll need someone to help you when things get rough. So I'm coming with."

"I appreciate it Dan, honest." Oliver insisted. "But you've seen me in action. I'm stronger now, I can beat Jason, and whoever else he throws at me."

"Maybe so, but how will you do after you exhaust yourself fighting Fafnir?" Dan asked. Oliver had no response. Seeing that he had relented, Dan slapped his hand on his old friend's back. "Come on, cheer up. You and I are going to go kick some dragon ass, and we'll come back heroes just in time for the rebuilding to start. It'll be just like old times."

"...You're right." Oliver said, his face brightening up. "Let's go; I've already got Fafnir's location, and I sent a messenger telling Jason to rendevous with us at the old football stadium. We need to hurry."

The two flew off, heading towards the meeting with their temporary allies.

Dan and Oliver are gonna go meet up with Jason at a football stadium, then go kill Fafnir.

Memoir stood smirking in the wreckage of the ruined building.
"He who dies a thousand deaths,
Must first take a thousand steps.
He who takes a thousand lives,
must pardon the village strife."
He raised a gun.
"He who fights the waves of light,
Does not expect allies with knights.
He who fights the world at once,
Forgets he ever lost the fun."
He stretched. His powers were back to full. Jason was lucky. Memoir liked him. Not many people can lay claim to that honour.

"So, what do we do now? I wonder... The place is still to shit I can see... Anything we need to do? People to save? I still gotta be a hero remember... Though maybe I should take a break... Sleeping for a month or two takes it out on you it seems..." She yawned and looked up at the sky. "I at least hoped everything would be normal... Guess I'm way too optimistic... It was stupid of me... To think everything wouldn't still be in the shitter..."

Jason was already standing at the football field, so when the messenger arrived, he was dismissed just as quickly as he came. Lucifer stood idly beside him, leaning against his great-sword which stuck out of the ground. Jason stood with his arms crossed and his eyes closed, waiting for Oliver to arrive. There was no doubt Oliver would be bringing some type of reinforcements with him, although what they would be Jason could not say.

"Lucifer, I want you to keep to yourself on this mission... and I want you to make sure that Oliver's reinforcements are taken care of after we make contact with Fafnir. Make it quick, and make it clean, if we keep to ourselves then they won't have any reason to believe we mean to betray them." Jason whispered so that nobody except Lucifer could hear, "I will take care of Oliver, and with his death is the death of all hope this city has left."

Several minutes afterward, Oliver entered through the front doors of the stadium alongside Dan. The two made their way towards the field, still conversing amongst themselves.

"Oliver." Dan said as the two moved along. "One of my demons has been spying on the field; Jason's here. And I was right, he brought the big, armored one."

"Can you see what they're doing?" Oliver asked, immediately sensing an advantage to seize.

"Yes and no." Dan replied. "I can't make out anything they're saying, but I think they're talking about something. Regardless, Oliver, I hope you remember: these two can't be trusted."

"I know that." Oliver said. "Let's just focus on Fafnir, then we'll handle them."

At that moment, the pair walked out onto the field, their position about twenty feet from Lucifer and Jason. The pair approached, and stopped about ten feet away. "You ready?" Oliver asked.

Jason nodded, and wings slowly unfurled from his back. Lucifer righted himself, bringing his blade out of the ground and into it's sheath in a single swift motion.

"As ready as we'll ever be... although I can't help but think if this time will be the same as last time..." Jason said smoothly, easily hiding his intent.
