Oh, he is so going to betray us. Dan thought to himself, drawing from his pool of experience. The heroic duo made no flourish of their powers, like their counterparts, as their powers made such actions unnecessary.

"Fafnir is with Amaranth; the two have hidden themselves near the center of the city. They didn't spot the scout, so they should have no idea we're coming. If we're lucky, they aren't fully recovered yet."

After giving the briefing, Oliver sharply rose up into the sky, followed by Dan. "We'll lead." He said, beginning to head in the direction of the house.

I didn't realize that Dan was going to be with Oliver here... He knows what we're planning, he isn't as naive as Oliver when it comes to such things. Oh well, one quick blow from Lucifer's blade and Renegade will die like any other human. Jason thought, taking off into the sky. Lucifer disappeared below, following on the ground just as quickly as they flew.

"So who goes in first?" Jason asked, catching up to Oliver and Renegade, yet staying far enough away from them so that they couldn't harm him without him getting fair warning.

"We're going in at the same time." Oliver replied. "You and I are hitting Fafnir; Dan and your backup will take Amaranth."

A sense of unease was sitting heavily in Oliver's stomach. He kept telling himself that maybe Jason would stay true to his word, but something in the back of his mind insisted that he was going to turn on him. Oliver admitted that he helped turn Jason into this, and he had decidedly rather recently that he would do anything he could to fix his mistake, whether that was making Jason a hero again, or killing him. But now his conscience was starting to turn on him, and he wondered if he could really do that to his old friend.

Dan, meanwhile, was beginning to seriously regret that last beer he had before leaving.

"Fine, I suggest that you go for the killing blow while I distract him. His flames won't effect me, and I can take a pretty serious beating while my armor is up." Jason said, turning to look at Oliver.

Jason knew that he had been planning on turning on Oliver, but he couldn't bring himself to kill his friend. He instead decided that he would try and stall Fafnir while Oliver delivered the killing blow. If Jason didn't make it this time, then he would have at least atoned for what he had done.

Fafnir chuckled to himself as he set up the last trap. This area was abandoned, set as a quarantine zone because of the few mutants still around, so they could set up as many traps as they could. Many cages were around with the amount of tapped mutants still writhing and waiting to do something.

The severe traps were mostly located around the house itself, having "Land-mines" of stored energy, waiting to explode outwards at any given moment, even some hanging from roofs and walls just waiting the touch of anything. Many have also been set into a chain reaction, one explodes then sets off three more in the same area.

After setting the final trap, it surrounded the entire house, he had made Amaranth freeze the insides, and pack it into there, increasing the pressure until it was fit to burst. Then, put it at the front door, once again on touch of by remote breaking by Amaranth or Fafnir, extremely cold air would burst out, freezing anything it touches.

He walked back into the house, confident that they would be at least sore trying to get here, and they couldn't sneak up on them.

"This is the place." Oliver said. The quartet overlooked the quarantine zone, at the center of which stood an conspicuous house. "They're in there, according to the scout."

"Wait." Dan said. "Something feels wrong here, but I don't know what. I'm sending in scouts first."

"But that might blow our cover." Oliver protested.

"If it does, it will also save our lives, so I think this is the better option." Dan snapped his fingers, several dozen demons of various forms surrounding the house. They slowly approached, making sure to cover every square inch of territory.

They're a little bit off from the house, about maybe 30 feet, but not the whole district.

Garret got up from his position on the hospital bed, good as new. He smiled and got the rush of intel from his birds. Interesting, Jason and Oliver working together, I will need to see this Garret took the prepared weaponry, finished by shadow and teleported atop a tower and looked down.

As the demons got closer, one managed to brush a floor bomb. The explosion released immense built up energy, rocking the floor, setting off more of the bombs, annihilating more than half of the demons.

Some were set on angles, and were shot out towards the sky and to the surrounding buildings, some setting off more in those buildings. Quickly after the first bomb was set off, the area was complete pandemonium, with pillars of fire, wind, earth, ice, water and combinations of them being shot in almost all directions.

Oliver threw up a shield around the quartet, shielding them from the explosions as Dan continued snapping his fingers, sending literally hundreds of demons into the maelstrom of various conflicting energies, determined to set off every trap on the outside of the house that he could.

Traps kept on exploding. Sending violent eruptions everywhere. One of them touched a special one. It had been infused with judgement inside of it. All elements spurted out in a large flash of pure energy. It destroyed absolutely everything in its path, including a few hundred demons.

The path was set to just clip the shield, not a full hit, but just hit a small portion of it.

Karen shrugged. "I don't know. I honestly couldn't tell you." She cocked her pistols. "My lot's with Garret. Isn't it, Indrakshi?"

"Huh?" Indrakshi got up. Her long white hair clashed spectacularly with her browned skin. She aimed her sniper rifle at Beat. "Who is she, Angarika?"

Karen turned, aiming her pistol at Indrakshi "I gave up that name. This is Alicia Hal. My girlfriend."

As the explosions continued, Dan continued to summon demons, some of them even the same ones he had used before, yanked back from their rest in the afterlife to continue the assault. Oliver's shield was cracked by the glancing blow, but it held up, and through concentration he managed to repair the damage.

 

[Fallen-Angel Risen-Demon]

"Wow, I just woke up and already there's people aiming guns at me..." Beat looked Indrakshi. "You do not want to mess with me. I am not a child anymore, all that is left of my old self is my love for Karen and my want to help people. I've just woken up after defeating a Demon, fighting Demons changes you. Maybe before I was weak, no longer. So put you gun down or you will die. I don't want to kill someone so soon after waking up so I'd prefer it if you put your gun down."

Indrakshi lowered her gun slightly. "I still don't like you." As she approached one fact became incredibly clear. Indrakshi was short. Really short. She grinned maliciously "Only one problem. You think powers can hurt me? Enough to kill me at any rate? I'm a Null. You'll do well to remember that."

Karen snarled "And you will do well to remember that your dear little sister is now a Nanohive!" She snatched the gun from Indrakshi and crushed it in her hand. Beat could see little spiders crawling all over the gun eating away at the metal.

"A... Null? What is a Null, Karen? Oh and little one, you pose little to no threat to me. I have defeated a Demon, what is a little thing like you compared to a Demon? I'll tell you, nothing." She lifted Indrakshi up to eye level. "You're nothing." She threw her back to the floor. "And if you threaten me again I'll do more then just merely throw you to the floor."

"A null is someone who is immune to powers. I would suggest you both watch out. Indrakshi almost killed a deamon without the use of powers beat. And anyways this is a reunion! Let us be happy." Karen gave a big smile to both of them.
