Oliver's arm dissipated as he stumbled for cover, rocks falling towards him. He closed his eyes, waiting for the deadly impact, but it never came. He slowly opened his eyes, to find the shadow standing over him, the rocks tossed to the side. It turned towards him, and its face--barely recognizable--turned into that of Renegade's.
"Dan?" Oliver asked.
"Oliver." It replied, confirming Oliver's suspicions. But it wasted no time, and went on explaining the situation. "Do you remember, when we were just starting to work together, I asked you what your favorite book was?"
"Yeah. I do." Oliver replied.
"And do you remember what happened at the end of that book? With the dragon?"
Oliver looked at the ground for a moment, and whispered. "I do." He stood up, and looked at the shadow where his eyes would be. He could see nothing there, but smiled and said: "Thank you, Dan."
"Make me proud, Paragon," the shadow replied. It turned and began to walk away, disappearing back where it had come from.
Oliver felt a new rush of energy go through him, and he took off after the dragon. His energy arm returned, now clutching a bow in its hand. I'll do it in one shot.
