"Hmm..." Magus scratched his chin in thought, "In that case... all I can offer is the promise that if you wish me to... if the Other gets out of hand... I can lock you both in a nightmare to contain the threat." Magus paused for thought, "Or... no... never mind... its better if I don't tell you the other idea... Umbra... I'll have to run the idea past you later... when he isn't with us."

Umbra nodded. "Looks like he's leaving. We'd better go as well," she noted, hearing distant sirens. Walking away, she added, "We can discuss it while we get out of here," as she put away her baton. Well, tonight is interesting alright.

"Umbra," Magus said, "I'm afraid I haven't had the chance to introduce myself. You may call me Magus... and... I'm sorry about that nasty burn I gave you earlier. Here, let me take a look at it... I'm not healer, but I can probably mask the pain and injury with an illusion."

"Don't apologize. Our friend over there was responsible for the burn... I'll be alright for now, but thanks for the offer though." She ducked behind a broken fence, directing Magus to follow him. "So what were you intending to do to the knights, Magus?"

"Shh... wait a moment..." Magus paused; making a series of gestures to create the image of a 20-foot soundproof wall where the broken fence had been, "There... that should take care of that... but let's whisper just to be safe..."

Magus's eyes dart around nervously then he begins again, "Well... if I can find a safe way to draw the Other side of that knight out, and entice it to posses someone else... maybe I can destroy the demon before it can fully merge with that person... it isn't a good option... but... it may be the only chance that knight has."

Umbra caught on to the implications of Magus's plan. "It sounds like it's the only way to destroy such an entity, but who would you get for bait?" she whispered in reply. "They would have to be exceptionally mentally fortified, to lengthen your window of opportunity."

"Yes..." said Magus, "And exceptionally powerful to bait the Other... by that criteria I might just qualify, but I am the only one -as far as I know - that possesses the knowledge for such an undertaking... I would be performing the operation... which means I can't be the Other's target as well. You are quite skilled and seem powerful enough... but it isn't certain... it might work better if we can get several exceptionally powerful individuals together and then I can use my skill at illusion into fooling the knight and his darker side into mistaking them for one person... but this kind of operation would still kill the knight... so... the best I can really offer the knight is a chance at peaceful rest."

"Yeah..." she replied somberly. "Of course, to demonstrate their superiority, the target would have to beat his current host, make themselves seem superior... possibly killing him before the operation truly starts." I'm not too terribly familiar with entity possession, but I could probably find a contact who HAS one, just lying around in wait. Hold on, could...? "This might sound stupid, but what would happen if another entity tried to possess him?"

"Hmm..." Magus scratched his chin as he thought, "That depends on the type of entity..."

"Huh..." Umbra wondered if that made practical sense. "Could they actually try to kill each other inside him in an attempt to gain control? Or would they fuse, or something?" Yeah... a lucky guess, knowledge does not make.

"That..." Magus paused, "That is brilliant! But I'll need to go into the knight's mind to determine the best kind of entity to use against it... but before I do that... we need to think about which course of action would be better... a fusion could result in a more balanced... more stable personality overall... but if they kill each other... that will most likely kill the host as well... we need to find out just how much of a threat this darker side is first... which means I will have to go into the knight's mind. If it looks like the corruption is spreading to me, snap me out of it immediately."

Magus allows the illusory wall to vanish and walks towards where the knight had been.

OK, apparently all of my uninformed ideas inspire him... Umbra looked to Magus walking back toward the knight's hangout. Well, I apparently told him to do this, so I'd better follow him. Don't want my offhand comments to start killing people... She followed Magus, noticing that her hand was starting to feel better. It'll take a bit to fully heal, but if I don't do much with it, the burn tissue shouldn't peel off... A thought occurred to Umbra. "Wait a minute, how is he going to be convinced to have this happen? He seemed dead-set against any intervention before."

So apparently my (and Darian's) lack of setting supernatural knowledge is insightful... Hooray! [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChanceTheGardener]

<color=green>Ashe, carrying the wounded man, finally found a place where he could put the flying nuisance, the town hospital. He barged himseld through the large front doors, and walked up to the front desk.

"Um. Hi. You might want to look after this guy before he dies" he paused a few moments, then looked back at the nurse "he didn't lose too much blood" then trailed off, thinking of the reward he would get and where he would rather be.

Ace shook Paragon's hand. "I'm Ace, I'm just here 'cause my pops insisted that I start out small. I'm a new hero you see, I use to be a sidekick for my pop Tek but I apparently surpassed him or something so he said that I should solo so here I am." He thought for a second. "Paragon? Wait aren't you with the Renegades or something? Huh..." He looked up at the sky. "Well... Nice to meet you, good luck in all your endeavors catching criminals and all. I best be off, catch some my own." He started ascending. "Oh wait." He stopped. "Take this." He tossed a phone to Paragon. "It's only got one number, mine, if you need any help with anything, especially if its technical or mechanical or anything like that, call me. If I can I'll be there in a jiffy. Anyway, catch you later." He took to the skies, holding his arms back.

Now in the skies he touched the side of his helmet. "Make log." A beeping sound was heard. "Met Paragon, gave him the communicator and told him to call if I was needed. I here he's skilled, so I thought it would be productive if I was to make some sort of acquaintance with him however small. End log." He looked down at Bright Grove. Always like the sight above... Well anything. He knelt down and grabbed the end of his board. May as well practice... Ace flew down to the roads against the cars dodging them. "WOOHOO!!!" He pulled up hard so he was looking directly at the sky and flew up, narrowly missing a truck. "Close one..." He pulled back more, doing a backflip and ending up level again. "Damn that was fun!" He stood back up.

Ace flew down next to Alex. "Well duh, but there's no way that I'd get hit." He stepped off. "I'm waaaay to skilled for that and I do it all the time, so I'm use to it..." He thought for a second. "Who are you...?" He flew closer to Alex. "I'm Green Ace, call me Ace for short. Why am I telling you this?"

"All right," said Magus, "Cameron, I'm going to enter your mind and attempt to ascertain exactly what kind of entity has merged with you."

Magus placed both hands on Cameron's temple and started reciting a quiet incantation.

Cameron pushed magus away. "No" He said simply "He is the soul of a man long dead, his will was too strong to destroy his soul so they embodied it into a necklace and tossed it into a lake. I found the necklace in my child hood and Dren entered me, becoming part of me."
