"So..." Minus said, "Any ideas on what to do next? I like new ideas." he asked the group.

Ashe wandered into the conference room, he was still trying to get all the blood off his weapons. It might take a while, there was a lot of blood. He looked down at his clothes, they used to be colourful, but now were just red. He walked in to see Hivemind lighting a cigarette. "Why do you smoke anyway? Aren't you like part robot or something?" he asked him, wondering why he was smoking.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Hivemind smiled. "Nano-hive not part machine. My namesake 'Hivemind' is a reference to that." He stretched, "As I said before to someone else, I can put it out if you want." He gave Ashe a grin with a thumbs up. "But why do I smoke? My mother smoked a lot when she'd get stressed and it'd calm her down. But hey, What do you expect from having an Ex-mercenary as a mom." Hivemind gingerly made three pounding motions along his left arm to check if it had been fully repaired. Seems to be a problem with my elbow. Might have chipped the soft part... "So how are you?"

Rachel hugged Jason again. "Come on, I'll take us back to base" She kissed him and quickly picked them both up and few them back to the HQ, leaving Oliver and Alex behind. She didn't care about them now. She just cared that Jason seemed not to remember what had happened, and what she had done. She brought them down at the front door and led Jason inside, finding the planning room and sitting down in a chair, Jason sitting next to her.

Ashe laughed, "Yeah, I'm fine. A bit tired, amazingly none of the henchmen actually hurt me too bad." he said, "Though obviously I hurt them" he motioned with his hand to the amount of blood covering him and his weapons. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you bang your arm against the table? It seemed a bit random" he asked Hivemind.

Oliver watched Rachel take Jason back to HQ, completely forgetting about he and Alex. I forgot how self-absorbed in their love life those two get. I hope I didn't make the wrong choice...

He caught up himself and Alex in separate energy fields, and began the long flight back to HQ.

Some time later...

After a frustrating time spent waiting and collecting, all the surviving Renegades were gathered into a single room. They each sat at a chair custom-built for them, though they were still a little young for them. Oliver would have sat in his own chair, but he was never the kind of person to sit when giving a speech. He had no idea why his future self even had it installed. He couldn't help but feel a little depressed seeing the empty chair next to him. He wondered what May was doing back in his time. Had she even realized they had disappeared? If she did, what would she do? She'd try to find me of course. But if it had worked she'd have found us by now...

He put those thoughts aside and addressed everyone.

"We've been out of our own time long enough. Every moment we're spending here is a moment that Minus can spend unhindered to do whatever he wants. But that stops now. I have a plan, and it's vital that every one of you follows it to the letter if any of us are going to make it home."

He pointed to a map of the world that materialized on the wall behind him, Flit giggling at his impeccable sense of timing.

"Minus controls a large swathe of land. But in the grand scheme, it's almost nothing. There's a whole planet that he hasn't even touched. That's our ticket home. Rachel." He nearly shouted, gesturing to her. "You'll lead the search team. Flit has gathered up a list of heroes across the world that have a method to either get you back in time or bring back the Renegades. You can go over the dossiers after this. Once you find them, you're to get back to our time as quickly as possible. Once you're there, you need to find Minus. He's the key to all of this. According to what the future Renegades gathered on him, he was driven down a dark path, but if you can keep him away from that, this future might never even happen."

Suddenly, a voice chimed up. Flit's.

"But, Paragon." Flit said in a somewhat airy voice. "Calculations show that there is a 0% chance that Minus will not find out about your operations, and attempt to stop you."

"I'm aware of that, and I'm prepared for it." Oliver replied to the AI. "While you seek out help, I'll be making a beeline to Minus' base. I'll keep him focused on trying to kill me; every moment he's out for my blood is a moment he isn't out for yours. That's really all there is to the plan. Do we have any questions before we set the operation into motion?"

Since CloggedDonkey didn't get to come up with the plan, I'll let them come up with whatever target they're going after.

First, Dragon, yeah, I admit, sloppily done. But I had to get Rachel and Jason back to base quick, and, with Pyro gone, I couldn't really have a conversation... Can we just chalk it up to Rachel being easily swayed by emotions, and Jason hugging her made her forgive him or something? Best I can come up with...

Also, thank you very much, CJ. I was just hoping to be helpful in a technical way instead of in-story. Still, thanks.

Rachel was surprised when she was selected for the leader. "Thank you, sir, I, huh... what do you want me to do, exactly? Just make sure that he doesn't turn evil, or will I have to kill him?" She looked at Oliver, surprised that he didn't give Jason or some other fighter the leader of this excursion. Why me? I mean, I'm not week, but, still... I would have given one of the others the job. Not that I'm complaining, but...

"Ah that? I was checking the integrity of my bone structure. One of the weapons I'm capable of using can launch bone fragments at nearly sonic velocity. The catch... well its my arm bone their getting the fragments from. They can repair it afterwards but it just isn't the same." Hivemind raised his hand. "Oliver. Do we choose which team we'd like to be on or will every one be sorted into teams?" As he said this he looked straight into Oliver's eyes, making sure he couldn't avoid the question. "If we're volunteering I'd like to go with the search team."

"If you think she can help, Alex, get her to join." Oliver told him. He then responded to Rachel's question.

"I'd prefer it if you can get him away from that life nonviolently. I won't deny you to the option if it comes down to the wire, but if it's at all possible, just try to make sure he has a good influence in his life instead of the one he got.

Rachel nodded and stood up. "Okay, I get you. Just make sure... oh, now I get you. You figured that I would make a good mother figure to a kid or something." She grabbed the gate of her noise. "Okay, I'll do it. But I won't like playing mommy to this kid. I'll play nice for a bit, but I still remember what he's doing to you guys now." She looked at Alex when he volunteered himself. "I've only seen one other immortal. He almost killed me and did kill another immortal. I can use someone that powerful." She said, extending a hand to him. "If anyone else that Oliver doesn't want here want to come with, you can."

"There's no need." Oliver told Hivemind as he volunteered himself to assist. "You'll all be on the search team. There's no need to risk anyone else's lives just to distract Minus."

"Alright, so, now that we know that everyone is with me, when are we going? I'd like to go soon, so we can just end this." Rachel said, looking around the room. Can I really handle leading everyone? I mean, I know I can do it with some of them, but some of these guys have spent more time fighting than I have been alive.... I guess I can just try. If things get too bad, I can just hand off everything to someone else...

Minus pondered the thought for a moment. "A sneak attack wouldn't be very fun now would it?" he walked over to a window and looked out. He laughed as an idea sprung into his head, "How about, we make them bring the fight to us?" he asked, "How would you guys feel like taking over a country or several?" he asked again.

His empire wasn't very large, just a few places here and there. If he took over a country, the renegades would have to come and help, mainly since he had killed almost all of the other super hero teams out there near him, and the rest are frightened.

Ashe stood up, "You can't go sacrificing yourself? Don't you have like a wife and kids?" he asked, "Think of them" he yelled out.

Sorry for not posting in so long! I was dragged along on a family vacation... Hope my post seems up to speed :S

Ana started to wake up... She stirred her magic, trying to force energy through her body, something was wrong. Her powers were being internally blocked, and she could feel a dark fog surrounding her powers... It would take some meditation to heal herself...

At some point Ana felt herself being lifted by someone and carried... She could smell blood and hear fighting in the distance... She slept again after that...

The only thing that she remembered was a woman's voice saying;
"Well, well Analiese... My favourite white mage... but you're so young... You know, you have always been my favourite play toy..." Before Ana had had any time to respond, a black fog surrounded her and everything faded into unconsciousness...

It must have been a long time since that happened. She knew from the muffled voices and sounds that she was somewhere else, and that there were many people in the room. The floor was cold and her limbs were still sore, but she began to move.
'Agh...I wont be able to use my powers for a while... This is like black magic... Strong too... I feel so weak... If I try to heal anyone like this... I could die... And I might hurt them too....' Ana struggled and sat up, when she opened her eyes fuzzy dots swam in her vision. 'Definitely an induced concusion...'

Ana could see that many of her new friends were present, and she felt relieved... But where was Magus...?

The mystery woman is Shadow, an enemy of Charmer's future self. I've cleared it with dragon and will be posting her character sheet shortly.

Age:36

Power:Is a dark mage. Was trained by white mages, but was tainted by the promise of power. She trained her self in the ways of dark magic, and now uses her knowledge to steal both life energy and power away from others. She has perfected a technique which allows her to target vital nerve points, draining them of energy and thus leaving the victim paralyzed. Depending upon the victim, this may last up to 24 hours. Her powers, unlike Charmer's glowing white light, appear as a thick and murky gray fog. To perform a paralisis, she needs to touch her victim in a stabbing movement.
When Shadow uses her powers she becomes temporarily vulnerable, as she can only focus on one target. This gives opponents seconds to attack.

Biography:Shadow was raised by the same white mages as Ana, she was taken, at a young age, by dark mages, and used as a weapon. With a lust for power that cannot be beaten and a need for praise, Shadow was furious when Ana was called the chosen one... A pure mage, with the power to save lives. Because to Shadow Ana is a disgusting human who has stolen her place in the magic community, she has sworn revenge, and will do everything in her power to destroy Charmer.
