Wattson was always infuriating on RSE, as were Tate and Liza (aka Shoe-Horning-In-Of-Double-Battles-The-Gym-Version).
I also hated the Elite 4 person with Ghosts, although that WAS because I was trying to solo it with Blaziken (and failing miserably)

On the latest game there's not actually one who I find irritating, strangely.

Fuck you. Fuck you and your damned Steelix that rapes my Typhlosion every damned time I go through there, regardless of how many times I grind it to death.
You make Whitney, Clair, Giovvani, Wattson, and Flannery a pleasure to go up against.
Typhlosion loses to Steelix? That should be one of the easiest fights in the game if you have a good Fire type with a special attack. Steelix has obscene phys. defense, but its Special defense is barely worth mentioning.

It doesn't help that her bloody Magnemite either paralyze him, soften him up, or if they get a critical hit, kill it.

And then if THAT fails, the attack will miss, Steelix will go first, or it'll endure the first hit and MURDER me with one of it's moves.

Plus, there's the second Magnemite that goes around after the Steelix. Which almost ALWAYS takes out whatever isn't already down for the count.

Still. If your Cyndaquil is a Typhlosion, that means it's already at level 36, which means it knows Lava Plume - and given Typhlosion's above-average speed and pretty beastly Special Attack, it should be able to 1shot the Magnemites. It's true that if Steelix survives and hits it with an EQ it's probably sunk, but in that case all you do is switch to one of your other guys when she sends in Steelix, soften it up enough so that Typhlosion can come in and finish the fight in one blow.

Whitney every time. Clair comes close because she's just an elitist ***** but by the time you get to there you have plenty of effective, levelled up types against her.

It happens to me a bunch. No matter how long or how much I play a game, I'll still suck at it more than a pool's filtration system.

........ Hold up. *Googles Lava Plume*

Ah. There we go. I'm talking about generation 2. Gold, Silver, & Crystal.
............... Yeah.

haven't played popkemon in a long time, i have the old yellow version for the gameboy colour, the first guy was terrible, a rock gym leader first, your best guy only has electric attacks which don't work, then you have these little rat guys that only tackle and bloody cacoons that only hardenor tackle. you had to either raise one or the bugs to level 10, or do what i did as a kid and get all of your guys to about level 15 just to beat the first guy. at the point that i could beat him a was able to just destroy the next like three gym leaders without losing more than two guys.

Clair could be a *****. I can't stand Miltank woman either (Whitney)?

Otherwise Gym Leaders are pants. You have to really underlevel to make them any challenge and even then you've still got a mighty change of winning.

1. I don't have a DS.
2. My money supply is low enough, and I still need to preorder New Vegas.
3. I am not a pirate.
4. None of my friends have it.
5. I liked generation 2 the best and don't feel like ruining it with the addition of....... things like Probopass or Licky Licki.
6. I'm thinking with portals.
