Combat Mission games from Battlefront. A smaller developer, but if you can get past the below par presentation it's actually a challenging (Multiplayer) and 'realistic' RTS. No base building etc. Also the different factions operate differently with their own strengths and weaknesses. Especially in the modern era iteration.

was full throttle popular? if not then i guess that would be it. i would say shining force but apparently that was popular enough to have sega make a spiritual successor a few years ago.

Conker's Bad Fur Day. Pretty sure no one played that game, but I was like 12 so it was naughty and hilarious. Opera singing poo FTW!

Obviously (based on purchases) Psychonauts will be a big one and that goes for me as well, but I also love Shenmue II and Breakdown for Xbox.
Came to say Breakdown, Shinigamer beat me to it in one, though. The twist is worth the really hard initial difficulty.

Second Sight also rules, because of it's own twist, and because I actually like Vattic.

No love for Lord of the Rings: The Third Age? That game was the closest Final Fantasy and LOTR came to being one. Including an end boss that requires huge amounts of grinding (Balrog!)

Cryostasis. I'm playing it and it's awesome. Shame not many know about it.

Second Sight is a lost gem of a game. I love it.

This, Loved that game I have no idea why I gave it away.

[small] besides the fact I beat it 16 times, but now I want to play it again :([/small]

Guilty Gear XX series. Best designed fighting game series ever. No game comes close to having as much depth, variety and character balance at the same time.

Arguably these are popular in niche markets, hence why they have so many sequels for each of these.
In no particular order:
Romance of the 3 kingdoms series
Legacy of Kain series
Suikoden series

Final Fantasy? Unpopular? *scoffs, then turns to look at a copy of Crystal Chronicles* On second thought, maybe there's something to that. That's not one of my favorite unpopular games, though.

Shadowgate series and definitely Soul Nomad and the World Eaters. Fantastic game.

Dammit ninja'd. I ove that game, even it's rather odd ending. The whole thing has such an amazing atmosphere to it not to mention some brillaint tension.

Accent core plus has become one of my favorite fighting games ever made. Great artwork and unparalleled gameplay. This is pretty much street fighter on speed and acid, therefore not making it lame and generic. Chipp Zanuff FTW!!

Bahamut Lagoon, although it was only released and japan (translated ROM), it was an awesome SRPG. Great story and solid gameplay.

Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars, an amazing GBA game with a story that rivals that of some console games. Also another kick ass strategy game.

Ogre battle/Tatics Ogre, more awesome SRPG goodness with amazing stories. It was the Final Fantasy Tactics before final fantasy tactics.

"Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire" for the N64! Does anyone remember that game? If you ask like 10 people, maybe one of them will usually say like - "oh yeah, maybe I rented it once...."
But that game was awesome, one of the first N64 releases, I remember searching every level for hours looking for all the challenge points to unlock cheat codes. That was when cheat codes were still cool.

I'll probably get a lot of flack for this, but the three newer spyro games were pretty good as far as mindless beat 'em ups go. Eternal Night was a particularly fun little romp.
