Psychonauts, which is a popular one here.
I don't know if people bought it, but i like Cooking Mama on the wii. i get to play it at my friend's house for free, so that makes it a bit cooler.
and other stuff i don't remember.

Anybody remember this game?

It's a headache to play multiplayer.
Yeah, i remember that! It was a cool idea, and i'd love to see something like that in HD.
And i'm probably going to sound like a broken record here, but Terranigma. One of the greatest RPGs ever, but stuff all people even know about. C'mon Squeenix, if you're going to do endless remakes, how about showing some loving to something that isn't Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest?

Pariah... some FPS on the orginal xbox which I thought was awesome because it had a level editor (Which all console games should have).

I risk gamer suicide every time I mention it...

but I genuinely enjoyed Final Fantasy X-2. It didn't take itself as seriously as the others, and there were some really surprising good bits when you looked at the Crimson Squad side-plot. It was just a fun way to kill time.

Don't worry, I got your back yo! Just get in behind my awesome Flame Shield +2 and we'll slowly back outta here... I enjoyed FFX-2 as well. It was nice to have the ATB sped up. It felt more dynamic than say, FFIX. And since FFX was on permanent easy mode, it proved to be a slightly more challenging game (though still not hard in the grand scheme).
Unless you were playing a New Game Plus with the Iron Duke already, I'd say the Via Infinito was hard x3 I had everything just about maxed (Alchemist was being a right ass), had all the good accessories, and STILL barely made it. I think the time I finally beat it, I only had Paine still alive.

And I agree, the ATB of X-2 was the best battle system they had until the did XII's.

Most of you don't know what leastp opular games are, FFX, second sight, frontlines? HAH.

I wouldn't even consider braid, or sins, as being "least popular".

Anyway, Forged Alliance KIND OF is, while I liked BF2142 (still play it), BF:Modern Combat was good, (It's sequel, mislabelled BF:Bad Company 2 is coming out soon), I thought golden eye was unpopular but that's wrong, Harvest: Massive Encounter, Achron soon.

Abe's Oddysee. All the rest I would consider semi-popular, AvP2, Heroes of Newerth (before it was cool).

If you don't know even one of these games then you are by no means a gamer, at least not by Australian standards, AT ALL, except for maybe harvest as that's an indie game (BUT THEY'RE STILL GOOD).

Hmmmm... alot of this stuff is rather popular. Anything by Square is popular by default. I'm not saying that it is all nessesarily good, just popular. Maybe Bushido Blade was unpopular, as well as Tobal and some of their other non-rpg games, but you got a pretty solid list there of games people know and love. Suikoden is in the same basket. 4 might have strayed from the golden recipe and was the low point of the series, but it's still immensely popular among fans. Psychonauts is popular enough that it doesn't belong on this list either. Conkers bad fur day was a classic that many enjoyed back in the day, and you can find it easily enough because it was popular.

Legend of Legaia was rather hard to find back in the day. I own it and it's superior sequel.

Shadow Madness is my unknown gem of my ps1. I've never seen another copy of this game. I've never heard anybody else speak praises of it, but I pull it out every year to play it through one more time. The graphics and sound are nothing special, but the plot and characters make the game worth playing. Imagine for a moment, a game where you get 6 party members but only have 3 in your battle group. That's pretty standard these days with the other three in the back row reserve or some nonesense like that. In this game you actually have 2 active parties of 3 travelling the world in parallel and going to different locations. You swap teams at inns or after certain events, and each has their own inventory that you can swap between parties when they meet up. Your characters are all rather interesting, and some of them catch your main guys smartass attitude by the end of the game. A plague is spreading across the land, so every time you come back from one of your missions to the main town you find that some people have died and most everyone has something new to say.

Shadow Hearts was an extremely fun game, but you would be hard pressed to find a copy of Koldelka for the ps1. Another unpopular gem. I do find that Shadow hearts 1 and 2 is a vastly superior game. Although Shadow Hearts 2 has the most depressing 'GOOD' ending I have ever wasted my time getting. Shadow Hearts: to the new world seems like it really hates you, since your party is full of lame gimmick characters that normally make up the minority of your team in the other games. It's hard to enjoy a game when all your characters are kids, pets, mascots and circus performers. Made me miss Yuri all over again.

Shadow of Memories (PS2) and Creatures 2 (PC).

One was a ***** to find, and the other one won't work on Vista. Bad times.

Without a doubt, Kane And Lynch: Dead Men. Probably followed by either Psychonauts, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (I bought a Gamecube just for that, I wasn't disappointed) or Silent Hill 2.

Edit: Oh, and Rune: Viking Warlord.

For me it would have to be the Shin Megami Tensei series.

Yeah, all the ATLUS fans worship it, but the rest of the world tends to ignore the series so much, which is a shame as it is a very strong series.

Megami Tensei 1 and 2 were fairly revolutionary NES games, (I'd love to play them, but I can't read Japanese... :( ), and Shin Megami Tensei 1 and 2 are pretty good games on the snes, (but they are very hard!)

Persona is a little weak, but I have enjoyed the little I've played of Persona 2 and Persona 3, (I don't personally own them, a friend of mine has them, but the games cost quite a bit to get). I should imagine Persona 4 is up to standards as well.

Shin Megami Tensei 3 though, is an excellent PS2 game. I bought it for a £5 from HMV and its was an absolute bargain.

I just love present day apocalyptia vibe you get from the games.

The most easy to get, but arguably still falls under the curse, is SMT: Devil Survivor on the DS.
Its a spinoff, that plays quite differently from its older siblings, and its fairly short for an RPG, but it is one hell of a game I highly recommend playing!

Its only flaw, is that you have to play through the whole game again to get the endings, (which may not seems so bad, but in New game + you are so ridiculously overpowered its just a drag, despite the vey good story!).

EDIT: Also, all of the Oddworld games are great games too! I want another game in the series so bad, or even a movie/tv series would be nice.

EDIT 2: Again, another one: Panzer Dragoon Orta. The only arcade shooter that compares to the epic Star Fox 64!!

Age of Wonders.
Perhaps not completely obscure, but not a blockbuster either. Regardless, it is a brilliant game that I play to this day.

Master of Orion 3. It's release was a flop, but I like the system. Besides, a galactic empire just doesn't feel right until you're scrapping 40,000 Super Dreadnoughts because the newer bigger ships are rolling out of the space docks by the thousands...

Planescape: Torment is an iffy choice... I loved it, and I've never met anyone who has played it and not liked it, but it was a flop; not many people have ever played it because so few copies exist.

Ah, yeah. 7th Saga. I think I've only ever met like 3 people who've ever played that game (and 2 were online).

Also, Bushido Blade 2. Awesome, brutal, and the only reason my friends have ever heard of it is because my roommate introduced them to it.

Chaos Gate and Mark of Chaos. Very fun strategy games, Mark of Chaos being severely hampered by not having a single-player skirmish mode, however.

X-Com: Apocalypse (and the first 2, I guess). Probably my favorite squad-combat game ever. The best gun is a little broken, but the enemies can still throw you a curve from time to time on higher difficulties.

I love this guy, but it is not very popular. But you can fly a mini helicopter and shoot almost everything out of it. What more could you want?
I played this one.
Fairly good.
Wouldn't call it unpopular though, there are people online.

The original Spellforce trilogy. It had the worst voice acting I'd ever heard and almost immediately uninstalled it when i heard the character's first speak, but I decided to persevere and continue playing. I was immensely surprised, as it had a huge epic storyline, the RTS sections were familiar enough that it was easy to play and yet different enough that it wasn't just a warcraft clone, and the RPG elements of the game were blended into the game seamlessly, and excellent graphics for it's time. In the end though the atmosphere was what really immersed me in the world of Spellforce and made me want to continue playing until the end. Unfortunately I was then greeted to a terrible ending cinematic which was really an anti-climax to the entire thing, which is really a shame because the opening cinematic was really cool. Besides the main plot though there was a Open Game mode that actually had it's own mini-campaign included, which was a great bonus.

The voice acting unfortunately just continued to get worse as the sequels went on, with Shadow of the Phoenix having the worst, and the ending cinematics were always disappointing.
