Versus being a ***** for Microsoft/Linux/Mac? Only way that argument holds water is if you programmed your own operating system which also runs games. If not, you're just a ***** to a friendlier company. If so, more power to ya.

At least in case of Microsoft and Linux Foundations, they don't own my computer and don't dictate what I can or can't setup and use in it. I have no knowledge regarding Apple though.

Again, things I never hear from car affecionados or home builders, but I get told quite often around here. Toys inspire such fanaticism, and I don't get it...

I think that has something to do with new chips (new generation) come out every 1-2 years, cars come every 4-8 years, and homes last a life time.

So chips get very short time in the spot light.

I am PC gamer and i'm not proud of it because i couldnt afford even playstation 2 now.I had in my home only one game console(besides Tetris handheld) first Sega(to some Dandy) and i feel that my Pc (besides work( is greater because i hawe a bad console experience. I would want to hate other game consoles because they are different but i can't because i am not presumptuos, ergo you cant(well you can like most PC(and only) gamers) hate(and i mean really hate(like burning on a dirty stick made of old socks and livers) something when you hawent tried it.

I can't be too sure why. From what I observed, some people are so into their preferences that they will use them as a weapon. Again I don't see the point. I'm of the mindset that you can be proud of your preferences within a varied medium, such as gaming, without conflict or disdain for the other aspects of that medium.

On the software level you are right, games are games, and we all are playing games not MS Excel spreadsheets.

It is the hardware level where things get messy (at least for me, maybe I am minority amongst PC gamers)
Because consoles are slavery
While slavers have done few magnificent things (Pyramids, Coliseum, etc.), I don't like slavery.
Similarly with consoles- few good things, have plenty of bad counterparts.
Want to modify your console? You aren't allowed, because you only borrowed it from MS/Sony/Nintendo.

And with games? You can install whatever you want, but if you want to play the majority of games you NEED to have their operating system, or their client, or their codex. The greatest prison is one that the prisoner forgets they're in.

You are talking about technical limitations (have you even seen Win3.1.1. ?)
I am talking about being forbidden to do something (can you install/run RAMdisc on your PS3 or use mods for Minecraft on X360? Maybe. Are you allowed to do that? No.)

You're seriously implying that Escapist, the site which hosts a pundit who did a show that said "Consoles are just crap PC's" is really biased towards console users?

Seriously, guy?

1) They are. It's fact, not opinion.

2) He doesn't start 100 threads a week making sweeping generalizations about a whole group based on the minority.

3) You must have not watched his video or totally missed the point. He was making the point that the supposed advantages of having a console of the old days are disappearing and adopting the downsides of PC gaming without any of the benefits. It wasn't an attack on you or any other console player, but a simple statement of fact.

4) Mods will allow threads like these to exist unpunished but immediately knock down anyone make the opposite thread. How often do you see some elitist PC gamer making a thread about how you're a stupid child versus the number of threads like these? Basically it's ok to attack a group as long as it's "PC elitists". Any other group "Hey there, THAT'S NOT NICE" /ban. They're inconsistent with their "don't be a jerk" policy.

Finally, chill the hell out. I can't understand for the life of me why you're taking all this so personally. Your jimmies are unnecessarily rustled over basically nothing. I haven't done or said anything to you, yet you act as if it's personal and make a comment directed towards me that comes off snarky and emotional.

The weirdest thing that they say, from my point of view, is the overpriced games part. I understand that PC gaming has its advantages, but from a financial standpoint (speaking as a married father of two with a very low gaming budget), it seems like PC gaming is actually MORE expensive, due to the fact that almost every 6 months you have to update your system to play the newer games, and I can play a PS3 for years, or the WiiU (again, family man, we have a Wii for the kids to play, and thus already have four controllers for the next system to save me that $200+, lol) and still have games that they make for the console for years and years.

I do, all the time. It's called ignorant hate filled people, particularly on this site, who sling around the word elitist simply because some people have an appreciation for computer hardware on the enthusiasts level.

How do you think I feel when someone like the OP starts with sweeping generalizations about the people who share my particular hobby like they're the plague of the earth? I'm certainly not happy with it, especially considering how easy it is to get away with it on the escapist. Yet despite all that, I don't go on a post rampage.
