Less repitition. For me, L4D gets quite repetitive. Maybe they could add a feature that, kinda inspired by the Director, randomly sets attributes to hordes/single/small groups of zombies, so one time you'll have a hoarde of average zombies running at you, the next half a horde and the other half zombies that take twice the damage to kill. Next time you play, zombies that move very fast attack you. Oh, and the ability to pick up nigh on ANY inanimate object and bludgeon a zombie's head in with it. From things like a clock, to my computer's speakers.

Seriously though all those melee weapons and they almost identical, not to mention they never break, it's silly.
Actually, melee weapons were supposed to have limited use and break, but playtesters found it annoying.

Anyway, I'd like to see something in a winter setting. Because A: Zombie Santa (if they felt like internet references, Zombie Santa Christ?), and B: I've NEVER seen anything showing zombies in the snow.

... except for the total of two references in A Series of Unfortunate Events to an in-universe movie of that name.
Isn't that the point thought? I mean, reloading and running out of ammo frustrates me o_O

Also, I agree with the snow thing, snow is awesome!

location: Las Vegas-campaigns with the sunset strip, Stratosphere, the desert, and definitely The hoover Dam.
Survivors: make them standard Sin City fare, a call girl, a Blackjack dealer, a tourist, and a high roller.
Weapon: gives us more mods for guns, a vehicle or two retrofitted just for zombie killing, and some more ridiculous melee weapons like a mace
I think cliche' is actually a critical motif for Left 4 Dead.

They figured they shouldn't add any more annoyances? Melee weapons were the only thing that saved my ass in a few situations, if they broke, I'd be pissed xD

I'd go with a compromise, though- weapons do not break on easy, break after 30 uses on Normal, 20 on Hard, and the original five use maximum on Expert. Or, there can be a setting for melee weapons breaking. -shrug-

But that's just my thought xD

Wow, did people even see that he wasn't talking about episode three? We get it, people want ep. 3, now can you all just shut the hell up about it? Games take time! They can't just pull a good game out of their ass, and if they did, you'll still whine because "They over hyped it", even if they didn't hype it at all! Sorry, sorry, a bit of nerd rage.

Anyway, maybe add a few different areas, just one or two new special infected, give it far better graphics, and it would be great.

um how about MAKING THEM FUCKING ZOMBIES because you know zombies don't run they shamble and are killed by headshots only, if that happened wite left for dead's hordes i would buy that
How would that work in a fast paced first person shooter? Imagine how tedious and boring it would be. Even now if you're good at the game you can speed right past the zombies. Making them even slower would just be like sitting around waiting for them to get closer and closer. You could walk right through the levels without having to kill a single one.

I find it funny how people argue what constitutes a real zombie when they don't even exist...
imagine thousands blocking the street the lamps flickering your rifle bullets running low and as the infected slowly but surley get closer and closer until finaly.......

by shambling i mean a speed walking pace and have the attacks being instant kill with the special infected being controllers of the horde
make the paths less linear and more bogged down with infected and no firsta aid and when you fall down someone needs to support you for the rest of the way

actually no then everyone would leave you for dead wouldnt they
This game you have in your head sounds a lot like Dead Rising to me. You'd enjoy it and its upcoming sequel.

It was actually that low? o_O
I was actually thinking of maybe having them break after 30+ 'zombie connections' on say.. advanced?

Nope, it was originally a five-use thing.

Now can you see why they scrapped the limited use idea for everything but the chainsaw? xD

Would like to see Rockstar do a sandbox treatment with zombies. make it difficult to get from point a to b and make ammo very scarce.
I think that would be an awesome idea for a game. Unless you count Dead Rising like that.

O.T. I think there needs to be a part where you have to get across a lake. While getting across there is a zombie that looks like a cross between a human and a crocodile. He comes out of the water and grabs you and drags you down into the water. At that time your team has to shoot through the water and kill him befor you lose all your health. Once you are free you have to swim over to your friends where you grab onto a ledge or something and you have to be pulled up ( like when you are hanginig on the side of a building).

I think they'll leave L4D3 for the next engine.

I don't think putting in extremely random variation in the abilities of Common Infected is a really good thing, but more Uncommon Common like the Riot or the Clown Infected would be good. Maybe one like an infected that lost its legs but still moves extremely fast on the ground just using its arms. Obviously would be obscured by the standing hordes and could pose a minor inconvenience to the Survivors.

Anyway, what'd I like to see, in terms of gameplay are some more mechanics geared towards teamwork. I'm not saying stuff like crouching to give someone a boost.

But maybe something like if a Survivor is extremely low on health or incapacitated on the ground, another player could help him out, like, if, I dunno, one survivor's limping along in the teens in terms of health points, one survivor could help him over into a safer area, like, just help him stand with one arm, at the expense of only being able to use one pistol.

If the survivor's incapacitated, the other player could do like a Fireman's Carry, with the expense of neither player being able to use weapons.

Or at least just let people toss medkits to each other, like pills.

In terms of setting, maybe the Midwest or the West Coast would work nicely, but not cornfields or anything. Las Vegas would be neat to see, or maybe L.A..

Maybe expand on that whole Nick's Ring/Francis' Tattoo/whoever gets the design in Part 3 thing? Or make one of the Survivors a CEDA employee, see where that goes. Make one campaign about him/her goading the survivors to help him break into a lab or government building or something to steal samples or supplies or the like with the promise of an evac chopper.

Maybe send them through a zoo. The virus's been proven lethal to other animals but if it's mutated before, they can mutate again. Make some of the special infected in the zoo campaign animals. Gorillas or elephants for the Tank or Charger, a koala for the Jockey, etc.

When he says that he is talking to the pilot who is going to fly you out of there. Hes is asking if the pilot is prepared to take care of carriers if the survivors are like that.

I still say they should consider re-implementing it, but at least let them last through a panic event. XD

Dare I mention it... Even the Sword/Hammer in Halo 3 is better implemented, that makes me a sad panda =(

Play as a common infected during your "you will spawn in...." screen where all you can do is run/claw
New game types - perhaps one where if you 'die' you do become a zombie
A cure?
Maybe a level where you have to work your way off of a boat where the longer you take the more infected/special infected you have to face with the doors that aren't locked being randomly generated.

Alright, I don't know if this thread has been done before, but it probably has. I searched Left 4 Dead 3 and nothing came up.

The other day, I was on Left 4 Dead 2 and my teammate and I were just talking and he brought up the idea of Left 4 Dead 3 being in the mountains. And it sounded like a great idea. What we came up with was Left 4 Dead 3 taking place in snowy mountains somewhere and this time having vehicles like snowmobiles and snowboards. It also takes place well after the infection because all the people who hadn't been infected decided to go up into the mountains to hide from the zombies in low populated areas... but because of this, the low populated areas become highly populated areas and the infection makes its way up to them so there wouldn't be any shortage of zombies. Just think about all the possibilities for this... There could be a ski lift crescendo event, burrowing special infected, and vehicles.

What do you think should be in Left 4 Dead 3?

Also, don't mention Episode 3... everyone knows that it's taking them a long time to make it, but every thread about Valve or their games doesn't need to have Episode 3 mentioned... it's not going to make it come out any faster. Do you hear that? Don't mention the games that Valve isn't making/is currently working on! DO NOT MENTION THEM HERE. If you want to complain about it, do it somewhere else. This is a thread about what you would like to see in Left 4 Dead 3 should they decide to make it. We all know it's taking them a long time to make Episode 3 and we all know that they are working on other games right now like Portal 2 and Counter-Strike: Source updates. This is not a thread about Episode 3! THIS IS NOT A THREAD ABOUT EPISODE 3, SO PLEASE DO NOT MENTION IT!
Episode Three.

Also, the equipment required to survive in a mountainous environment, plus the fact that it is very difficult to survive for a long period of time in a single cold-weather environment, would make the game ridiculously unrealistic and have no continuity with the previous games, not that there was much of either before now.

That does sound like mad fun. Snowboarding/Skiing down a mountain with an avalanche of zombies rushing behind you and some special infected trying to jump out of snow and ambush you? DO WANT.

It could be rather cool, I imagine. And people would once again whine about characters. I bet the next game will have at least one Asian survivor, by the way.

Actually, after seeing Left 4 Dead 2's multi-state trek, and going through it myself?

The route from mid-Ohio to Buffalo NY in the middle of winter. Would allow for vehicle sections, or at least interesting escape vehicles, is terrifying as hell when snowstorms kick up, nice scenery, and terrifying as hell when snowstorms kick up.

Seriously. It could be awesome.

I recommend they let it go in 3... Seriously I'm tired of the whole zombie subject. Let's kill skeletons or something instead.
Yep. You are right. Left for dead 1 & 2 were fun to play, but how much more do you want to squeeze out of a zombie shooter?
Resident Evil 25?

*Edit*
OT: they can always just wait a bit for this to become a classic-ish game and actually put out Half-Life 2 Ep 3 or maybe even Half-life 3 then come back to this.
