Seriously though all those melee weapons and they almost identical, not to mention they never break, it's silly.
Actually, melee weapons were supposed to have limited use and break, but playtesters found it annoying.

Anyway, I'd like to see something in a winter setting. Because A: Zombie Santa (if they felt like internet references, Zombie Santa Christ?), and B: I've NEVER seen anything showing zombies in the snow.

... except for the total of two references in A Series of Unfortunate Events to an in-universe movie of that name.
Isn't that the point thought? I mean, reloading and running out of ammo frustrates me o_O

Also, I agree with the snow thing, snow is awesome!
They figured they shouldn't add any more annoyances? Melee weapons were the only thing that saved my ass in a few situations, if they broke, I'd be pissed xD

I'd go with a compromise, though- weapons do not break on easy, break after 30 uses on Normal, 20 on Hard, and the original five use maximum on Expert. Or, there can be a setting for melee weapons breaking. -shrug-

But that's just my thought xD

Nope, it was originally a five-use thing.

Now can you see why they scrapped the limited use idea for everything but the chainsaw? xD
I still say they should consider re-implementing it, but at least let them last through a panic event. XD

Dare I mention it... Even the Sword/Hammer in Halo 3 is better implemented, that makes me a sad panda =(
I'd be fine with it as long as it only showed up sparingly, or was only available on higher difficulties xD Maybe adrenaline could cause breakage? You're so pumped you don't realize how strongly you're swinging the axe and it snaps or something xD

Or it could get stuck in an infected. -imagines a Tank with a crowbar jammed into its back-

more story? I just feel KILL ZOMBIES isn't enough for sequels, and while ValvE does cool story elements within its games, L4D teases with its opening cutscene but sorta just ignores it after that (oh unfortunately I haven't played the second game yet)
more dynamic stuff like driving the get-away vehicle while others are gunners...so the end of the level isn't just a cutscene where you see the boat toot away

I don't know though, 20 hits on Exp, 35 on Adv, 50 on normal and unbreakable on easy? Make it that when they break you automatically get your pistol back? Makes it so you never end up unarmed. Heck, you pull a pistol out of your arse when you get incapped with a melee weapon anyway =3

I could see that working... they have pistol holsters, or you could just jam it into your jeans in a pinch. -shrug- Not the most unrealistic thing in the game xD
