David Tennant is crazy enough to play the Riddler, we saw how funny he was in DR. Who, with his sarcy remarks, that is what the Riddler is, he would play it perfectly, just like Jim Carrey did.

OTT won't work. Carrey did that.

It would have been like trying to recreate Jack Nicholson Joker for Dark Knight.

A stripped back to basics would work, and the core of the Riddler's character is a sociopath with extreme OCD. Someone who HAS to solve puzzles, regardless of anyone in the way and what happens to them.


And as for Tennant in Hollywood, they should NEVER have gone for remaking Fright Night! Only good thing about it is that it'll be easier to get the originals on DVD >.<

I think it's probably best to wait for an official announcement. We're giving some people aneurisms and homicidal tendencies with all this speculation. (See Shawshanker's post) Let's just wait for Mr. Nolan to tell us what he has decided.

(Having Tennant as the riddle would be a good fit though, in my opinion)

Pretty much this as well. Nothing against Leo, I'm just not sure if he would be right for the movie? Just wondering but who would you want to be the Riddler for the next movie?

I don't know much about comics and such: Is the joker a brooding villain who was traumatized by a past event involving the death of his wife? If so, DiCaprio has had plenty of practice for the role...

The Joker in a nutshell is a tough one.

The Joker is the Joker. Even HE doesn't know his backstory! (which says a lot about the character really)

I can't really see DiCaprio as the Riddler, he's a good actor but I just don't think he suits the part.

The original three film plan (spoiled after Batman Begins when a journo got Bale drunk) was that the second and third films would both feature the Joker and Two Face.

The first of them would focus on the Joker, with the creation of Two Face (turned out to be true).

The second would have a minor role for the Joker and a lead villain role for Two Face.



If this did pan out, I could see the Riddler replacing the Joker's minor role. They're both thinking man's villains (although very different in style)
