There is no end to this, I mean why sell the public one kind of console when you can sell them three slightly different consoles ?

I never understood the console wars, anyway. Everyone knows PCs are better, PC gamers are better, and console gamers live in their mother's basements\attics.

As Yahtzee (zero punctuation) pointed out: their moms will only buy 1 console and thus they will flame everyone who even remotelely suggests that the other one is any good. Those people like to force their own world where "you don't miss out with just having one console".
For me, I don't have any of the current generation consoles
. Getting a console before you know if you'll like any of the games or series of games only leads to great frustration when you find out you don't like the games on it. That frustration might the sole fuel for the console war.

The singular chip is more poweful yes, but PS3 packs more of them so it brings more horsepower to the table.MaxP779 said:
Problem comes with it's architecture, while the 360 is nearly identical to a PC(where all tools and games were developed for ages and are easily transferable) the PS3 on the other hand is a completely different structure that takes a different approach.
So when you try to squeeze out the best graphics with steady performance it comes down to optimizing your game, something that comes alot easier with a well known platform, thus they just end up doing a half arsed job on the PS3 and due to it's higher power it will still be alright but rarely be improved.
I don't think anyone genuinely believes what they say in a console war.

I have both a PS3 and 360 and use them equally as much...ish. I have started using the PS3 more lately since I downloaded FF7. I remember playing that the day it came out in NZ, and the anger when my brother broke the first disc!
In the end, no one truly cares that isn't under the age of 19. Not saying all under 19's care, but very, very, very few people over 19 do.

I think there should be an ammendedment to 360 having "bad graphics". It has lesser graphics. I can make my 360 run 1080i on my tv (it can go to 1080p). Someone tell me how this is bad consideirng I'm making my xbox run higher than the standard default (720p)of most PS3 games?
Me and my brother got FFXIII on either console, and were waiting turns to play after eachother and could not tell the difference. The only difference was that FFXIII was one disc on the PS3, and changing disc isn't a great hassle.

I personaly own a 360 but dont play with it (I,m mostly as PC gamer) I DONT care if my friend owns a PS3 or WII he stays my friend and isnt lesser for owning a other console I hope we dont have to go through this shit with the next generation (20$ says that we whould have this again with the next generation)

I really don't see the point of he console wars. People go out of their way to defend their console, while it should be the companies that should be bending over backwards to make sure you keep paying for their product.
Instead of defending the xbox people should be whining to Microsoft for some of the cool stuff the PS3 has. vice versa.

Just putting it out there, but the Wii has some fine first party games that succeed based on their own merits. Like Monster Hunter 3, a fantastic game that Nintendo had seemingly stolen directly off the (figurative) plates of PS3 owners. Heck, Monster Hunter 3 proved that using friend codes for online was purely optional.Kagim said:

People love competition in all forms. It's not an accident that Sony and Microsoft market their consoles against each other, it's because it's good for business.
Even the average consumer has the pride to want to be right when somebody else is wrong, so if there's two options some are gonna try to justify one over the other.

No console can stand up to the awesome might of the SEGA Megadrive! Tremble before its magnificence for you do not deserve to be in its presence.
On a serious note: don't care either way; the only thing that swayed me towards the 360 more than the PS3 was that I could afford the 360 at the time. For me, the games aren't all that different between them, they share most of their library so I never feel like I'm missing out on much.

at the very most it's irritating. mostly it's about having the maturity to shake your head at dum asses and learning to walk away.

Both consoles have their strong points, and weaknesses. Neither is superior. I only own a Xbox 360 because it was a gift. Anyone who says one is better than the other isn't doing their console justice. Truthfully, I didn't think the fanboys will still at it.
