Honestly, he sounded like my uncle's bad impersonation of an gangster from the 1920s' to me. And keep in mind, this was a really, really bad one.
Well that's what made it funny, it was like a living charicature of a 20's gangster. Plus the snazzy suit and a sweet pistol.

EDIT: Oh, and I finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I chose the
Anti-augmentation one as my ending
That was Taggert's, right?

To be honest I would probably go with Sarif, which seems to be the closest to "canon" as far as the original Deus Ex goes (that's one problem with prequels).
He was almost a too much a 20s' gangster for my taste.

And no, that ending was for Hugh Darrow. Taggert is the Illuminati one.

I think they're going to declare the explosion or the Sarif one canon. Or they'll pull a Deus Ex 1 and make them all canon, somehow (That's what I've read. I've never actually played the game)

Well, he was a tribal before becoming a Vegas strip family, so maybe he was still getting used to the lingo...and style.

Ah yes, I got "anti-augmentation" mixed up with "strict augmentation".

Personally, I kinda agree with Darrow's view. Sure, he did so for mildly selfish reasons (or very selfish), but I see their point. Augmentations made the world better in some ways, and worse in others.

My bet is the "canon" ending will be that the station exploded, but Adam somehow survived.

Have you ever played Deus Ex 1 or Invisible War?

I have played the first one but not all the way through. However, it really doesn't seem like people have given up on augmentations as people everywhere still seem to have them.

Also, when you finished HR did you sit through all of the credits?

Yeah. So any other ending other than that is likely what is considered canon

And of course I did. But please. Call me Bob

I always love how the white Khan (the one on our right) looks like he's tripping on Psycho in the opening cinematic. Those eyes. Therein lies insanity.

Also of note: if not for his trademark suit, I'd would not have recognized Benny. He looks so different in the cinematic than he does in-game.

But overall, I love the intro. "The game was rigged from the start". I love that line. Reminds me of a line in a Titus Andronicus song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOl8nGbmJ5A]: "You ain't never been no virgin, kid. You were fucked from the start"

I think he (Jessup) is, considering when you meet him he has both psycho in his possession and nearby when you meet him at Boulder City.

True. I forgot it was the same guy. But then again, a good many of the Khans are addicts. They're not quite Fiends, but they are definitely the second druggiest faction in New Vegas...unless you count Dr Mobius.

Have you read All Roads? It was the graphic novel bundled into the Collector's Edition. It's implied the drugs trade runs through Vegas at all levels in it; Benny assassinates a singer who kept suggesting the Chairmen should head back out into the Mojave with a Psycho overdose, and one of the Khans who he takes to intercept the Courier is utterly strung out on chems, to the point where he charges a Fiend whilst having his skin blasted off with a Flamer, and he just shrugs it off. The Khans' solution when he starts getting jittery from withdrawal? Yet more chems!

Also, don't the Khans make the drugs and then sell them to the Fiends? I'm pretty sure if you're disguised as a Khan, you can waltz into Vault 3 without a Speech check.

I didn't know All Roads existed. I never thought about getting the Collector's Edition to New Vegas, since I was apprehensive towards the game before it came out (because I hated Fallout 3).

There is a drug lab in Red Rock Canyon. Jack and Diane run it.

I haven't read All Roads but I've read about it on the FO wiki and I think I'd like to get my hands on it. Also, my two cents on Benny's gangster accent: I liked it. It was appropriate and even though it didn't feel quite right sometimes, I think it worked well with the setting and character.

I probably won't be able to release the first update until after my finals are over, but on the upside, I'll have plenty of time to update the LP during break.

Good news.

BTW, I downloaded Lonesome Road and am playing it (finally) right now.

How are you liking it? I wasn't that into it my first time, but I actually liked it much better the next time.

I really enjoyed it for its atmosphere. In a way, the off-kilter buildings around the Divide put me more on edge than the Sierra Madre, and that place was pretty spooky in its own right. The one thing that got me was how you could safely detonate a nuclear warhead from about 50 yards away. I guess the fissile material could have decayed over the years, but still, America's nukes in the Fallout world must have been ridiculously low yield.

On the plus side, finally wrapping up the Ulysses story arc was satisfying, guilt-free Riot Gear was always a plus, and as with every New Vegas DLC, I left with more unique loot than I knew what to do with.

Finished it the other day. It was... well... my feelings about it were complex. Overall, I liked the sense of alone-ness that it had. I really felt like I was walking a Lonesome Road. The climax was... well, not something I liked or disliked. Overall, I give it a +2. OWB got a +4, Honest Hearts got a 0, and Dead Money got a -1.

-1?

Awwww, Dead Money was one of my favourites and I thought it had the best characters.

Okay yeah the gameplay was tedious and difficult but at least it shows you just how scary a place like the Sierra Madre would be in real life and I thought it backed up the claims that everyone makes that it is a ghost town that no one returns from.

I also loved how it fit within the vanilla game, like how you could find people with bomb collars in the Mojave and Vegas plus the connections between Veronica and Elijah.

Elijah in particular is one of my favourite and it was interesting as he makes subtle references to hand holding in current video game RPGs.

Here's the rating scale for a -1

-1 NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

Well, I kinda played it, and disliked it just a bit... maybe if they
changed this level, or made an update that fixes these glitches, would
this game score higher. It might not be a game for me, but it's
possible that you would like it. Maybe the gameplay mechanic was just
not for me. And it was the one thing I bitched about the entire game.
It's only one item that made me hate this game, and say it sucked, but
it's an important one.
It's not that it's bad, I just didn't feel it was for me.

-5 WORST GAME EVER

For those people that somehow think that every game that comes out is
"The Worst Game Ever", well that's your score Negative 5. This is
where you will put the games that frankly can't be beaten in terms of
how terrible it is. Is it really worse than "E.T." and "Superman 64"?
If so, put it here.

-4 DO NOT BUY FOR ANY REASON

This is where you frankly just hate it to the point where you tell
people "Don't Buy It", not even in an Ironic point-of-view. It isn't
worth your money, but it's not the worst game ever made. You would
have more fun setting $60 on fire.

-3 VERY BAD

If you really really hate a game, that you ***** about it, but know
that there *might* be some people who want this game, then this is
where it goes. The typical "movie-license video game" that has
horrible controls and graphics would more than likely be right here.
Because if you liked the movie, odds are you might pick this game up.
(Tron Legacy). It might be worthy of a buy, for the ironic hipsters
that want to play bad games.

-2 BAD

The game sucks, if they almost do a complete retooling of the game for
the next game, then it wouldn't be so bad. This falls in the games
that you expected to be pretty good, and were left a little
disappointed, such as Sonic Adventure 2. There is some merit to the
game, some people might play it just to see how bad it is, there is
always the slim possibility, they might think its good. The -2 through
+2 range is the limbo stage, where people's opinions would change
about the game. When it breaks -3 or +3, it's almost unanimous.

-1 NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

Well, I kinda played it, and disliked it just a bit... maybe if they
changed this level, or made an update that fixes these glitches, would
this game score higher. It might not be a game for me, but it's
possible that you would like it. Maybe the gameplay mechanic was just

it's an important one.

0 - AVERAGE

The center of the scale. I did not hate this game, but on the other
hand I did like it. It's just your average video game. This is the
zone where MOST video games would lie onto. They are so average, I
can't say how much I hate it from 1-5 or like it from 1-5. In other
places, they would be a 5/10 or a 7/10. But here, it's just a zero.
And it's good, like Coke Zero.

+1 IT WAS OKAY

Meh, it was okay... maybe if they lowered the price a bit, I would
tell you to buy it. But it might not be for everybody. But it was
something I liked to play. Maybe you don't like Diner Dash, but I
liked it. It might be a sequel to cash-in, but it wasn't a let-down.

+2 GOOD

At the end of the "Limbo Scale", this is the good. Most "Good Games"
would be a +2. because people's opinions might change that it's bad.
For Instance, I really like WWE All Stars for it's simplicity, but
Mike dislikes it because of it's over the top arcade style.

+3 VERY GOOD

Most of us can agree that this game was very good. It was
groundbreaking at it's time, and this is coming from someone who is
not a fanboy of the system. This is where your Little Big Planet would
end up, or your Guitar Hero for it's innovations. If it's a killer
app, and it's surprisingly good, it will score at LEAST a +3.

+4 A MUST BUY

Why are you still standing there? You should run right now and pick up
this game. It is that damn good! Oh, well you are waiting for the
price to drop, well take a note to buy this game when you do. Because
I can't stop saying great things about this game. I did not find a
flaw, and if I did, I buried it under the good things. It'll be worth
the $60. Your big name games of the year might show up here like Dead
Space 2. Guaranteed +4s, and possible +5s could be Mass Effect 2, Red
Dead Redemption and the Metal Gear Solid series.

+5 BEST GAME EVER

This will be the rare score. People hand out 10/10s or 5 stars like no
tomorrow, but only a few games could ever get the +5 for "Best Game
Ever". It has to be a game that if you could have as "the one game
you'll ever play and not get sick of". This is where your Super Mario
World and your World of Warcraft would be.
