Juhani always kicks my ass. I hope that doesn't make me sound like a pansy. If it does, then pretend what I said was "Juhani always licks my ass". Damn cat people...

I'd sooo be a Guardian. They use of the Force is kind of interwoven with their physical skills, so they get sexy moves like (in KotOR II) Force Jump. I go out of my way to Force Jump enemies. And they are a step towards being a Jedi Weapons Master, which is like...a super Guardian (whoa there, Dusty, take it easy on the creative descriptions). They get six tiers in duel weapons mastery. All in all, they have the survivability of a warrior with the damage-dealing abilities of a rogue. Do want.

I'd go Sentinel, mostly cause of the default color. Imma sucker for a yellow lightsaber. There's a Ctrl+Alt+Del comic that would fit perfectly with this question but I can't for the life of me find it.

"Ah, the Neville Chamberlain approach to any given situation."
I think that?s the first time I?ve heard a Neville Chamberlain joke in an LP.
I approve
(CM156?s approval increased by 3)

Rick Santorum again!

There will be a mini update tommorow, then on Wednesday, there will be a proper update. I'm going silent after that because Mass Effect 3 will take my life and consume it.
Question time! If you were a Jedi, what type would you be?
A) The Guardian, the lightsaber combatant and all around badass. See: Luke Skywalker
B) The Sentinel, the all-rounder with plenty of wit to boot. See: Darth Vader
C) The Consular, the force using type with wisdom aplenty. See Obi-Wan Kenobi
Personally, I'd become a sentinel, because Double-Lightsabers are awesome, and I'd like the versatility.
None of the above. I choose sith. I normally play good guys, but damn, I love the dark side of the force quite a bit. So whatever the sith equivalent of ?C? is.

I'd probably have to go Sentinel - that means I get to wield two lightsabers at once, right? That's always my favourite way to play these games.
That is pretty fun.

Hey, sorry I haven't been commenting on your LP, by the way. I like what you're doing, I just don't have much to say.

I agree. Damn cat people. Burning down our women and stealing our churches!

Personally, I'm not one for a straight up fight, if it can be avoided. That's why I like magic powers, with heavy points into diplomacy related skills. So first comes talking, and if that doesn't work: Fireballs. Fireballs everywhere

Is it this one?

Personally, I love me some space magic. Unless it's Mass Effect.

Yup that would be it.

Hm, its a tough question. I'd probably be sentinel, due to loving lightsabers and the force equally.

Anyways good LP. If you want to do something a little different for this playthrough, you should look at the mod Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge.(http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Brotherhood_of_Shadow_Solomons_Revenge;99985) Apparently its a 6+ hour "expansion" mod details:

KOTOR spoilers
Revan's involvement in the mandalorian wars after you learn your identity. Its pretty cool...
Hmm... that looks pretty interesting. What I'll probably do is go through that mod once I finish the main game, because I've previously said that I wouldn't use any mods in this playthrough.

I would warn people that there are serious spoilers in that link, however.

Yeah changed my post to reflect that properly. Just wanted to point this mod out to you, considering I've heard nothing but good things about this.

Speaking of spoilers... You may want to head into retreat right about now if you wanna avoid Mass Effect 3 spoilers. Trust me when I say the forum will explode soon, as they always do.

You've been warned, my friend.

I've bookmarked Stu's let's play and this thread, then I'm bunkering down with Baldur's Gate II. It's like D-Day, only we, the defenders, are the good guys, and the invaders are slavering slack-jawed idiots who feel the need to report on every single thing in the game, and we defend ourselves by sticking our fingers in our ears and going LALALALALALALALALALALA

MINI-UPDATE: CAT-GIRL BLUES

Ok, so here's a little Mini-Update, primarily to cover for my own incompetence. I know most of you Americans are playing Mass Effect 3 by now, so this update will probably fall on deaf ears. Regardless, on with the show, such as it is.

Last time, we discovered a Dark Jedi that was corrupting the environment. She attacked us, screaming like a lunatic while doing so. If it wasn't directed at her, I daresay Varen might have liked this person.

"Ah-ha! Feel my chocking, you Cat-bint!"

Thankfully, Varen flees...

"TACTICAL RETREAT!"

Sorry, retreats in a tactical manner fast enough for Carth to bear the brunt of the assault.

"HEY! NO ONE BEATS THE IDIOT BUT ME!"

However, as a guardian, the assailant does quite a bit of damage to Varen, enough for her to (ahem) tactically retreat once again.

"Ha! The chokes on you, Cat-Lady!"

(Audience groans)

"Fuck this. I'm going back to Mass Effect."

"Who the hell are you, lady?"

"It's where I brood, and embrace the darkness within me, for I am the Darkness, that is what I am now."

"Oh, Jesus."

"Why the hell did you "embrace the darkness"? Other than too much nu-Vampire fiction, I mean."

"The Darkness and solitude are my only allies in this grim darkness I now live in."

"Why am I suprised you don't have cuts on your wrists or an emo fringe? Being a emo fantasist doesn't give you power, ya know. Being a raging lunatic does that."

"Brooding totally gives you power, you fucking conformist!"

"And I laugh at your pathetic attempt."

"You're cutting into my brooding schedule."

"The council sent me to here to cleanse the taint from this grove."

So, here's the purpose of this mini-update. This is a major choice. Do we...

A)Cut the Bullshit, Kill her, and be done with it. Obviously, this is the path of the Dark side.

B)Attempt to calm her down. Neutral.

C)Attempt to bring her back to the light. Obviously, Light Side. Will probably make the council trust us a bit more, and might get us some extra goodies...

Vote now! That is, if anyone is actually reading this, and you're not all lucky americans, playing Mass Effect. I'm not bitter or anything. {Blatant Lies}

Well, I already had the ending spoiled for me. So I won't say anything else. As for the choice, I say we kill her. She's a cat person. I don't like cat people. At all. In ANY form of media. Ever. So stab a lightsaber up her ass.

What sways it, you say? Perhaps my decision will.

I say we keep her. We're running with a Consular, so a tiny dose of Light won't penalize our sweeping stroll down the alley of Dark Powers. Besides, she's the only Guardian we'll get, and since we're doing the Dark Side, ((thpoilerth: <color=#f7f7f7>we'll have to kill her later anyway.))

I should add that I don't feel really strong about this, and I'm fine with it either way. Also, just so you know, you're required at some point to make a Chris Hansen/Dateline NBC joke in here somewhere. It's LP law.

The in-character choice is obviously to kill her. The only thing that gives me pause is this...

If she's dead then we don't get her as companion, which is unfortunate because Jedi are super-powerful in this game. We won't pick up our other Jedi for a little while at least, and we lose Bastila for most of the final act so Juhani might be a handy replacement. That said, I've never done a full Dark Side playthrough of this game and I'm not sure at which point we're required to kill her anyway, as C F mentions :p But we have other companions that can be useful, plus they're much better written *coughHK47cough*

...so yeah, probably kill her I guess. I've never done it before and I'll be interested to see how the Council reacts ;)

Also, my gawd was that some horrible wrist-slitting emo writing in that section! People who praise Bioware for their writing (myself included) have obviously forgotten about that sequence...

I'm really enjoying the thread - thanks for posting woodaba! Lots of great memories of playing this game.

One thing I noticed was, several of the characters bear very strong resemblances to certain actors, in appearance and even voice. I wonder if they served as inspiration for the game designers at all?

Kate Beckinsale

Bill Pullman

Ron Perlman

KOTOR movie - do it, Hollywood!

From memory, wasn't Bastila voiced by Jennifer Hale (ie: FemShep from Mass Effect)?

Definitely agree on the resemblance between Canderous and Ron Perlman BTW - it's all in the jaw :)

I believe you're right. The British accent clinches the Kate Beckinsale resemblance for me.

Oh, and also, my vote is to slay Juhani.
