I hope he got a bit of sofa time for that.

OT: I am certainly looking forward to this game. I don't care about graphics much, so they won't be a game-breaker for me.

So Dragon Age has been out for a day and I haven't seen many DA topics yet. How are your adventures in Ferelden going?
My guess? People are too busy playing it. In fact, I'm going to go play it right now.

Let's see:(Will put spoiler tags for potential spoilers:

I've played all of the origins at the moment but decided to go with a human make warrior of Noble origins. My entire party is level 7 and consists of Alistair, Morrigan and a certain Qunari I forgot the name of.

I just saved Redcliff from the undead invasion and managed to kill the demon possessing the child of the Arl. Currently I'm doing the dirty work of the Templar's in the mage tower. I could have allied with the mages stuck in the tower but Morrigan suggested I just kill them all and I did just that. I also need to find an artifact that can cure the Arl of Redcliff from his sickness.

This game, it's... challenging.

It gets easier once you manage to recruit a spirit healer. Or if you're a mage just spec into the Spirit Healer tree, it makes everything so much easier.

I hear the console version doesn't hold anything to the PC, so I doubt I'll get it (my PC is a piece of shit, and I prefer console games anyway). Plus I never played Baulders Gate and the like so I'll also miss out on the nostagia value. Maybe I'll pick it up next year some time.

I just got the game home tonight and have spent just under an hour in one of the most dangerous and thrilling quests the game has to offer: logging ontto the "Dragon Age servers" to redeem the codes for the stone prisoner/blood dragon armour. The EA password recovery system is as fierce an opponent as many I have faced...

Such excitement, and I'm not even into the game proper!

But seriously, hopefully I'll have some reports once I get started in earnest.

Just got it today (Amazon UK rule, got here a day after it was posted :D) and I've been having great fun a being a human Noble bastard, laughing at elves, stabbing prisoners and generally being an evil dick who gets away with it, also think I may have started off a gay romance so woo.

I felt a bit bummed to have to pick it up on the 360, but that quickly faded as i started playing. the different characters back stories, or Origins, work well to draw you in to your characters story. The gameplay is engaging and fun, and as for the graphics, its an updated version of the NWN engine so that explains the somewhat dated feel, but i find them to fit the game quite well and would not call them bad in the slightest. If you are in to engaging story driven gameplay, this is the game for you. 9.5/10

is it possible to cross classes? Like go heals + melee kinda thing? or are you pretty much reserved to a single spec type? like warriors can only level melee skills?

I have yet to pick it up for PC, but I was at a friend's house the other day and I was really impressed with the game's maturity.

The Gray Warden initiation sequence was pretty amazing. It's nice to finally see an RPG where the characters don't want to take part in something. When one of the party members drew his sword to fight the Gray Warden back I muttered, "holy f***!"

Just fought against my first dragon. All I can say is, I can't remember the last time I fought a dragon in a w-rpg where I had that much fun.

Bought it the day it came out but couldn't play that day due to work. I did download some DLC [Shale is my new favorite character by the way: he reminds me very much of HK-47]

On the fourth I played from 9:45am until about 7:30pm breaking for a total of about 30 minutes to eat and do other human things. I am playing as a City Elf, Rogue. It took me a few hours to notice the lack of a karma bar but perhaps I'm missing it. I've found the approval bars though and speaking of which I have:

banged the witch Morrigan
and
MADE GAY MALE ELF LOVE!!

I have done much in Ferelden thus far and am taking a quick break to do other human things like eating and perhaps watching a movie ... perhaps ...

Oh, and despite the apparent lack of a karma bar, I am making great strides to be evil. It is a bit difficult though, to know when I'm being good or bad though ... at times anyway

So... I'm on the fence. Mostly what gets me is that I don't know if I'd be able to find a class mixture I'd like. If there's a somewhat easy way to make a mageknight sorta thing, a melee warrior with competent magic skills or a mage that can go into melee, I'd be in love.
If you choose the Mage origin you can later get the Arcane Warrior specialization, which lets you use the Magic skill in stead of Strength for melee weapons. You wont get any of the fighter abilities though.

duel wielding ftw... :D iam pretty far in the story (also pc version) but iam not gona say much as to not spoil anything for you guys .

i can say this the game has a great story with even better voice acting but...a lot of the things depend on your story progression .... like in mass effect a lot of great things wont happen until a certain % of the game has been completed...its kinda a turn off .

and combat/weaponry could use a good bump its frustrating sometimes especially with some of the bosses in the game.

but still its a fun game worth the money i say~

Excellent game. Human mage, PC version, hard difficulty. I'm especially loving the fun, challenging, tactical gameplay. But the story and characters are really good too.
