More =/ than actual dispair, as in, "was that supposed to turn me on... seriously, was it?"

That bikini was so 70s, and passe all the way back in the 80s when dolphin shorts took over, and then they were supplanted by thongs.

Anyway, I'm glad to see PlayBoy is doing what it needs to do. There is no way it can compete with internet porn so it is reaching out to a broader audience, and seeking out other things guys like, all in a suggestive but not explicit way. Playboy can survive if it keeps that up. But they need to do better than this.

Speaking as Playboy's target demographic, I don't get this ad either. It's tearing my brain in two: the male side wants to tell whoever is running that projector to turn it off so we can see the woman, and the gamer side wants to yell "Down in front, modestly-hot* girl!"

*(Aside: seriously, she's only modestly hot [http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail99.html], and not one iota hotter).

I agree with you Andy. This is pretty damn stupid. It's like they thought shitty rock music with Michael Bay style editing and some dumb ***** you can barely see is what gamers are looking for.
To be fair, if interviews are to be believed (if), Jo Garcia is pretty damn committed to gaming.

Of course, that doesn't mean she's a good blogger/presenter/reviewer though...and that video was pretty crappy.

I disagree with the opinion stated in the article. I dont think it is a reflection of gamers but more so American men. Sex sells everything, not just videogames.
What? American women are blameless in this trend? I guess all those women in porn are not really women but just CGI animations? I guess the current trend of girls getting boob jobs instead of cars for their 16th birthday is all because their fathers and brothers are forcing them into the plastic surgeons offices while the poor innocent girls are kicking and screaming "No, I want men to like me for my mind and personality, not because of my body!!"?

What I dont get is how a person can see a hot girl eating a sandwich and then want to go out and buy that same sandwich. Advertisers think this works on a subconscious level, but it just seems ludicrous to me.
And yet a chick who sees a commercial with a hot girl advertising lipstick will go out and buy that lipstick...or hair coloring, breast implants, etc.

And everyone knows that supermodels, beauty pageant contestants, cheerleaders, and porn-stars are nothing but eye candy and sex objects yet that doesn't seem to keep girls and women from wanting to be those things, but it always seems to be men's fault.

Ok, that video sucked. It wasn't even remotely sexy. At all. As for most sexy game trailer? The statement reminds me why I think Playboy's taste in "sexy" sucks. I think they were trying for a James Bond-ish trailer, but they didn't quite get how to pull it off.

Now, as for people calling the bikini girl a bimbo, I have to question whether it's really misogynistic. Playboy markets these people this way, is it wrong to refer to them this way? Calling her a slut, that would be unwarranted and misogynistic. Bikini bimbo, on the other hand, seems like a fairly accurate description. Boring would be another one.

I don't get it. Also comes to the terms of how some women complain about feeling like they;re just something to look at, when there are others contradicting the point.

Things like this don't sell to me.

To all those upset about my use of the word "bimbo" to describe Ms. Garcia:

Please watch this video. [http://www.playboy.com/articles/jo-garcia-wii-fit-boxing/index.html]

That link, for those who can't or won't follow it, leads to a 4:39 video of Garcia playing Wii Boxing. What makes it noteworthy isn't the fact that she's dressed in a skimpy bikini that allows for plenty of jiggling while she plays, or that she doesn't speak a single word at any time during the course of the video. It's that the video doesn't even show her head! That's right, Playboy takes her seriously enough as a gamer and an individual to show her from her neck to her knees. Go ahead and watch it if you don't believe me.

Maybe bimbo is unfair and maybe it isn't, but it sure rolls off the tongue easier than "anonymous slab of ambulatory jiggle-meat."

Everybody quick! Swamp youtube with videos of yourself in a bikini in front a footage of a game! May I suggest Spyro the Dragon? or possibly Super Mario 2? Come on, your time is now!

My wife and I are with you, dear Andy. It is annoying. If we want tits, we will get some tits on the screen. If we want death and ass kicking, there's that too. This does nothing to bring them together. -_-

A sad day for the gamer image to the outside world...

I have an idea. How about if Playboy sticks to porn and leave gaming alone? Clearly from this it just shows that they care only to stereotype gamers.

My main confusion is trying to figure out how these two even go together. Bayonnetta I can understand at least, the sexual nature of the game seems like a logical connection for Playboy, but how is this supposed to make any sense? maybe its just because I havent played it yet, but I wasnt aware that Darksiders had a sexual aspect to it.

I like the female form as much as anything but that doesnt mean I want to see it added to my other hobbies with no context or reason. I like cheerios too but I dont want that skank grinding my balanced breakfast any time soon.

Disgruntled Gamer: Down in Front!

Model: (Pouting) But I'm naked.

Disgruntled Gamer: And you can be naked off to the side. Now Move!

Yeah, this does seem pathetic to me. I watched 30 seconds just to be sure that all it was WAS a projection on a bikini-clad woman, and then turned it off. Well done. That's almost vaguely creative.

I like to think of this a different way: Gamers are the cool people in this scenario, and Playboy is the poser trying (and failing) to fit in.
That's it! We've gone full circle.

That sound you just heard was my mind being blown.

I never thought that I'd be saying this, but the women were a distraction!
PlayBoy obviously doesn't know the action-gamer audience very well. If they did, they'd have handed the advertisement duties off to their more hardcore sister publication, PlayGirl.

What 'True Gamer' wouldn't plunk down around $7.00 to see what War has under his armor, maybe while having a 'cross-over' with 'Mastur' Chief wearing nothing but his helmet and his 'rifle'while Kratos strikes an uncharacteristically heroic figure in the background reclining on a bed(via some Heroic Nudity)?!

I guess that they don't get that gamers didn't buy Tomb Raider for Lara Croft, those who didn't look at her appearance as a pleasant(yet extraneous)part of a great(for its time)game bought it in spite of her.

This was funny, totally unrelated to the gaming scene, but funny. Who didn`t check out the blog yet should, the game presentation that Miss Tits did reminded my of all that horrible acting that took place in Xena.
