So you can do each races starting zone how much futher can you get moria, helms deep? or is it about where shamus stopped after the bree quests?
Moria and Helm's Deep aren't available even to the subscribers: You have to purchase the expansions to access those (Or, if you ONLY want the zones, you can do microtrans for the zones alone, rather than the zones and classes).
Hmm how about agmar and the misty mountins then? and i think ill give it a go ill probly be a dwarf
I'm pretty sure that the Misty Mountains are available. I wouldn't be quoted on that, however.
The Misties are indeed available. They're a level 35 to 45 zone which, true to the lore, is rather tough to navigate and quite deadly if you're not careful.

Angmar exists as well. It's a level 40 to 50 zone and, as it was originally the end game area before any expansions were released, it focuses on deadly enemies and group play.

Ah, I'd love to play it, but alas, i can not.
I'm afraid it'll turn into a huge time-sink, and i don't have that much free time with a lot of national exams coming up.
I mean, I've played DDO (another Turbine game), and for 0 dollars, I played it for 449 hours (thank you, xFire). Yes, it was fun and addictive, but eventually i got out of the game. So I'm not gonna take any chances with this one, i need my time...

Depends on how far you're going. If by roleplaying you mean constantly speaking in Elvish or something, then no, no I will not. But I will be trying to give my Dwarf a lore correct name, and will definitely get into things more than is socially acceptable. I will also not be spamming the chat with a clusterfuck of abbreviations and acronyms.
Sadly, I am not fluent in the speech of the Fair Folk. But I plan on developing a character, yes.

Hah, I'm glad I'm not the only one planning on Roleplaying =P
We shall unite and defeat all before us, brother!
Sister, actually =P And if anyone tries speaking Elvish I will say "SPEAK THE MAN'S TONGUE. IT IS THE ONLY LANGUAGE I KNOW."

I am also a little on the noobish side when it comes to the lore of Middle Earth. I love the books and the movies, but I just started actually going beyond that. Hopefully I'll be learning a bit more as I play =D

If you know anything about Norse mythology, then you know loads about Middle Earth. I'm not too great on the deeper side of things, and I'm very much looking forward to what sort of roleplaying stuff goes on.

Ah! I got it to download and I'm on it now. Any recommendation to what server to play on?
Landroval if you want RP and a large population.

Brandywine is the most populated, and some say the most OOC.

Elendilmir is generally considered the Euro server out of the North American set, and it's got a large population. Also, many of the top raiding kinships (aka guilds) are on Elendilmir.

Dwarrowdelf, Imladris, Riddermark and Crickhollow are the 4 newest servers as they were just added with the F2P launch. They are, of course, still developing and don't have much of an economy yet but if you want lots of lower level (though not necessarily new) players to play with they might be your ticket.

Thanks =3

I'm screwing around in the game for the most part at the moment. If anyone on here wants to get a group together I'd love it.

Wait.. the game is crashing for me the second I leave the tutorial area. Crap.

I played it for awhile, right before the Mirkwood expansion came out. Don't plan on getting back into it, I had a good time, but I just about had my fill of it.

I had tried to get on the trial a few months ago but my PC would always blue screen while I was downloading the game. Going to try on the American version for a change and see what happens.

If I do get on it I'm up for joining an Escapist Guild. No cookies for guessing what my username will be though...

So what sever are most of the escapist on?
That's what I am trying to figure out. Since I just started I'm willing to go on whatever server people want to go on. I'm thinking Landroval if everyone wants to Roleplay, if not I have a character on one of the new lower level servers, Imaldris.

Edit: Haha, I am finally over 400 posts here XD Thank you, LotR thread, for helping me!

It's probably a bad idea to start on Landroval now since it's a high populated server and have que to log in. Better to roll on one of the new servers. I think Crickhollow will have a big RP community aswell. Also being on a new server means that everyone will start fresh and wont be full of max level players.

Wow. I didn't even notice the ads on here. I guess I'm great at blocking ads out in my mind.

I don't know. How does it differ from other MMOs? Games like WoW and City of Heroes/Villains are extremely dull.

I noticed that about Landroval and that's why I didn't start there. So... should we all agree to meet in Crickhollow? If you see Idis of Rohan on there, that's me.

I'm finally downloading at broadband speeds now, so I should be up and running soonish. Once I am, I'll make sure my Dwarf makes his home in Crickhollow.

That's good news. Hopefully you'll be getting the game soon then. I'll keep myself in the starting area for awhile so I hope to see you guys around!

As most of you have probably seen (considering how the Escapist is practically painted with ads for it), Turbine's Lord of the Rings Online has adopted a model similar to that used by their other hit MMO, Dungeons and Dragons Online.

How many of you plan on playing? Are you playing alone, or are you starting out with friends? What race are you fighting for?

And last of all, do you already have a Fellowship planned? If not, maybe we should get an Escapist group together and beat back the forces of Sauron.
Tell me what server you will be on when you get on, my download is 83%
