That's ridiculous and obviously not interpreting the rules in the way they were intended
From The Comprehensive Rules of Magic: The Gathering, February 2011:
Rule 714.2a At any point in the game, the player with priority may suggest a shortcut by describing a sequence of game choices, for all players, that may be legally taken based on the current game state and the predictable results of the sequence of choices. This sequence may be a non-repetitive series of choices, a loop that repeats a specified number of times, multiple loops, or nested loops, and may even cross multiple turns. It can't include conditional actions, where the outcome of a game event determines the next action a player takes. The ending point of this sequence must be a place where a player has priority, though it need not be the player proposing the shortcut.
Example: A player controls a creature enchanted by Presence of Gond, which grants the creature the ability "{T}: Put a 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token onto the battlefield," and another player controls Intruder Alarm, which reads, in part, "Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, untap all creatures." When the player has priority, he may suggest "I'll create a million tokens," indicating the sequence of activating the creature's ability, all players passing priority, letting the creature's ability resolve and put a token onto the battlefield (which causes Intruder Alarm's ability to trigger), Intruder Alarm's controller putting that triggered ability on the stack, all players passing priority, Intruder Alarm's triggered ability resolving, all players passing priority until the player proposing the shortcut has priority, and repeating that sequence 999,999 more times, ending just after the last token-creating ability resolves.
Jesus, that really seems like something they should fix.

I'm currently trying to get back into Magic with a Red/Green/White deck. Quick summon power houses fueled by elves and Mayael the Anima. I still need some cards for it to be fully functional, but I'm getting there.

And I have a deck from long, long ago that I've kept. There have been many a time I have Fireballed and Meteored the entire physical cosmos with that deck and have gained more life than I could ever possibly need with Alabaster Potion. Along with the deck's namesake...Enduring Renewal.

Those were good times.
So someone else does have an Enduring Renewal! Best card ever.

I'm relatively new to Magic, so i haven't really homed in on a set of colours that i enjoy playing with (that i can use effectively). Conceptually, i like Green/Black combo, good mix of defense and offense and powerful game-changing spells.
I find the other colours to have too strong weaknesses for me to use effectively (Red: no real defence, White: no mid-range creatures, Blue: not enough creatures.)

Black Infect, I'm the ultimate wing-man in team games...

But I barely play...

Some of the cards for that combo are so old they're no longer legal except in Vintage tournaments, and Wizards just quietly accepts that Vintage is a really broken format. A deck like mine, with an infinite number of warriors by turn 5 and easily disrupted by one Counterspell, would get eaten alive by serious Vintage players running $5000 decks.

There are lots of coloured artifacts. I have a black/white artifact deck, one of my friends has a devastating blue artifact deck. I find it's only best to have a completely colourless artifact if you have the Urzatron combo.

No one's asked me about my favourite combo, so here it is:

All creatures you own that aren't in play are Eldrazi. For 20 mana, you may cast any number of Eldrazi you own from outside the game. In my case, that would mean bringing a box down from the attic, reaching for the section marked "creatures", and dropping about 500 cards on the table. I know I'll never be allowed to pull it off in a tournament (you're only allowed to identify 15 of your cards as "cards you own outside the game) but it would be hilarious if I pulled it off one day on my kitchen table.

All of those weaknesses can easily be overcome. Specifically:
Red defends with ridiculous numbers of goblins and thunderbolts.
White has a lot of 4CMC (Converted Mana Cost) griffins.
Blue doesn't really need many creatures, just a small number that works well together a great example of this is The Time Elemental [http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=159775]

Love the Urza block. The only set of cards to ever get the entire design team yelled at. So glad I have the whole set.

It seems like my biggest problem is that i don't have enough cards (I have lots, but they'r not as varied/useful as i would like when i try to create a deck), but cards are expensive.

I know its weird but white soldier quick mobilization and boost's to powerful attacks
its work for me. Let it be stated I am usually very lucky.

Ah, well I guess it helps that my parents have been playing since the 90's and therefore have 5 binders, a suitcase and 12 card boxes full of cards plus 8 active decks.

Black. Played back when a Black Hatred-deck could whoop players in two turns (with lucky draws).

An adendum to my earlier comment, I love spectrum decks, but I never really got the hang of building them. (Except with Slivers.)

Black, because I thoroughly enjoy the mass death and resurrection style of it. It just doesn't discriminate when it comes to killing, it'll just sap away everything you've worked for with little effort.

It's tricky to play cooperatively with it, but it's great fun in free for alls.

On a side note, I hate coloured artifacts. They're contradictory.

Blue light special.

It rarely works for me (especially since I'm, like, six years out of date), but my blue/red combo is what I love best. Counterspell and blast away.
This reminds me of my Blue/Red deck. It's not my main deck, or even my favorite, but I love the fact that it's U/R but instead of relying on counterspells and burn damage, it's a straight up aggro deck, in which almost every creature has some kind of evasion ability -- mostly flying and shadow, with a couple of unblockable cards, including an unblockable 6/6 that I can get out in two or three turns for 3 mana, assuming it's a multiplayer game and things are going my way.

OT: I love a good G/W deck. My favorite deck, especially for multiplayer games, was a G/W deck that allowed for insane amounts of life gain, while building up to get out some ridiculous Timmy creatures -- the main two being

and

Phantom Nishoba is probably my personal favorite MTG creature. I'm sure there were some that were even more over the top released in that Eldrazi block, but a 7/7 with an early version of lifelink, which basically can't be killed by anything but a black deck or a well timed counterspell? Heck yes. [evil]It's especially fun if you throw in something that can manipulate +1/+1 counters[/evil]

I can't remember the cards off the top of my head, but that deck also featured a combo that severely reduced the damage I would take on any given turn, and which effectively shut down a white weenie or similar deck. I remember one game that went on for two hours because of that combo. I didn't have enough copies of the cards to consistently get it out, but man did I love it when I did. And now this thread is making me want to break out my decks, and go around campus trying to find someone else who plays...

Red I like destruction I combine it with Black to kill my opponents creatures. Although there are a few blue cards I like like Tome scour (an opponent throws away the top 5 cards from his/her deck)

I was going to play with a Red deck, looked cool to me.

But if I check the first 2 pages of this topic, I think I'm just going to give up on Magic...
