You mean like...nerdy guys who don't look like the stereotypical nerd and are quite attractive? Well not to boast, but I think I do belong, even slightly, to that group. I take care of my looks, make sure my clothes at least match a bit and fit me properly. I do wear glasses though, they look good on me, I can't imagine myself without them.

I try not to be that uber-shy, insecure type of guy, I can chat up with new people quite easily and I try to look confident. Maybe I'm often not, but I try to at least look like it, and I'm working on actually béing more confident.
I'm the same, except I don;t think I qualify for nerd status. Though I use these forums, and play on my xbox, I don't really fit the stereotype.
Being a nerd isn't about a sterotype, it's about being smart, loving something more then other people. (Video games.)

You're at least one of those, not all nerds have greasy hair, smell and have glasses, just me. xD I have friends who are confident with people and look after themselves, but in the end there still nerds.

I'm rather confident but a bit lazier in looking after my hair, people seem to love there hair, I really hate gell and all that.

I don't think any of you got OP right yet.

I think he means if there's a type of male that has the same kind of attractiveness that nerd chicks posses.

An answer to that would be psychopathic men who are abusive and destructive. It's actually science.

But that's what I mean. The thing that is, to me the most important thing in life, is people. Everything else is stuff to do with people, or to do when people aren't around.

On the subject of hair and confidence, I have the same attitude and results with my hair, and an ego you could crack rocks on =P

I get what you are saying and agree that there probably are guys who feel the same way.

I'm pretty good looking, if a bit skinny. But I am more of a gamer than a nerd, I am not obsessed with sci-fi, nor can I speak any alien languages.
Although I am often shy and awkward around people I don't know.

There is a group of women who tend to like nerd(y) guys more than other men, because nerds generally tend to be more open-minded on certain issues, which feminists quite like.

I have nothing against feminists, especially since I seem to end up dating them a fair bit.

There are no attractive nerds.
Any nerd who looks attractive is not actually a nerd, they only have slightly above average intelligence or they're only slightly into computers. They've retained their humanity, so to speak.

Actually the male version is the tortured artist, or "Emo Guy".

See, one of the reasons why so many people started going Emo as a fashion statement was an attempt to emulate that kind of thing, including the poetry (which is GOOD poetry in the cool version).

So the result is a lot of perfectly normal kids/guys from perfectly fine/decent backrounds trying to act like their lives are full of darkness and angst, and how nobody understands them and how deep they are.

But yeah, there is a whole "cool" way of being an artist, intellectual, etc...

It's notable that a general "nerd" who just sits around being nerdy about nothing that is remotely practical, artistic, or cool (like say science fiction and fantasy) is NOT this stereotype.

Consider also for a second that most of what we call nerds are like sub-nerds. Because even the classic nerd (which can occasionally get the girl) is like REALLY smart when it comes to science, engineering, computers, etc. You know practical and valued skills. Most nerds today aren't even smart, they just embrace fandom, but have no talent except maybe to wring the most disturbing stuff out of a search engine to fap to.

My thoughts/opinion

Take hold of that one, and never let go. She's a keeper.

I'm not sure if this is an internationally recognised idea or anything, but it seems that in my country the "stupid nerd" or "nerd with impractical knowledge" is more accurately called a "geek". This would help with contrasting the cultures, though I'm not sure if there is a total division between them. Geeks do seem to hang out with nerds anyway.

I'm pretty sure that the majority of the forum is made up of gamers, and I'm also pretty sure that gamers and nerds aren't really the same thing, but the stereotypes kind of merged some where.

Wait, men can be chicks?

Riiight...

Also, I do consider myself fairly attractive. I do care how I look, so when seen on the street etc, no one could guess that I'm actually a fairly geeky person.

A female nerd chick is a female of high intelligence but some social awkwardness who has parts you can put your knob in.

A male nerd chick is a male of high intelligence but a great deal of social awkwardness who does not become attractive until he makes his first million.

I'm a bit of a gamer, in fact I'm gamer-tastic, but have been called handsome on several occasions. To be honest I don't really see it, and it's not like most girls pine over me or anything.

At least I don't think so.

Hold on.
