im sure it works... without blowing me own trumpet im quite nerdy i spend most of my day looking at a computer screen some of the night down the pub and then back home for some drunken grinding. yet ive still had my fair share of smoking hot girls. though i am 6'3'' so maybe they just like lanky guys with glasses.. who knows.. just for the record.. im not to much of a fan of geeky girls i like my women to be slightly more athletic and have no idea what yaoi or 4chan is

P.S. by grinding i usely mean WoW kinda grinding

I'm sorry, but I have no bloody idea what you're talking about.
I have a strange attraction to cute chicks with glasses, but that's probably not what you're asking...
Yup, yup.. I think we all have that strange attraction.

Including me. Except my attraction is a full blown "Omg, i'm in love" fetish.
But yeah, my girlfriend is unbelievably cute, and wears such hot glasses.. i'm.. just so lucky.. i'd like to rub your face in it more later.

I'm a nerd, I'm attractive. I just picked up a beautiful lass in a club last Thursday without even having to buy her drinks!

My last girlfriend wasn't really geeky but LOVED it when I did anything geeky. I even got her to play non-Halo videogames and got her obsessed with D&D.

Umm actually I've been told repeatedly by several of my ex's that I'm kind like what you described. :p

Men: Are you a nerd? Are you considered attractive? Do you believe in the idea of male nerd chicks?
Oh yes im very much a nerd/geek and I flaunt it too. As for being attractive, I really couldn't say because there's so many theories about what's attractive and what isn't. As for myself, I have loads of confidence, which I have seen chicks fall like bowling pins for, but im a bit of an enigma in the way that I don't actively pursue romantic relations at all.

This I have heard can be quite off-putting for most women in my age, because if they do like a guy but that guy doesn't show any sort of validation back then they assume that the guy doesn't like them. And to be honest, mostly I really don't like them either. I might not dislike them either, but im rather neutral and indifferent towards them, despite their sometimes good looks.

I guess im just pretty turned off by women who want me to pursue them. If they think im special then at the very least they could have the guts to tell me, and if they do they will instantly be more of a turn-on just because of the fact that they approached me where most women expect the men to approach them instead. And sometimes they do, but more often than not, alcohol is involved somehow, and im really not impressed by people acting gutsy when they're drunk.

And about my looks, I really couldn't say either. I consider myself to be ugly (but I don't see that as something bad either, im completely indifferent about it) but then again, all men are ugly in my eyes. I can only find beauty in the feminine form, and while the masculine form can be practical in many regards, it is in general rather ugly and even downright disgusting. So I'll never really understand heterosexual women and why they like how men look. (I guess they just have bad taste. XD)

As for the existence of "male nerd chicks" (the name sort of sounds like a transsexual or something if I didn't know better), why not? I mean there are people who are turned on by feces, and I consider that to be pretty extreme. Liking nerds is a bit easier to relate to in comparison to that...

are there attractive girls who are nerdy? yes, they all seem to be taken but yes.
therefore, logic(useful for thought but a crappy way to live your life) states that if male is equal to female and female can be both attractive and nerdy, then it is also true that male can be both attractive and nerdy. probability on the other hand says that you'll never meet them anyways, so your odds are better if you find a male/female and teach them to be nerdy.

of course everyone knows a natural pearl is better than an artificial one, so keep hoping for the best.

edit: tall, lanky guys with glasses are considered attractive? why aren't ladies lining up for me then?

I'm nerdy, and in my (and some other's) opinion, not that good looking. But who knows, maybe I'll be good looking in the future. So far, the best I've got is "cute". But that's not so bad, right? Nobody has literally said "I'm attracted to you", so I don't really know how others think about me.

girls have told my brother they thought i was attractive. try asking your friends what others think about you. you never know what you might turn up.

Pfft. Nerds are hot.
agreed, but are they hot because they look hot or because we are attracted to those with simmilar intrests?
i'm a guy, and i prefer the intrests to the looks. i can stare at anyone, if i'm careful. but if i want to spend time with someone we're gonna need something to talk about.

I had a really nerdy looking friend, and I dunno, I just was very attracted to him. Maybe cause I knew we liked alot of the same things, but isnt that part of attraction? He was not as into me though :/

I think I understand... Like, they have that aspect of them which is sexy.
I'd say men are, I've always dated geeks.
And Moss from IT crowd.
I would. ;]
Moss is by far the best character in the IT Crowd and in a choice between him and Roy, i'd go for Moss. Its the nerdyness that makes him cute and lovable.
I've always gone for geeky guys too, they just seem more fun than guys who are completely opposite and arn't really into anything.

Another example from the world of fiction: Otacon, anyone? Hot scientist tempered with the cute anime nerdiness.

I prefer nerds/geeks. I just like intelligent men. Someone that challenges me mentally and can have an intelligent conversation. My current boyfriend (and best friend of 7 years) is currently getting his masters in Network Communications. Most of my ex's were either gamers or PC junkies. I'm able to keep up on the latest technology, etc. Not to mention that I took some PC classes... but whatever.

Oh yeah, my boyfriend is attractive to me.

well done.
and i can see what you mean about his being attractive, couldn't explain it exactly(and don't want to make this sound retarded but) he has many of the facial features i've noticed in other guys my friends who are girls have refered to as being attractive.
so you're probably not alone in considering him attractive.

I know quite a lot of hot nerds. One of them being my boyfriend.
I have a Gamerbase near me filled with nerds and geeks who just wanted the job there so they could play games all day.
My 12 year old girly neice who fancies Zac Effron and Robert Pattinson said that one of the guys there was 'gorgeous.' She was talking about, quite possibly, the biggest geek I know.

OP, I believe you might have misunderstood the rationale behind the attractiveness of "nerd chicks". It's not about "they happen to be nerds, but are secretly beautiful underneath that". They're attractive because they're nerds, not in spite of it. It's a supply and demand issue. Nerdy guys like nerdy girls because of the assumption of similar interests, and that the girls will be more accepting and accessible than other girls. I really think it's the reason nerdy guys (both in America and Japan) fetishized glasses. It's a symbol of imperfection, a sign that the girl isn't as ostentatiously beautiful as the "hot" girls, and hence the nerdy guy actually has a shot with her. Thus, if a nerdy guy were to be attractive, it would be to a nerdy girl for the same reason: a socially awkward young lady likes the socially awkward young man (a) because they have similar interests and (b) because he's not as intimidating. The difference is that there are a lot more nerdy guys, so there's less overwhelming appreciation. A single nerdy girl can have fifteen different nerdy guys who want her, hence the "hotness". The reverse is rarely true outside dating sims.

That all sounds cruel, but I'm comfortable saying as I am myself a nerd in many, many, ways. Many of the girls I've liked, I've liked for this very reason, and many of the girls who have liked me (I thoroughly believe) have been the same way

Riiight...

Also, I do consider myself fairly attractive. I do care how I look, so when seen on the street etc, no one could guess that I'm actually a fairly geeky person.
