Uh? Yeah I'm sure that there are some attractive male nerd somewhere! Unfortunately I have not found any yet

I suggest you DRINK MORE =D
Look no farther...[/ego]

I have been told that I am a charismatic person(Charisma of 18!) and that I have an easy way of talking with people, even strangers. Also, a lot of people say that I'm attractive. I suppose that I would be this rare subspecies of gamer/nerd.
However, not many girls I know are into guys like me... or maybe it's the fact that I have little self-confidence sometimes, and that I'm an Obsessive-Compulsive, eighteen year old with no car, who has anger issues... That probably has something to do with it.

I can't believe what I'm reading here.

What you like to do with your free time doesn't have to dictate how you look, dress or act.
You can be into comic books and video games and still dress well and learn to be sociable.
At the same time, you can be little miss shallow the pop-culture and fashion follower while looking like something that crawled out of a burning train wreck.
It's not that hard concept to to follow.

Then again, if you see all the girlfriend threads on this site, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that people here have low self-esteem in general. No wonder everyone seems to be agreeing so easily.

There are no attractive nerds.
Any nerd who looks attractive is not actually a nerd, they only have slightly above average intelligence or they're only slightly into computers. They've retained their humanity, so to speak.
So the fact that I find intelligence attractive means that no one who is intelligent can possibly be a nerd since by your definition nerds aren't attractive. Does that make the muscular, can-crushing, sports enthusiasts are nerds since I don't find that attractive?

What are you considering "humanity" here? Do you think someone who is very into computers is less likely to give to charity, help old ladies across the street, or help out at a soup-kitchen? Um...your statement does not compute! :D

Wait, men can be chicks?

Riiight...

Also, I do consider myself fairly attractive. I do care how I look, so when seen on the street etc, no one could guess that I'm actually a fairly geeky person.

I'm dating a nerd. I am a nerd. We're both far above the stereotype of acne-ridden basement dwellers in the looks department. So yes, I'd say it's possible that male nerd chicks to exist.

Well this notion warrants further investigation! But how do we define 'nerds'? Do we limit ourselves to a person that has delved exceptionally deep into one or more intellectual pursuits, or do we also include the popular definition of lacking in personal hygiene and/or social skills?

Then we need a definition of attractiveness. Do we just use the common physical characteristics (averageness and symmetry of facial features), or do we also include other, more subjective characteristics?

It is a lie. Megan Fox and her "type" are very much aware of what she is owed and can get by the grace of being born attractive and female.
I despise Megan Fox, and am physically repulsed by those that wear gallons of make-up to look even better than they did before, though because I tend not to look at her I don't know if she is like that. I do however realise she has a lot of money, and is an idiot, and I hate rich idiots. e.g. Paris Hilton.

Yes, it it very much possible. All but one of my friends are guys, they are all nerdy and some of them are very good looking! (and yet, for some reason, only one of them has a girlfriend)

Well, the OP is really poorly worded, but I'd say that nerds are quite attractive, but it's not merely the nerdiness but the personality and overall qualities that hook other people. Either way, with guys or girls, some might fetishize the nerd stereotype, but that's not necessarily the same as pursuing actual nerds.

I am a nerd, and a geek to varying degrees, depending on the day. I'm obviously also a gamer, being here. But gamers aren't necessarily nerds and vice versa. Now, gaming is firmly in the mainstream, but years ago, it was more of a niche thing and something people considered an activity for (male) nerds. I used to often be the only girl at the arcade when I was a kid.

Anyhow, I find nerds attractive in the sense that I can often relate more to guys with nerdy and/or geekier tendencies. It's part of the overall package though.

I was thinking about this yesterday evening, and it occurred to my sleepy semi-drunk mind that if there exists a group or type of girls who, though nerdy, have an attraction that one would not immediately expect, then surly there should be a version in the male population, a reclusive breed of men who possess an extra attraction?

I'm not sure exactly how much that makes sense, but I'm still sleepy, so does anyone want to consider this for me?

Edit: Now I'm more awake, I'm going to add something for further discussion:

Men: Are you a nerd? Are you considered attractive? Do you believe in the idea of male nerd chicks?
Women: Do you find any nerds/gamers attractive?
What does having a very developed interest in something generally considered a small subject by the public to do with how attractive you are?

Don't you mean "white and nerdy"?

And yes, it's possible. There have been plenty of cases of this.

Well I think we're done here, close the thread.

Funny how I may not give that girl a second look (I think we're all guilty of that) if she was in plain clothes walking down the street, but remove most of her clothes and we have a winner.

P.S. I'm still failing to understand what "male nerd chicks" means. I'm chalking it up to drunkenness and ignoring it.

Most attractive, socially presentable, and tech-inclined men are not called nerds at all. That's the real clincher.

However, if you know of a single, attractive, socially presentable, employable, tech-inclined guy out there, whether he calls himself a nerd or not, have him drop me a line, eh?

Personally, I don't think it does, but the whole point is for discussion, and to see what others think, not to dictate what I think.
