I walk off into the grimdarkness of the far future the marsh.
"SALT! ZOMBIE! LASSIE!"

Something starts moving underwater.

i appear from the shadow under a tree and puts a finger to my mouth as to say quiet "shh"

 

[MinimanZombie]

"Well this is fucking stupid. Yo, Narrator, you there? I'd like a chat. Or Madam Crimson. Anyone really. God damn it."

I hover out of the marshes near the outpost, covered in soot after narrowly escaping the raging inferno.

I return to the outpost.
"Hey Knife. You see Zombie or Salt out there?"

 

[Saltarius]

"Zombie. Listen. As soon as we go God Tier, we go free agent."

 

[Captain Anon]

i follow shortly behind Trilby "God Tier? Free Agent?"

"No, no I didn't, you tend to lose track of stuff when your trying not to be burned alive." I say, brushing soot off my overcoat.

"Zombie, to them we are but tools to enact their agenda. Tell me, do you think it'd be right for me to use my powers, essentially over chaos and destruction, the end of life and hope itself, for other's gain?"

"Depends. But Salt, I agree, once we've all got our powers, we'll fuck shit up for the asshats controlling us."

 

[Captain Anon]

"wait is this using your powers for good or for evil?"

 

[Saltarius]

"No, I mean the Madame outright told me if we go free agent, they're going to try and kill us. As long as we don't make our deaths heroic or just, we'll be fine."

"Good point. But, what if the people we're working for, are doing something really good for people Salt? We'll be fucking them over, making our deaths Just."

 

[Saltarius]

"Let me answer your question with a question. Do you really trust them? Don't give me that 'it's too early to judge' crap."

"Dude, I don't know what to think. It's gotten to a point where I kill what I need to kill. Do I trust them? Not really. But at the same time, we know shit all. We're a bunch of humans, who have only just started learning about interstellar travel. There's a bunch of stuff out in the universe. And we're not even scraping the surface yet."

 

[Saltarius]

"Ironic that I start seeing more once I go blind. Anyways, I think the fire's died down enough. Let's go looking for the others."
