I think he cares much more about Rosaline than any of her "fans" actually would given that she's an ancillary character in a few games that don't really have stories or deep characters to begin with.

You could probably just use a 3d printer to make your own figures, and there are probably 3rd party chips (or whatever) you can use to make them into actual amiibos by now.

Actually I'm pretty sure Nintendo has the specific tech inside the Amiibo's patented. Nintendo tends to do that for the specific tech that they make, which is why you never saw 3rd party GameCube component cables, as the chip that was inside them was patented by Nintendo so no one was allowed to replicate them.

I don't think scalpers in general are doing something wrong (only very specific cases of them), but I guess you take a real issue with them profiteering over others misfortune, so I'll just leave it at that.

Movie theaters have a scarcity of seats but it is a real inevitable scarcity. Nintendo could always mass-produce more amiibos but a theater can't produce more seats to meet demand. That's why in many countries ticket scalping is considered illegal. Tickets have an inevitable true scarcity, while amiibos don't. That's why scalping the latter is legal and the former isn't.
