I'm going to laugh my ass off when Fred Phelps ends up in Hell.

Oh the irony will be so delicious.
Well, I'd have to ask what makes his Religious view less valid than your own?

I applaud this man. Sure people will say that he was still breaking the law, but still. The WBC deserved that and so much more.

Sick fuckers. Those men and women gave their life to give those "Protesters" their freedom and protect them, and what do they do? They spit on them for it and condemn them. If I ever saw anything like that here in Australia, being a Soldier or not I'd knock the crap out of anyone who does such a thing. It's just disgusting.

What do you mean?

Being an all-around dick isn't really a religious view.

I'm just saying that it would be ironic.

as much as I like the idea of them all getting beat into a bloody mess, we have to keep in mind that freedom of speech isnt for speech you like, its for speech you hate
well to be fair its like shouting fire in a crowded theater somethings you just dont say or do like protest the funeral of the soldier that died protecting your right to protest

they died following orders and fighting in a foreign land that, at best, we have dubious reasons for being in, hardly protecting freedom. Now of the died preventing cobra from finishing the weather dominatrix then I can see how that would be protecting us, but as it is they were acting more as a piece keeping force then anything else. And its not shouting "fire" in a theater, sure its disrespectful as hell but its not inherently dangerous to life and limb

I'd have used a paintball gun, with either frozen balls, or with pepper balls.
Of course, I love fire, so I'd rather just burn everything they own and hold dear.
Their church, their houses, their cars, them, all of it, because that's what they are. Things.
And there isn't anything wrong with burning things. They aren't people at this point.

Well, you say "when" he makes it to hell. Which implies that it is certain that someone who behaves in a fashion similar to him will go to hell. As in, there is with certainty, a hell, and you believe in such a place. Also, because you're saying it light heartedly, one could assume that you believe the fashion in which you behave will have you exempt from hell.

Which, gives you an apparent religious superiority over him.

Our troops are dying because of religious extremists, and these people are nothing short of that tag. This is what starts unstoppable wars, religious extremism. This disgusts me, and I hope they pass some legislature on this. Freedom of speech is one thing, but I think the owners of the cemeteries should have freedom to kick these assholes out. 'Nuff said.

Woah, woah, woah, you're reading into this WAY to much. WAY to much.

Saying "when" doesn't imply that anyone or anything is going to hell. The entire point of my post was that it would be ironic if the guy who spends all of his time saying people are going to hell went to hell.

I never said that I was superior to anyone, I never said that I am exempt from the concept of hell, I never said I BELIEVE in hell.

I just said that it would be ironic.

ok.. wow, words escape me on this

I applaud the guy who decided to do something non-violent to stop these racist idiots, people like that need to be stopped quickly - sadly according to other posters they've already bred so it will continue for a while longer.

Seriously, a plan to ambush these morons that their next protest with red pepper -filled water ballons wouldn't go amiss, shutting them up on a regular basis like that would at least spare people's ears their incredibly delusional racism

I agree with the guy above who suggests we need someone who can ignore the laws in favor of dealing swift punishment to people who abuse their legal rights like this- last i checked the laws weren't written so people could abuse them in this manner

WBC did a tour of schools that had LGBST alliance in DC last year, and i got to see first hand their hate. They held up signs showing baby fetuses in burger buns, calling that a homosexuals lunch. They even had anti african american, and anti semitic signs. I am all for freedom of speech, but there has to be some kind of human decency in treating others. And whats worse is they had their kids, some under 10 and a few under 15 protesting and holding the racist, discriminatory, and down right disgusting signs! In the same way showing those signs, and desecrating a soldiers funeral is freedom of speech, i view this mans pepper spraying them to be his first amendment right.

Also the look on their faces when 3 lesbian couples started making out in front of them was priceless. The covered their little kids eyes to "protect them."
isn't a anti african american protest a hate crime?

When they die, I'm going to picket their funeral with signs saying "God Hates Bigots".

sorry i probably should have picked a better example but still soldiers protect us and deserve respect and it doesn't matter whos funeral it is a funeral is a funeral and a grieving family needs to be left alone to grieve

What really pisses me off is that they can do whatever they pretty much shelter themselves behind the 1st amendment.
That's why we, in turn, can shelter ourselves under another, much more fun aspect of US law: aggravated assault.

Headline: brother of dead soldier beats WBC member with bat for funeral protest. Judge has a good laugh and lets him off with a fine.

...I think you've come up with the single most awesome solution for any sort of WBC protest. They love hiding behind the first amendment, so goad the living hell out of them. If they use physical violence, great! Come prepared, respond in suit and wholesale!
