Hello community. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think the military is trying too hard? Why does the US even need more Marines? I want to know what we think.

The Millitary tends to target places that are popular among males around 18-30, since thats who they want. Its like any other ad.

I'm not against the Marines advertising here, it just seems kinda weird. A huge chunk of the users aren't even American. Seems like a poor choice of product placement imho, but whatever.

Considering the large amount of people on this website from outside of the US, I can't help but think its a little misplaced.

Not that I care how the American military spends their money you understand, just saying.

Hm, seems they're running out of people to go shoot children for fun. Occasionally doing something right. (Before critisizing, check internets.)
Wow. Nice job completely disrespecting and devaluing an entire group of people.

Also as a fun fact, 230,000 bullets are fired for every insurgent killed.

You ever fired a real gun? They're not pinpoint accurate, especially not on "rock-n-roll"

Im totally fine with the military recruiting here. Takes up ad space from much more annoying, irrelevant, and downright offensive ads.

But yes, Pub club has its benefits ;)

Look at some of the articles, or watch the vid. Those were the real points.

Ugh good. Someone who doesn't understand how war is fought!

1. "The Kill Team" were Army. Not Marines. Completely different branch. Marines are in the navy. Army are in the.... army.

2. Even if the "The Kill Team" were Marines - it proves nothing. They are a small portion of people that do no represent the real ongoings, actions or thoughts of the Marine Corps or the US Army. For every Marine that hurts an innocent person, there are hundreds that risk their lives every day to save innocent people.

3. In today's warfare, most of the time you can't see where the enemy is coming from. They are usual kilometers away. This is what a firefight in Afghanistan looks like from a soldiers perspective: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBd8Fl6gGdI . But yeah, you'd be able to nail them all in one shot - wouldn't you? Insurgents ambush, fire and maneuver extremely well. They have been fighting for ten years. They know the terrain, the know the line of fire and they know exactly how to remain hidden. They don't walk up to soldiers and fire from 100 metres away in plain line of sight.

The bullets thing was there just as a representation of the "effectiveness" of the war in Afghanistan. And ever heard of a "bad apple"? This time, it's the whole orchard. Also, sorry that I can't be a millitary buff.

I have no problem with it. Although I question the logic considering that, i'd guess, less than half this site's user base is American.

That, plus a good number of users here have Asperger syndrome (myself included) so they're banned from joining anyway.
