I'll take the lull of activity as a sign to fastforward back to base.
The company boarded the transport and flew off back to headquarters. On one of the benches, sat a long black bag. Xandus lay inside it. The ride back was silent. No one dared to speak.

Lux sat with his head lax, and his eyes closed. He sat still and tried to relax. Moloa sat fiddling with her SMG. Verahl was leaning over, bracing his head with his hands. His eyes were closed as his hands slowly massaged his forhead.

When they finally landed back at the headquarters, Verahl went to the bay doors.

"No debriefing tonight... We'll deal with what's happened in the morning."

Verahl walked back to his office. As the company headed down into the common room. Moloa went straight to her room and Lux went to the fridge. Dray and Mayli weren't back yet, or else Dray would have been there to greet them as usual.

Lux sighed and spoke out with a bit of anger in his voice, "I hate when Verahl does this... Why does he have to send Dray out when we get back from a mission! I want a nice cooked steak when I get back, not something frozen."

He wasn't angry at the lack of food though. He was just trying to get some of his frustration of the mission out.

"Calm down you big lug, Why don't you go kill some time on the range or exercise or something," Raven said before heading off to have a smoke. Things had quickly gone to shit today and everybody was a little fried. "If anyone needs me, I'll be on the roof."

That reminds me of a change I wanted to implement on the layout of the headquarters. To use up some of the space of the 2nd level basement's storage, two firing ranges will now be placed in the corner. Just think of part of the storage area being cleared out, and two small stands at farther away from the wall. People shoot from the stands at the wall where targets may be set up.

Meant to put that edit up a while ago, and may change the map to accomidate it... If I can find it.
"Good idea. You up for it Moloa?"

She nodded, and both of them walked towards the stairwell, heading towards the range.

Sal quietly headed to her room. She unloaded her equipment onto the small chair she had in her room and flopped onto her bed. She rubbed the part of her mask that was just in front of her eyes. The day had not gone as well as she hopped but it could have been much worse. Keelah Nothing can ever prepare you for seeing a friend dead. Soon she was asleep.

Verahl sat in his office chair. He was alone now. He blamed himself for what had happened. It was his responsibility to take care of the company and not lead them into danger. When Zachariah died, at least he was the new guy. He wasn't a friend. It made the death all the harder for Verahl to accept.

He should have known it as well. The mission stank of Blue Suns strategy. Hire other mercs to do the job and let them die. He should have realized it the second he saw how many other small companies were being hired instead of larger ones. He just looked at the bottom line though, and figured they were invincible. He made a mistake. One that could have been easily avoided. One that cost him the highest price.

Verahl was filled with anger. His normally cold and precise personally now blinded by sheer emotion. He couldn't contain himself anymore. And in his turmoil, he let some of it out.

He grabbed the bottom of his desk with both hands and heaved upwards. The desk flipped over, and its contents littered the floor. A loud bang rippled through the common room floor below, as the desk hit the ground, with a sudden and violent noise, distrubing the quiet peace that stood a moment before. Verahl was in a fit of rage though, and didn't stop at merely that. He grabbed the back of his chair and hurled it at the door, the bang echoing throughout the halls. He then grabbed the bookcase beside his desk and tore it to the ground. He finally threw a punch at a glass set on a nearby countertop. As it shattered, it cut his hand on several places.

Seeing blood trickle down the side of his hand send Verahl crashing back into reality. He didn't know what had just overtook him. He almost never let his emotions out like this, in such a violent and destructive manner also. He looked over at his now dented door, and picked up the chair lieing beneth it. He placed it right side up, and set it in the centre of the chaos. He walked over to his personal fridge nearby, and pulled a drink out of it. He pulled the cork out and threw it to the ground. No need for cups tonight he felt, and no need for the cork either. He'd be done the bottle before morning.

Ocara heard a large crash from upstairs 'we all have different ways of relieving stress' he thought as he popped another target. He let out a long sigh with the amount of adrenaline he had received that night it wasnt likley he'd be able to sleep for a long time. He reloaded and took aim as another target appeared.

Sal bolted up when she heard the crash. "Boss must be taking it harder than the rest of us." She looked around still half asleep. "Ahh screw it, I need a drink." She said getting out of bed and heading into the kitchen.

Grr... Santius would react to the noise of Verahl's rage, but he's out getting a drink, and if it's acceptable, I'm going to have him return with some information about his revenge plot about the Delphine

If you can find a reason to explain how and why this information would come up and specifically be reasoned to finding it on Omega I'm fine with it.

My general rule is: If you can explain/reason it to make sense, then go for it.

Well, the explanation is the hard part...

Send me what you intend on doing in a message then so I can see what exactly you mean. We'll work something out from there.
Verahl sat on his chair for a while and started to drink from the bottle. He quickly realized though how it wouldn't help the situation at all. He hated to drink anyways. Occassionally it was fine, or for celebration, but in mourning, all it did was make things worse. He put the bottle down beside him. As he did, he saw his hand was now starting to bleed more heavily. He sighed. It was a stupid thing for him to have done. It was immature. He knew it would make him appear as though he couldn't handle himself. Leaders have to be strong he reminded himself. They have to be able to cope with this.

He got up from the chair and made his way down into the common room. He walked into the kitchen area, and started going through cabinets searching for a first aid kit.

Sal sucked down the last of her drink through the small clenser in her mask. She set the glas down as Verahl came in. She glanced at his bloddied hand. He really was pissed. "First aid kit's in the thrid cabinet on the left."

Raven finished his second cigarette before deciding it was time for a drink. Walking into the common room he saw Ver rummaging through the cabinets, hand bleeding and Sal drinking. Shit must have hit them hard , He thought to himself before grabbing a bottle of whiskey and downing some with a quick pull.

Verahl looked up, when he heard Sal speak. It took a second for the words to sink into him.

"Uh... Oh, thanks," he muttered as he grabbed the first aid kit. He placed it onto the counter and opened it up. He cleaned the wound and then bandaged it in little time. He bit the bottom part of his lip slightly, as he applied the antiseptic. It always had a nasty sting to it. When he was done, he flexed his hand a few times under the bandage. He noticed them on his hand, and everytime he closed his fist, he could feel them tugging and resisting his movements.

He sighed and placed the first aid kit back inside the cabinet. He went to the fridge and pulled a cold drink from it. It was a human drink, containing a large number of mixed fruits with large amounts of sugar added. He opened it up, took a sip from it, and set it on the counter beside Sal. He then reached back into the fridge and pulled out one of Dray's meals. He sat down, and had a few bites of the meal before just lightly poking and stiring it around with his utensils.

Raven glanced at Ver, happy that he seemed to be calming down. He moved up to lean on the counter before starting, "Have arrangements been made to see Xandus off," he said taking another swig of whiskey.

"It'll be seen to later Raven, right now I have to worry about the Suns and the Pack." Verahl was back to business now. He was trying to bury the guilt of Xandus under planning his next few steps.

The Suns or the Pack might be hunting them now he thought. The Pack might want to finish them off as a message to anyone else who might work against them, and the Suns might go after them if Tarak gave the order. Verahl pushed his plate away, and turned around on the stool to face Sal and Raven.

"Anything you two want to say about this? What we should do or what's happened?"

"We should try to lay low for a while, try and take jobs that won't get us to noticed, but still get us money." Sal offered leaning against the counter. "That way no one will quit from not being paid, and we won't attract the Pack or Suns."

"Agreed we need to shore up our funds and keep on moving. The Pack isn't very smart, it's the Suns I'm worried about. Do we have any intel on their position in Omega?"

"No, most mercenary organizations like us try to keep our locations generally random and hidden. Hell, look at us. We've renovated an old clinic to suit our needs. Keeps us relatively well hidden. But the bigger ones, the Pack, and especially the Suns, keep their locations even more secret. Sure, they have local bases, but the ones where their leadership is hold up will be almost impossible to find," he took a long sip of his drink and then smiled and continued. "If I knew where they were, I'd probably sell it to the other before charging in their blindly."
