Karnak:

"Exactly, hell, I was worried that drunk mass of muscle and hormones was going to stomp me in the ground. Maybe we should keep him on a leash next time," Karnak said with a smile.

"And don't let me keep you. Probably got places to go to, so don't let me slow you."

Verahl:

"We have dozens of solo mercenary companies like us now owning slices of Omega. People are going to be allying with one another to work on common goals. They understand this as much as I, that if we want to keep holding what we have, we're going to need to make ourselves bigger so we can defend ourselves," Verahl said, slowly lowering himself into his chair. "Or else within a few months, we're going to have a group of companies who did band together, demanding we assimilate or give up or territory, or Aria coming in and taking what's ours."

He motioned with his arm for Raven to sit in one of the chairs in front of the desk.

"If you're wanting this to turn into a meeting, do you want anything at the moment? Tea? Drink?"

Raven sat down in the chair before answering, "I'll take some whiskey if you have some." Leaning back he made himself more comfortable for the meeting. "At least the odds are in our favor for things to come out good for once. What time are we planning on meeting them?" I trust his judgment. If everything plays out accordingly then we will secure our power base.

"Now now, remember man. Think acceptance, I'm sure the others will get used to you and leave you be in time" said Ocara, his voice mock firm for the first part of the sentence but returning to his normal tone towards to end.

"I don't mind talking for a little longer, I don't want to abandon you after that 'incident'" he continued, making jokey air quotes when he said 'incident' and then rubbing the back of his neck out of slight anxiety.

In truth he would prefer to just leave and get to his 'places to be' but he wasn't the guy to abandon a friend, or at least, someone that he was trying to make friends with. Afterall up and leaving, wasn't the way to endear ones self to an individual.

Verahl:

He leaned over to his computer terminal, and hit a button near its side. Within a few seconds, the doorway opened and Liz was standing there.

"Yes Ver?"

"Have Dray bring us some whiskey for Raven, and a bit of tea and some pastries for me."

She nodded and made her way down the stairs.

"Early afternoon tomorrow. A diner near the borders of our district is where we're meeting. It's still our territory though."

Karnak:

"Heh, abandoned? I still got friends on this station, just because I don't have many here, doesn't mean they aren't elsewere, right?" he said with a bit of a grin, but the uncertainty in his voice was clear.

Raven smiled at Liz, happy to have something to drink. "Any chance that the gangs the butcher was talking about would make an appearance. Decapitate the leadership of two companies and take over the district themselves? It seems like to good of an opportunity to pass up." By that logic couldn't a bigger company try to eliminate two potential threats to it.

Verahl:

"Who? Barzan? He's not worried about a serious gang. Few human teenagers, not a real problem. They'll mess around with a few stores and such, maybe cause a bit of ruckus, but aren't really a problem, planning on having Lux help me scare them off."

He leaned back in his chair, it creaked as it followed Verahl's back.

"We're pretty secure internally, don't worry. No other mercs are present in this area, and we wiped out whatever Eclipse had left in this area pretty thoroughly."

"Hey, we'll go out for a drink another night or even just stay here and crack something open, deal?" said Ocara, nodding to Karnak and smiling all the while, as if he already had the bottle to his mouth.

"That's good to hear. The last thing we need is for another deal to go south on us." Smiling, he continued "I think Lux would give those kids a heart attack if he showed up to stop them. If things go well with this meeting then we should have a pretty solid hold over the district then shouldn't we?"

Karnak:

"Yeah, I'll go for that. Enjoy yourself, and whoever you're going to, ask if they have a sister for me, or maybe even a best friend," Karnak shouted as Ocara walked away, happy that at least someone in this company didn't hate him yet.

Verahl:

"We already have a solid district. Alliance simply benifits the both of us. If either of us are threatened, we work together to ensure the others safety. Otherwise, we generally keep to ourselves still. Maybe joint operations occassionally if we both can benifit."

Verahl sighed, eager for Liz to return. He was feeling the need for something sweet.

"Working on negotiations with others around our district as well. The more friends we have, the less likely someone's gunning for us."

"True but there will usually always be gunning for us. Especially if we take control of that top spot, though with our current group we'll be fine provided that certain personalities don't come together in some kind of shit storm." A drunk krogan and a potentially racist batarian as new recruits? How much worse could it get?

"Nah nah, nothing like that" said Ocara as he rubbed the back of his neck once more and then involuntarily sniffed. A look of embarrassment swept across his face for a moment before he smiled, "keep out of trouble you hear?" he said jokingly before he left, off for the awakening Omega night-life.

Fucking sweet! Post 1234!!!

Meer sat around in his seat, lounging as well as a krogan could. The news was droning on his omni-tool. He had no idea why he listened to the news, especially when it seemed determined to focus on the Citadel and nothing else.

"When will the reporters grow a quad and come out where the real action is?" He said to no one in particular.

I realize that most of my krogan's actions have been A) Drunken antics and B) krogan cliches, but I can't exactly do much in my current position.

Verahl:

"You'd be surprised. The stronger you get, the more people are afraid to cross you. And I don't worry about control in this group. Karnak is simply misguided, it's Meer that's the bigger worry."

Liz returned with Dray in tow. She carried the bottle of whiskey and glass in one hand, with a plate with a small pastry on it in the other, while Dray brought a tea with the tea, cream and sugar.

"Ah, thank you," Verahl said kindly, as the two placed what they had carried on the desk.

Keith:

"You're watching Council News, most issues are going to be about stuff happening in their space. I mean, you got a few independent sources in the Terminus region, but nothing big really."

Keith was still sitting on his sofa, with his feet on the table in front of him. He was staring off into space now, hardly paying attention to what was going on around him.

'Stop jumping at fucking shadows!' Ocara scolded himself as he slipped his knife back into his pocket. He could have sworn he'd seen something darting about in his peripheral vision, something making a noise behind him but whenever he turned, he would find... Nothing.

He told himself it was simply a stray Vorcha but that didn't hide what the truth probably was. He was getting jumpy, he was getting paranoid, he just wanted to be inside and off of these damn streets.

After ten minutes his wish was granted. He stepped inside a dimly lit bar and was instantly greeted by the comforting (though slightly sickening) smell of Human cigarette smoke and alcohol. As the door closed shut behind him he knew he was ok and the night would be a good one.

Esten:

Esten stood across from the bar, shaking his head.

Why are you lowering yourself to this.

He sighed and looked back at the cold facade of the bar once more. Even by Omega's standards the place and the area surrounding it was seedy. He watched as people who meant nothing went in, while few came out. Esten looked around, uncertain if he was even in Aegis's district anymore.

He still stood across from it, taking a moment to adjust his armor slightly, realligning one of the pads, before continueing past the bar and down the street, blending once again into a crowd of people he felt no sympathy for, as he made his way back to base.

"Thanks you" he said as he poured some of the whiskey into the glass before delicately sipping the delicious drink. Nothing like a fine glass of whiskey to calm the nerves before a big mission. "I'm sure Lux could restrain Meer if he tries to do anything stupid during the meeting. He should be fine as long as we control his alcohol intake. Which of the members are going to be physically inside the diner while the meeting is taking place?"
