Sal sighed and sat back down. "I don't know how we keep attracting some of the most violent of team members." She mumbled.

Keith:

Keith stood stunned as the Krogan that he was holding shot across the room and into the opposite wall. His jaw fell open by this. He quickly checked his hands, making sure they hadn't gone with Meer. He saw them still held at the ends of his arms and let go a sigh of relief. He flexed them, and felt a small amount of pain jolt up them.

Could have been much, much, worse. I'd have to get prosthetics then, and those would lack the precision these puppies have.

Sal chuckled at Kieths reaction to Meer being thrown across the room. "First time experiencing biotics?" She asked.

Keith:

"No, not the first ma'am. But I still ain't used to it," as he walked wide eyed back to the sofa he had been sitting in moments ago.

Zelios simply watched with slight amusement,He wasn't fond of violence but he was a comedian at heart, and found the turn of events funny,as he chuckled to himself.

Sal chuckled again "Well you'll get used to them in no time in the life of a merc. Even on smuggling jobs I'm sure you'll see plenty of 'em."

Verahl:

"What the hell was that?!" Verahl yelled. The three of them were standing in his office, each of them in front of Verahl's desk as he started his rant.

"I expect better from each of you standing before me," he saw Raven look a bit bewildered at this statement. "Yes, including you Marcus."

His fists slammed into the desk as he leaned over it, glaring at each one.

"Let's start with the one who kicked things off shall we? Meer, that type of response will NOT be tolerated in this company, do you understand me? Under NO circumstance will you let a disagreement fall into physical violence. And don't hide behind your nature or that shit either. Get a damn hold of yourself and don't push yourself to that point again, or else you'll be biting off more then you'll be able to chew at that point."

He turned to Karnak next, their eyes locking more naturally on to one another.

"As for you, act more accepting to each member of this company. I am Batarian as well, and you're representing me in this company also as the only other Batarian. I do not want you setting a bad example. Hold your tongue and don't let these digressions happen again."

Karnak's mouth started to open, ready to make protest, but quickly stopped, feeling Verahl almost daring him to object.

"And that reminds me. Meer, if you have ANY problems with Batarians, I suggest you drop them now. If you speak ill of our species again, I will assure you that the words you choose will be sourly regretted."

He turned finally to Raven, his eyes dropping much of the anger they previously held, and now filled with disappointment.

"Raven, I expect better. If it comes down to a situation where you feel you need to have a gun pointed in the face of a member currently with their back against the wall and ass on the ground, and still feel the need to threaten him, I think the authority of that situation has shifted from you to me. Let me handle more complicated... issues, such as this. They are not your responsibility unless I am in a state where I can not be contacted to resolve them. What you should do is neutralize them if they do come to this state, but more importantly, you should focus on ending them well before they reach that level."

His eyes once again passed over every one of them.

"Am I understood?"

Raven played Ver's thoughts through his head before answering, "Loud and clear Bossman." Leaning back against the wall, he waited for the others to leave so he could question Verahl about the mercenary group they were to meet tomorrow. He's right though. I should have ended it early rather than let them fight it out.

Esten:

The main doors opened for Esten as he walked inside the base. Liz greeted him, though he noted her unpleasant and worried look. That's when he heard Verahl's yelling from the office, and realized someone must have been in trouble. He left Liz as he walked down the stairs into the common room.

"What's happened?" he asked aloud, waiting for anyone to respond to him as he made his way to the kitchen and poured himself some water.

" I think the humans have a name for it, that's right a Mexican standoff, when two people point their guns' at eachother, and they both have the same chance of dying in an instant. Meer and Karnak got into one over... I can't even remember what they were talking about, but Raven broke it up and now the three of them are in Verahl's office, by his mood I'd say Meer and Karnak are getting yelled at." Yossar finished his coffee and put the cup back in the sink.

"By the way, great job with the coffee Dray." He complimented, giving credit where it was due.

Esten:

Esten sighed and shook his head.

"This is why I go out," he muttered to himself, hardly aware of what he was even saying as he continued to drink his water.

Dray:

"Thank you, but it's simply coffee," Dray said. It was nothing he needed to put any effort into, it was simple for him to make. Any of them could make in fact. The only difference they'd find was in the flavor of the beans.

"Its so nice when we all get along, almost like the old days with San and Lux remember?" said Ocara after a moment, hoping to fill the silence that now prevailed over the common room. He'd been tempted to attempt to break them up but what could he have done? Point guns at them? Talk sternly?

Discipline was not his forte, it came hand in hand with the 'nice guy' package.

He waited for the tension to drain from the room, checking the clock on his Omni-tool but otherwise doing nothing.

Meer stood motionless as Verahl made his speech about how they were all to get along. He took offense at claiming that his nature as a krogan was an excuse, but he put that aside for the moment. He tried to pick apart the argument in his head, choosing the parts he could actually retort without being shot.

"Whether or not you think it's an excuse commander, a headbutt to a krogan is what a punch to the arm is to a human. It's not as much violence as it is a way to shut someone up when they won't stop talking. As far as I'm concerned I did Karnak a favor before he dug his little hole any deeper. I don't have any problems with batarians, I have problems with people who judge others based on their appearance, and then try to act like they're no different than anybody else. But I guess you run things differently here, commander."

Thayna laughed and resumed her position leaning against the wall. It had been entertaining to see Meer and Karnak stand off against one another like that, as well as the way the issue was dealt with by the leadership.

"Well, that was fun. Although I was hoping Meer would put him through the wall."

Basara shook his head. "You got the word right, but I don't think that was a Mexican standoff. I personally hope that neither would have actually fired, and if Meer was shot, I think he would have been able to live. I've shot a Krogran 3 times in the neck, twice in the head, and a few more right in the heart and the bastard still charged at me. They've had God knows how many years of evolution behin those thick skulls of theirs. This is why humans invented hypodermics. I swear, if I get put on a team in a mission with both those guys, I'm asking Verahl permission to sedate them if things get out of hand."

He shook his head at Thayna's comment. "Not even Meer, in his most drunken rage, is that stupid. There is a trigger-happy human with hypodermic sedatives loaded, which means no regret, and at least three biotics in this room alone. That should be enough to put him through the wall."

"Well actually if you get the right angle on a Krogan's neck he'll go down. A shot to the heart wont do it, they have like five right?" said Ocara, demonstrating the angles you had to shoot to take down a Krogan with his two talons, pointing in a slightly upwards angle to his neck.

He remembered it well, watching Esten take down the Krogan that charged Verhal all that time ago, he'd remembered the angles and planned to utilise them if ever they faced a Krogan again.

"Still I hope now we can atleast try to get along.... Dammit, I sound like one of those universal acceptance preachers"

Verahl:

Verahl stared at Meer, stunned by the stupidity the Krogan had.

"Did you even pay attention to a single word I had just said?! There isn't a line for crossing this sort of thing! It's a zero tolerance policy! None!" his voice calmed down. He was amazed how the Krogan tried to justify a head butt as simply being the equivalent to a punch, when he had stated there would be no physical confrontations. "I don't care what shit he's spewing, if he's not throwing the first punch you won't, understood?"

His eyes shifted over them a final time.

"Now get out of my office."

Esten:

"There are two areas that leave Krogan exposed for an easier kill," Esten said, as he walked from the counter towards one of the couches in the center of the room. "The brain and the neck. For the brain, a high powered weapon is need. Very high powered. The shot must crack the crest and then the skull underneath. Neck can be done with a lower powered weapon, but equally as difficult. Major arteries and veins must be hit in order for it to successfully work, a number of them as well. However, the sets of them are located in two different places. Krogan redundancy leads to two groups of arteries, not located in the centre of the neck, each slightly off and further away from one another. Force them to bleed out however if hit. The extra heart will work against them in this case, pumping blood out of wounds even quicker, making the few exposed vital arteries more dangerous to them."

He sipped the water once more as he sat one the edge of the couch. He placed the glass down on the table and started to stretch his arms.

Meer turned towards the door, no evidence of guilt or remorse on his face.

"A zero tolerance policy for violence, but a slap on the wrist for racism. I'll never understand aliens."

Meer left the office before Verahl could respond, joining the others, grabbing his Revenant where he had left it leaning on the wall. He hefted it, reacquainting himself with its weight before he strapped it on his back.

"For the record," he began to grab the others' attention. "if you hit any krogan worth his weight in the neck, all you'll do is make sure he dies a few minutes after you do. Now then, when do we actually get to kill something?"

Basara shook his head at Meer. "Not against Esten you don't. I don't care if you're wearing Battlemaster armor; If I were to throw a cherry in the air right now, I bet Esten could shoot it without even slightly injuring me. At close range, I would probably win, but the second I got out farther than 25 feet, I might as well be an ant trying to fight God." He turned to Esten. "Remember the Agori case, Esten? I pretended to give myself up. From about 2 miles downrange, Esten took out the slave-handlin' bastard, right in the eye. 3 more shots took out the guys who had their guns trained on me. Hate to give the guy such a big ego, but I've never seen him outsniped."
