Verahl:

Verahl paused for a moment, continueing to eat before responding. Once he was finished, he knocked the frosting off of his fingers and onto the plate. He took a sip of his tea, and then looked over to Raven.

"You, myself, and... Zelios or Ocara. They shouldn't be sending anymore then three or four, so we shouldn't bring any more inside then that. Lux will keep the others around the diner, acting as support if we need it," Verahl said, nodding, it was the first time he said their actions aloud, and it sounded fine to him. "Any other questions?"

Santius was first sitting in the corner talking with Yossar and the new Batarian merc Karnak. Karnak and Meer, the new Krogan played by CJ, got into a fight. Raven broke it up, Verahl gave each of them a lecture. Ocara's also snuck off.

Also, read Page 33, Post 1148. It essentially gives a brief overview of what Omega is currently like. Also have a meeting tomorrow with another merc organization, to discuss an alliance.

I think that's the gist of it. Either going to post skip ahead to the meeting tonight or tomorrow to the meeting or at least the morning if no one else posts in the next while.

Meer was still waiting around in the Common Room with the others, unsure of what to do with himself. He considered going for more ryncol, but his head still hurt from his match with Lux. He sat up from his chair and looked around.

"This day is taking too long." He growled. "Do we have an extranet terminal around here? I'll go play Galaxy of Fantasy, kill something virtual since apparently everything in this damn district is off-limits."

Raven looked at Ver, happy to have a clear and concise plan for their meeting. "No that about covers it. The planning is sound and Lux will be able to keep everyone in line in case we need them." Sipping his whiskey, he continued "Based on what you've told me though I doubt the local gangs will try anything with the amount of fire power we have."

Verahl:

"No, they won't be," Verahl said, nodding to reassure Raven that they wouldn't be a problem.

The room was silent for a few seconds, Verahl adjusted himself in his seat.

"Well, if there aren't any more concerns, do what you want for the rest of the evening. We have what?" Verahl quickly checked him Omni-Tool. "18 hours until the meeting? Make sure everyone gets some sleep and is prepared for tomorrow evening."

"Roger Bossman. I'll get the grunts ready." Pouring himself some more whiskey, Raven left the room at a slow pace. Things are really looking up for Aegis right now aren't they? Raven was shaken from his thoughts as he saw Karnak coming down the opposite end of the hallway in a clearly foul mood. I wonder if Verahl's yelling session in weighing down on him?

Karnak:

Karnak froze as he saw Raven walk out of the office.

For fuck's sake, just had a cigarette. Better not give me any damn trouble...

His head instinctively started to lean to the right, as he started walking towards Raven and the stairwell.

Raven nodded his head to Karnak as he made a move to pass around. I think I need to smoke one of my cigars. Hopefully he won't make this in to some kind of scene. "Hello Karnak."

"You didn't get a terminal in your room?" Sal asked Meer from her chair. "If not I'm sure we could rig one up real quick."

The rest of the night passed, as everyone went about their business. Karnak made himself scarce for the night, practicing his sparring and marksmanship in the training room by the storage. Verahl had upgraded it since their return, by placing sand bags and a mat for them to spar with. The small range was still set up, but it's practical use was starting to dwindle. They had to move closer to the targets in order to fit the mat in. Keith went down to the storage floor also, but kept to the workshop. He tinkered for a few hours on his inventions before finally falling asleep in the hammock he had set up down there.

---

The morning came with the smell of eggs seeping into each of the barracks. Dray was up cooking breakfast while most of the company was still asleep. He was even singing softly while he did it.

Esten was awake as well, but had shut himself in the armoury to avoid the singing. Dray's constant happiness annoyed him.

He's 16, and he still doesn't have any real skills. Does he really think he's going to stay here for the rest of his life, simply cooking?

The lack of purpose Dray had in his life bugged Esten. While several Salarians would be going out to work or study at his age, Dray mostly stayed in the base, only to go out shopping or getting up to cook food.

Verahl was also up awake. He had gone to bed early the night before, trying to make sure he was at his best for the meeting. He had locked himself in the armoury with Esten, as the two checked the weapons, to make sure everything was functional and ready.

Another target received a perforation and Ocara sighed as he ejected his thermal clip, letting it fall to the floor with a clatter. The range was getting on his nerves, he didn't even need to use the scope of Nag to score a head shot on the furthest target, something that on the old range would have taken slightly more effort and possibly a use of his scope.... Not often though.

Still his challenge was trying to shoot whilst his stomach, mouth and throat felt like they were ablaze. He'd felt like that ever since he'd arrived back at base, even a hearty session of 'stealth throwing up' in the toilets didn't settle his stomach and so three hours since he'd gotten back, he still felt like crap.

"Never again" chuckled Ocara to himself as he set down Nag respectfully and began to take shots downrange with his pistol.

*THUD*

*CLATTER*

A groan echoed from the workshop. Suddenly a small shriek of surprise also shot out.

"Get off me buddy!" Keith said as he pushed the mech off of him. The sound of the rifle going off had woken Keith from his sleep so suddenly, that he had fallen from his hammock, onto the table below him, knocking the mech resting on it off, and then finally stopping when he hit the floor.

He slowly got up, sliding the mech across the floor as he did, before his head was finally seen peeking up over a workbench.

"Why do you need to practice so early in the damn morning?" he moaned, upset about his rude awakening.

Keith:

"I'd think you'd be a better shot if you got more sleep instead," grumbled Keith as he rubbed his eyes, trying to wake himself up. "You have any coffee Santius?"

Thayna slowly woke up and spent several minutes staring at the ceiling, not thinking about anything in particular. She didn't move until she felt her stomach rumble slightly. Sitting up, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood up. Heading to the bathroom, she cleaned herself in the shower before pulling on her armour and making her way into the common room.

The smell of eggs greeted her as she entered the room. She heard Dray singing softly and smiled to herself. "Morning Dray, is there anything to drink?"

Dray:

Dray smiled as she walked in.

"Morning Thayna, plenty. Juice? Tea? Coffee? What are you in the mood for?" he said warmly and welcoming. He was happy to help fill any craving she had.
