Once Verahl had finished his breakfast most of the company had eaten theirs. He had another cup of tea and waited for everyone to finish before addressing them all. He stood at the end of the table and silence soon fell amongst them. He gripped the end of a chair as he spoke.
"Tonight's contract is our biggest one yet. We've been hired, along with two other mercenary groups to protect five trucks coming down from the docks to an undisclosed location near the bottom of Omega. Aside from where we start, I have almost no idea what we're going to be guarding, where we're going, and who we're going to be protecting it from. The employer has paid a lot for privacy and we're giving it to him. What these trucks are transporting I can only guess, but with the amount of security being placed on them, it must be damn important. The other two companies will be taking the first, second and third trucks. We will be taking the last two though under our authority. Each truck will have its own driver as well, and a few of the employers own in the back of each ensuring we don't try anything. The employer did tell me though that we should prepare for the worst. He said he's made a lot of enemies over the years, and if anything happened to this transport, he'd be ruined. He guarenteed me we'd be ambushed at some point during this mission, and that even thinking this would go off without a hitch would be delusional. He knows why he hired us though." Verahl now started to grip the chair even harder, and his speech became more passionate. "He knows we're some of the best damn mercenaries this station has seen. In the past year we've had a perfect operational streak, gaining so much and losing so little. He knows that with us the safety is guarenteed and that with us, the words failure or screw up are non-existant."
He paused, letting what he said soak into the company. Everything he knew now they knew, and he was trying to make them realize the stakes of this mission.
"When we're done with this mission, each of you will be recieving 5000 credits. 5000 credits you will all earn. We'll be leaving for the docks in 12 hours. If any of you are interested also, a friend of mine will be showing up in the next two. He's a gun runner, and will try and acquire whatever you request before tonight. Until then, I'll be in my office. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please visit me in a while, but for first, Sindri you're coming with me. The rest of you are dismissed."
Verahl made his way to the stairs and then turned around.
"C'mon Sindri, this is important."
