Masters, A Pokemon RP(CLOSED) Chapter 7: Out of the Woods.

[Lost In The Void]

Duncan had spent most of the day visiting with his mother, but as the sun began to sink into the horizon, he knew that he needed to find Magnus. Taking out the phone he had bought in Violet, he dialled Magnus's number and held the receiver to his ear.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

Both Trainers and their Pokemon ate their lunch happily, glad to be able to relax like this. There was much conversation among the Trainers, many stories told by the brothers and the niece, as well as those told by the guests as well. The Pokemon got along well, playing and eating, and getting along. Things were peaceful...

After the group had eaten their fill, they sat and talked for the better part of an hour. It was good to reminisce with family and friends... Heck, Magnus was even comfortable enough to tell some of the stories from his Kanto journey.

Magnus phone began to ring softly, and he picked it up, looking at the screen to see the caller ID.

"What's up, Duncan?" Magnus asked his friend. "Are we keeping you waiting?"

"Ya I as thinking we'd head to the Gym," Duncan heard chatter from the other end of the phone, "I'm in an itching mood to battle and Houdour's with me on this one all the way," Houndour could be heard barking happily, "So you think we should meet at the Gym then?"

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"Yeah, no problem." Magnus said to Duncan over the phone. "See you in a bit, man."

Magnus hung up the phone, and turned to his fellow Trainers.

"That was Duncan, we're gonna meet him at the Gym in a bit. He's really wanting to beat Bugsy.. and to be honest, I'd really like to battle him as well."

"Oh! Can I come and watch?" Beth asked her parents with the cute-eyes of a pleading child. "I want to see how Uncle Magny battles against Uncle Bugsy."

"I don't mind babysitting the little kiddo." Magnus said to his brother and sister-in-law. "I'll make sure she stays out of trouble."

"Go ahead... It'll be nice to have a few hours of quiet. Give Farrah and myself some quiet." Matt said to his brother with a not-so-subtle wink.

"Alright... Come on guys." Magnus said, getting the group ready. "Beth, go get your jacket, alright? We'll be walking for a bit."

"Got it!" the young girl left to get ready, and Magnus returned his Pokemon to their pokeballs.

"Everyone else ready to go?" He asked, pulling on his jacket.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

The Trainers, and Magnus' niece, Beth, made their way to the Azalea Gym to challenge Bugsy. Beth was well-behaved, and walked close to her uncle, and his Pokemon. Magnus texted Duncan that the group was on their way to the Gym, and that they would meet him there.

"So..." Magnus said as the group was finally was within sight of the Gym. "Who wants to challenge him first? I mean, after we get past the preliminary Gym Trainers. Who wants to go for Bugsy first?"

Vandal hissed threatening and buzzed his wings. Sylas hadn't bothered to recapsule him, since he was getting so pumped for the fight.

"We're going first." Sylas said, starting to enjoy Vandal's aggression for once. This will be a match to remember.

"Alright, then." Magnus said to Sylas. "You can have first crack at him... I suppose Duncan may already be battling him when we arrive, or will arrive shortly after us, in which case he can go after you."

Magnus opened the door to the Gym once they had reached it, and walked into the Gym. Inside, it was practically a forest, with a leaf-strewn grass floor, and strong trees crawling with Bug-Types.

"It's been a while since I've been here, last." Magnus said as they walked into the Gym. It was warm and humid, perfect for Bugs to thrive. "I guess we should wait for Duncan, then?"

Duncan arrived right behind Magnus and his group, riding Ponyta so that he wouldn't be late, "Alright so from what I heard, Sylas is going first then? Good I want to see what Bugsy is made of first before I fight him," he walked into the Gym with them, seeing all the bug types around the Gym area.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"There you are, Duncan." Magnus said when their friend appeared shortly after them. "I was wondering when you would get here. Come on, let's go see Bugsy."

Magnus, Duncan, and the rest of the group who was there (Brandon being off somewhere else) went through the door to where Bugsy was.

"Hello? Bugsy, are you in here?" Magnus called out into the woodsy room. "We're here to challenge your Gym."

"Well, look who it is..." A light tenor voice said from above them. A young man, hanging on to an Ariados, descended from the trees from the Ariados' web. "Good to see you guys."

"Hi Uncle Bugsy!" Beth called out to her mother's brother. "I'm here to watch!"

"Oh, hey Beth. I didn't see you there." Bugsy addressed his niece, as he let go of the Bug-Pokemon and landed on the ground, his purple hair swaying as he stood up. "Come on out, boys and girls!"

The other Bug Trainers came out of their hiding spots, ready to battle the challengers before they could challenge the Leader.

"Beth, are you gonna be cheering for Uncle Magnus, or for me, when he and I battle?" Bugsy asked her. "Or for when Duncan and I battle, which of us will you cheer for?"

"I'm gonna cheer for you, Uncle Magnus, and Uncle Duncan!" Beth said cheerfully. "I want you all to do your best!"

Brandon was groing impatiant. He had heard Lilly had the egg a while ago and now they were "running asome tests" as they but it. C'mon there can't be that many can there? He thought as Lilly finaly came out of the back rooms still looking tired, and the Nurse Joy caring the Egg wrapped in a blanket. "Good to see you pulled through." Brandon said with a smile as he hugged his pokemon. "Yes she did a fine job, heres the Egg, make sure you take good care of it." Nurse Joy said handing the egg to Brandon. "Thank you again. C'mon Lilly you need some rest he said as Lilly was abosrbed into her pokeball. "The others must be at the Gym by now." He said to himself walking out of the pokemon center and to the Gym the Egg still in his arms.

Sorry it took so long to post, couldn't really think of how to pull this off, but here it is.

"Wait, we're both Uncles?" Duncan said in shock, "Magnus you didn't tell me that this was your niece..."

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"You never told me that you and Bugsy were... cousins." Magnus said to Duncan after figuring out the shape of the family tree. "So I guess that means we're cousins by marriage, then."

"Huh. Cool." Bugsy said, realizing the fact as well. "But, if you guys want to challenge me, you'll have to beat my Gym Trainers. Girls, you can take two of them at once. How many challengers do we have today? "

A pair of twin girls, about fourteen years old, each grabbed a pokeball from their shirts, with another pokeball on standby.

"Each Trainer will use two Pokemon..." The first girl said.
"And it will be a Double-Battle." The second girl finished.
"Choose your partner." They both said at the same time.

"Okay... Who all wants to take the challenge?"

"I'll take you." Sylas said. Vandal stepped up and dropped to a fighting stance.

"Did you say you were going to join this, Magnus?"

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

"Yeah... You and I will double-team the girls..." Magnus said, then started smirking and laughing. "Oh... Ahahaha... That sounded better in my head. Yeah, let's go."

Magnus sent out his Onix, Bore onto the field, standing tall next to the Scyther.

"Ladies..." Magnus allowed the twin girls to bring forth their own Pokemon... Which would be, of course, Bug-Types.

"Volbeat.."
"..and Illumise.."
"..swarm for battle!" The girls called out. They sent out their Firefly Pokemon to battle.

"Let's kick some ass, Sy." Magnus said to his battle partner.

Illumise (Female, 18)
Kakuna (Male, 20)

"Now..." Bugsy said, before commencing the battle between Magnus and Sylas, and the Twins. "Do you guys want to just watch, or does someone wanna battle right now? Oh, and you can start, girls."

"Sy, you go ahead and attack first." Magnus said to his friend. "Vandal is many times faster than Bore, you go in quick, and I'll hit'em hard."

"Alright. Vandal, start with a Wing attack."

The scyther buzzed and leapt forward, flying low over the ground and swiping the Illumise with his wings. It rocked over to one side, and Vandal veered around and hit a second time.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

After being struck by the Wing Attack, the Illumise was nearly out for the count, but managed to send out a strong Water Pulse at Bore, the Water attack doing some heavy damage to him. The Volbeat buzzed forward, its fist sparking, and attempted to hit Vandal with a powerful Thunder Punch, but was unsuccessful and missed.

"Bore, use Rock Throw on the Illumise." Bore brought down his powerful tail, slamming into the Bug-Type Pokemon, knocking it into a tree.

Sylas had Vandal go in for another Wing Attack on the Volbeat, which managed to get a good hit on the Pokemon. The second Twin returned her Illumise, and sent out her Kakuna, which managed to stick Vandal with a Poison Sting.

Bore slammed his mighty tail down again, and knocked out the Volbeat with another Rock Throw. The first Twin called back her Pokemon, and sent out a Metapod to battle.

Vandal hunched over from the poison, but furiously charged the Kakuna. He sliced across it's body once, then growled at it as the poison continued its work on him. The kakuna used a string shot on him, tangling around his limbs. The other girl's metapod joined it, doubling the trapping silk on Vandal. He quickly fell to the ground under it.

"Alright, that's enough." Sylas said, calling him back. He tossed out Duchess and said to her, "Use Rapid Spin."

The sandshrew curled up and skidded across the ground, slamming into the kakuna and clearing the field of silk in the process.

 

[Mookie_Magnus]

Magnus called back Bore from the battlefield, as the Rock Snake Pokemon was quite weak at the moment from the Water Pulse that had been released. Magnus grabbed another from his belt pokeball, and called out Garnet to battle.

"Ember, on the Kakuna." Garnet unleashed a flurry of embers at the Pokemon, hitting it hard, and giving it a nasty burn. The Metapod leaped up, and hurled itself at Duchess, latching on to her with it's jaws, giving it a nasty Bug Bite.

Once again, Garnet released a flurry of embers, hitting the Metapod critically, and knocking it out.

With only the Kakuna left on the field, weakened and burned already, Duchess wound up for the finishing blow. She stood on her hind legs and launched a string of star-shaped rays at it: Swift. The stars found their target invariably, knocking out the kakuna.

 

[Caimekaze]

Rhiss applauded, with Sneasel.

"That was great. I haven't really seen many battles before; they're really fun to watch!"

She paused, hesitating. Looking at her pokémon, she turned to face the group of trainers.

"I'd like to challenge one of you. I've never fought a trainer before."
