I have the feeling this one would be pretty good since they could take their time and build off of the lessons of the first one . But, because some people are so set on hating it on principle. The dlc could solve all the problems in the world and start a golden age for mankind, and all you would get is complaints by these fans that their cure-all vaccine's aren't the right color.

To summarize, in case the wiki isn't clear. The Prothean VI(or the starchild, I can't remember which) states that every race that has fallen to the reapers has found the plans to the Crucible, and every single one of them improved upon its design.

WHICH MAKES NO SENSE. How do you improve upon a device if you don't what its supposed to do? And for that matter, who originally designed the Crucible? Did they intend for it to do what it did? How did it go through thousands of tweakings to it's design without losing its original function?
Actually it does make sense, the races in the cycles before likely figured out its use too late to finish it themselves, but wanted to give those in the next cycle the best chance of defeating the reapers and by looking thoroughly through the designs they must have found flaws in the design, or upgraded/different technologies could simplify processes that would have had more failure points, it's a bit like wiring circuitry.

As for the OP, I'm moderately optimistic for the DLC

I read through the indoctrination theory, or rather watched a video explaining it for the first time, and it actually makes quite a bit of sense. There seem to be less illogical inconsistencies within it... than the actual ending. So what I hope... is that it's true, all that crap was a dream or some shit and then he wakes up (depending on what decision you make) and get to play through the real ending... or watch it or whatever.

Of course, if its true then that means bioware (probably EA really) planned this all along, which is fucking disgusting in itself. The massive outcry from fans about the shitty ending was probably the only thing that made the extended cut free, if that's the case.
Which would mean the destruction option is the only right option. All the people who chose blue or green are fucked. :p

But the current cycle had no idea what it did until they pressed the power button, and they actually had the time to build the entire thing. And it's explicitly stated throughout the series that the Reapers left technology behind to ensure every cycle developed the same technology at roughly the same rate, so there's little sense in another species both figuring out what it did and being able to improve upon the design before they were able to build it to completion.

And they can't have built it to completion, because even if the Crucible isn't built right, its still shown that it destroys all of the Mass Relays when activated.

I just want more crap to happen on earth. So much build-up for such a quick few missions.

Also, please let us talk to Harbinger. I want his opinion on all of this mess.

But I'm setting my hopes and expectations low, that way I won't be disappointed.

Needs a conversation with Harbinger, full stop. I was sorely disappointed that he didn't have a single line in the whole game. I was fully expecting to hear him speak at the end...didn't utter a single syllable. :/
Seconded.

Hell, I was expecting a full-on mission inside his frame in which the squad violently rips apart every exposed wire they can find before coming face to face with a horrible, incomprehensible, twisted eldritch abomination from when time was young that is harbinger's core
(such as http://i47.tinypic.com/6eky77.png, only less human, more horrifying nightmare creature).

Fuck what people said about the human reaper and Saren, I loved Bioware's boss fights :*(

Yeah. I picked blue... but it made the most sense to me given what endings we had at the time. Destroying all synthetic stuff would pretty much cripple civilization given how much its relied upon and the green option just seems silly. Within the context of indoctrination though, the red seems the most obvious choice.
Well, I'm a stubborn son'*****, so even before I knew what the IT was, I was completely

"I come all this way to kill the reapers and you ask me to NOT kill the reapers? I'm doing what I came here to do. Fuck that! In fact, FUCK YOU!"

I then proceeded to shoot the star child for like fifteen solid minutes before finally opting for red.

There's still the issue of Buzz Aldrin. The hell was that about? Inbreeding isn't a viable source for creating a colony.

Mostly I just hope it's mediocre. Not horrendous or incredible. The ME3 shitstorm lasted long enough, and tomorrow it's all gonna be dragged up again.

Will it be good? To some
Will it suck? To the majority (or vocal minority, whatever you want to call us)
Will it deliver as promised?Never trust what Casey promises. LOL fools.
Will it add even more layers of obscurity to something that's already nigh impossible to comprehend? Probably.
Will it provide adequate explanations for things now? Doubtful
Or will we simply be subjected to more cases of "lolspacemagic"? I know I will.

I have pretty strong opinions about the ending. The extended cut is a good idea; I am glad they are working with fans. However, it just seems that the utter disregard for what the first game established bit the franchise in the ass. A proper conclusion could only have been done by the original author. What if Stephenie Meyer wrote the conclusion to LotR trilogy, rather than Tolkein? You get my drift.

Something I hope for (probably in vain) is that the ridiculous plot holes at the very, very end are filled in.

How'd your squad get back on the Normandy?
Why was Joker running away?
How'd the victory fleet get to their respective homes?

Mostly the non-sensical three choices need to go or have Shepherd challenge the irritating entity in question more.

That last one is not a plot hole.
Thank you, Cpt Obvious.
It's still something I want changed or explained.

Being a person that just finished ME2 recently and haven't picked up ME3 yet I haven't payed too much attention to this whole MacGuffin but I'm hoping it'll be good for when I do start playing it. :)
It took me a long time to figure out what your avatar was. Then I felt really stupid.

OT: I'm hoping that there is no internet rage about it. Seriously I got sick of going to websites only to see "OMG Mass Effect 3's ending is totally crap" thread topics. I'm hoping thats not too much to ask.

It won't be good.

It will do what it says it does: Add 10 minutes of clarification and closure per playthrough.

From what I've seen, it will rely on weak scripts to get this done, such as
Hackett ordering the fleet to fall back to the "Rendevous" point, seeing as he somehow knows the Crucible is armed, and it would seem Joker just complies - which is the exact opposite attitude to what he has in ME2 if you let Shepard die.
.

Predictions:
None of the space magic will be fixed. No option to refuse the Starchild's claims will be added. Barely any additional display of War Assets in Priority: Earth will be fixed.
None of the big problems with the ending will be fixed. It will be the same sh***y choices, same sh***y Catalyst and same sh***y ending.
Not much is going to change. I'm honestly not seeing this fixing much.

Why? This is one of the complains that I don't really get. Do you think it didn't occur to most of those ships that it was probably a one way trip? I mean, yeah, it's not a one-way trip in the way they were probably expecting, but I don't understand why the concept of "You were a big damn hero, now you get to starve to death" is such a problem with people.

It's rather simple, really. Turians and quarians die to starvation first. Later, krogans eat everyone that's left over. Humans get extinct, but other races at least had some folks left back on their home planets.

I mean, who needs a historical account *snicker*

Or the aborted dark matter arc becomes the second deus ex machina, I dunno.
