When you get down to it, the only reason that slipknot got blamed for the incident is to take the responsiblity out of the parent's hands and to give the news something to keep people watching

I worship Satan and scorn God/Christ in the way that Christians worship God/Christ and scorn Satan.
I don't mean to drag this discussion even further off-topic, but are you saying that you accept the Christian faith, but would prefer an eternity spent in Hell rather than in Heaven?

Yeah, Slipknot is far from Satanic. This is part of the reason why I have so many problems with America. I try noot to be prejudice but then something like this happens and they blame it on music... I just can't help but genuinely believe that they are all stupid. It is certainly not Slipknot's fault for what happened and they don't deserve the blame (even though I want them to just go away and never darken musics door again) and neither do any other bands that don't praise the lord every other line.
This wasnt even in the States, fool. Try harder on not being prejudice.

Wait... painting faces and stabbing people with swords... I'd say blame William Wallace on this one.

Seriously, I don't want to hear about it. Compare the immoral lyrical content of your average rap song with that of most "satanic" metal band and, yeah... who is a bad influence here? At least blame a band that's ACTUALLY satanic or something. I could at least buy the notion that listening to too much Impaled Nazarene inspired someone to murder but Slipknot? Listening to too much of that I'd probably just stab myself.

You might want to change that to "widely accepted to be immoral" instead of immoral. Sorry, I'm fussy when it comes to things of that nature.
I do agree with you, I made a post about banning R 'n' B because of all the knife-crime in Britain on the last page.

I think I'll leave it as is, really. But that's just my opinion. Just because alot of people might thing stuff like that is "cool", hardly by any stretch of the imagination makes it right and proper in a civilized society.

" Young people need to be informed of the effects of bad Satanic music," said Eksteen.
Exactly. Why the hell would you listen to Slipknot? Now, if you want to worship Satan, Behemoth is the way to go.
I personally don't like Slitknot; may I say, their music sounds so.. EMO. I listened to a few of their songs and I could just imagine the singer crying his eyes out. Like DeadlyFred said, any influence Slitknot gives would only want you to slit open your wrists. Now, onto behemoth. From what lyrics I've read, along with personal commentary by the band themselves, I definitely agree. They've commented about ruling the universe and shit like that, and everyone is a slave, and blah blah blah. I listen to bands like Behemoth, Gorerotted, Cradle of Filth, and Meshuggah. Show the lyrics to any song from any band I've listed to a hardcore christian, and they'd try to "save me from the eternal damnation of hell". I listen to truly dark and heavy music, and yet, lots of my friends and acquaintances all agree that I'm the nicest and most polite dude they know.

To anyone who noticed I changed slipknot's name, congratulations. I've officially decided that I will always refer to them as SLITknot.

To anyone who's wondering:
I am not christian. I am not religious. If I told this to any christian, they would most likely assume that I'm a bad person. And then I say, "Ha! If there's any bad person in this situation, think about this. There are critics who say a movie is 'Five Star', and if anybody objects to that, they would be deemed mentally deficient and should be removed from society. Who is the bad person in this situation, the critic or the person with a different opinion from the critic?"

thats not satanism yo you might as well worship the ghost of buddy holly
do sum research on your religion
I've read a fucking 100 pages on it. It does not say you have to pray to satan, infact I'm pretty sure satanism finds prayer to be useless........either that or confession, it could be either or both.
Again, Krugersdorp is in South Africa. It's the South African media that is attacking Slipknot on this one-- not the Americans.
why do I feel as if this is a crappy movie.
For further discussion on my views and Satanism, it might be best to create a new thread.
*looks to see if one has been made*

I don't see how anyone would prefer heaven. If heaven had everything I enjoyed here on earth I might want to go and I'd still hate god for being such a pillock.
You just gave me the BEST DAMN IDEA EVER!
are you a chick?

The boy had painted his face black and resembled the drummer of the band Slipknot
Joey Jordison doesn't paint his face black.

Slipknot sing about Satan now? When was this album made? Have they brought out a super-secret 6th album out already?
I listen to slipknot and I'm slightly religious. I don't think they resemble satanic music in the slightest of way apart from the song "the heretic anthem" which has the number of the devil in it but it isn't shouting out go stab people so alas they must be hiding something.
I agree, this is so stupid. He probably wore the mask for a mask to hide his face, if he wore a Barney mask I'm sure the media would blame the damn dinosaur. I'm a huge fan of Slipknot & they're definatly not satanic. As you mentioned even the heretic anthem isn't about satin it's about being different
