Im looking forward to the new Arch Enemy, The Absence, Mors Principium Est and Necrophagist albums.
Have Necrophagist got a release date for that yet? I hope Mohammed does something about his vocals. They're decent, but hearing monotone cookie monster growls for a whole album is not good. Plus the lyrics are painful.

I pretty much love every sub-genre except black metal, because I don't belive make-up and metal is a good thing. But honestly I love melo-death (Children of Bodom, Kalmah)and metalcore the most, well maybe just As I Lay Dying.

Love Kalmah. If you like melo-death, have a listen to The Absence and Mors Principium Est.

I am sort of new to the REAL Metal genre, I've always had a thing for the harder side of music.
I listen to a lot of Joe Satriani in my non-metal time, and when it's Metal time, I listen to Stigmata(New Jersey, Christian, Supposedly Thrash Metal)
Anyway, can anyone recommend a Metal band with lyrics that won't scar my Psyche?
I don't need it to be all hugs and happiness, but First I am a Christian, so no Satanism, and if the music has a message akin to "I hate the world, kill everyone, Eat babies, steal dreams"
I am not really interested.
I have found that my only Metalhead friends are exclusive to Screamo and Metalcore, both of which focus on vocals, I listen to Satriani for a reason, I love the electric guitar.

give demon hunter, the showdown, Extol, Zao, becoming the archetype, war of ages, destroy the runner, and Rob Rock for christian metal just about all of them fit into the metalcore genre with the exception of Rob Rock which is power metal. As for bands that don't fall into the christian realm but don't rail against it either scar symmetry, Mercenary, Stolen babies, soilwork, Kamelot, avantasia, ed guy(though admittedly some might say a few select songs might fit into the crude category), Dragon force,Ayreon hope this helps.

Name pretty much any sub-genre, and I can find a band that I like. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Behemoth and Sepultura.

I've been enjoying Behemoth a lot lately as well. Have you listened to the EP they released recently? The songs were quite simple, but still pretty good.

I miss Pantera. They were awesome. Mostly now listen to Pantera, Black Label Society, Motorhead, Metallica and Megadeth.

Thanks, I couldn't see the reply for some reason, now that I can I thank you.
Oh, real quick, Stigmata is from Nebraska, or Iowa, reports conflict.
And the link is here
http://www.myspace.com/omahastigmata
I find that I cannot identify their style, but THEY are exactly what I like, if you know something that is like it, please hook a dude up.
thanks

I just got a copy of Origin's Antithesis album, and I must say, it's one of the best albums I've ever heard.

I thank you, Dave, That is the closest anyone has come yet, I am still listening to decide if they are my style, since the first song isn't always the best.
