Not really a metal head even though I listen to quite a few metal bands, one of my favourite bands out of all though is the almighty Black Sabbath. Even after Ozzy left Tony could still write some great riffs.

Others I listen to often are Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Tool, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, Pantera, A Perfect Circle and Dream Theater. I listen to other metal bands but not so often.

LOL, are there other vids of this band on Youtube? Any other songs you'd recommend?
Well "Keep on Galloping" is pretty cool, and the video clip sort of has this storyline, it's pretty cool:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9JJdVPhlLg&feature=channel

Also "Wooden Pints" is a pretty awesome tune with awesome lyrics. Plus the way the band plays their instruments in the music video is hilarious (check out the guy playing his one drum)

My favourite bands would have to be (and three favourite songs)...

Anaal Nathrakh:
In the Constellation of the Black Widow
When Humanity is Cancer
Genesis of the Antichrist
Woo! Finally something that not everyone knows!
Also, they are absolutely brutal live! :D

But yeah, im more of a Doom / Melo Death person these days.
I listen to a lot more than just the brutal stuff, I like a lot of the more synth/keyboard metal. Hell, I'll listen to anything. I'm a big fan of film soundtracks. I'll even listen to Daft Punk.
But I'm metal at heart!

Pantera is a metal standard, of course.

Meshuggah
Faceless
Aeon
Helloween
Amon Amarth
Obscura
Necrophagist
Suffocation
Vader
Krallice

If you're looking for something new, I'd try Anaal Nathrakh, Tyr, or Animals as Leaders.

The majority of major metal bands I'd recommended to a metalhead with general interests in the genre have been posted already. I've stopped listening to metal exclusively, as I grew bored of the tiny emotional range of most bands. That being said, I can still enjoy and respect most things metal.

Most recent favorites would be: Aghora, Cynic, Atheist, Racer X, Darkthrone, Blotted Science, Behold... the Arctopus, Daath, Between the Buried and Me, Strapping Young Lad, and Katatonia.

Several of these are tech death. Tech death is awesome. My shortest recommendation is find an album from the first three artists I listed.

Bands that have been a constant for me throughout changes to my musical taste are all pretty mainstream. These bands include, but are not limited to: SOAD, Opeth, Slayer, Death, Cynic, Ensiferum/Wintersun, Iron Maiden.

Welcome to the escapist, enjoy our thriving metalhead community. We even have a group http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/chat/Escapist-Head-Bangers

I don't claim to be any kind of true metal fan or anything, but the bands I like the most seem to have some metal roots.

Alice in Chains
Soundgarden
Tool

If I ruled the world, everybody would listen to Behold... the Arctopus

I wouldn't call myself a metalhead as such, I split my listening between metal and rock. That said, I do love metal, and listen to it now a lot more than I used to. I listen to all sorts:
Slayer
Metallica
Opeth
Mastodon
Alestorm
Baroness
Black Sabbath
Down
Pantera
a bit of Dream Theater
Howl
Iron Maiden
Meshuggah
Paradise Lost
The Sword (they're great!)
Witchcraft

I'm probably a more "tame" metal head for appreciating the classics.

Led Zeppelin
Iron Maiden
Black Sabbath
Megadeth
Metallica
Dream Theater
Pantera

And as for newer stuff...
I was a fan of in flames and Children of Bodom.

I still like in flames, but I find children of bodom to be retarded these days.
