Good, I am not sure what bothered me more about that game the fact that the women were like lizard people wearing human skins (plus odd clipping issues) or the fact that you played as thing from the Addams family. I mean Kinect: "Thing's College Party"?

Isn't AO simply the 18+ rating? Meaning including games like say, GTA? Great to hear Microsoft is completely throwing the technology's potential away for the sake of it's marketing scheme >.>

It's funny how these things work. In Europe games like GTA are released as 18+, which is all fine as long as someone in the UK doesn't decide that the game needs to be banned entirely. Manhunt 2 ran into this problem, although it's possible that we don't have to worry about that happening anymore now that the UK has accepted PEGI ratings for video games.

Anyway, yeah, in the US games like GTA are released as Mature/17+, despite that they really should be adults only. This is because rating a game AO/18+ is essentially the same thing as banning it, because the most important distributors wouldn't carry it, and all the console people (Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony) have decided that they won't allow them to be released.

It's utterly retarded how the system works in the US, but that's how it is.

Yeah. I can't exactly blame Microsoft. They would stand to lose a metric shit-ton of sales if word got out to the 'Concerned Mothers' that you could do that with Kinect. Because people are idiots, and can't tell the difference from a hack and unauthorized 3rd party software from actual software you can get anywhere. Just look at the whole Hot Coffee fiasco.

Oh my God the Hot Coffee fiasco. Once I found out the details of that, I couldn't believe that anyone would be upset. Worse still when I actually saw what it did. I mean 15 years old do worse with their girl friends.

Also, didn't someone claim Rapelay should have been stooped by the ESRB? Completely ignoring the function of the ESRB and just what the game they were talking about was. And there's always the whole Mass Effect fiasco.

I doubt the "informed" media would allow this to pass without creating a shitstorm.

Family friendly, huh? Meaning your your games can be played by anyone of any age? BULLSHIT! You can claim casual gamer status all you want Microsoft, but I have three titles that will blow the "family friendly" argument clear out of the water: Halo 3, Gear of War 2, Dead Rising. Seriously, you're going the same route as Nintendo by abandoning your core demographic in favor of people who before now couldn't be arsed to even look at a game console, much less play one, and this is not a good road for you since you don't happen to have the safety net of Shigeru Miyamoto to keep our respect.
