Yes, I lasted 6 months before I burned out. I have not played in quite a while.

I'm desperately hoping the Adventure Update can rekindle my interest in Minecraft. I can't bring myself to enjoy it as it is. :/

Had a blast playing with a few friends back when survival MP was new. We built ourselves a little village, improved on it some, yadda yadda yadda. Then we all grew bored, as we had everything we'd "need" in the village. None of us are patient/skilled enough to build the insane stuff people do. I just hope the Adventure Update makes something other than building a viable, enjoyable playstyle. The bits I've heard do sound promising, though.

I couldnt agree more -_-

I have played for a long time, well before multiplayer was out. I was always playing SP then, talking to people on skype who were also playing SP. When multiplayer came out I never really touched SP that much. Still don't. Played for a long while on SMP, had my preferred server. Eventually got a mod spot, then got Admin, which was nice to start with but took the fun out.

I sort of lost the drive there, but then convinced my friend to buy it after I got banned from the server I was Admin on because the owner went insane and banned half the server. Teaching him to play brought back the feeling I had when I first started playing. We server hopped, eventually finding one we liked. Stuck with that, convinced another buddy to get it. Both of them are now addicted to it. I see what I once felt about Minecraft in them and it inspired me to get back into it. We ended up buying our own server and are building it up for an eventual public release. After that two more of our friends bought MC. I feel like sort of the elder, teaching them all of what I know.

I never got any "thrill" from it to begin with. It just seemed like a long, boring grind with no reward to me.

That said, I've had nothing better to do than re-build Imperial City from TES: IV for the past month.

I really don't like MP, so I only play SP, and while simply playing the game is no longer very fun for me, I've found fun in insane challenges like the Super Hostile Series, awesome mods like the recent Aether Mod and making my own mods.

I have. I am really jealous of all these people having fun in SMP servers with their friends and building awesome communities.

I'm stuck in singleplayer and it's boring as shit.
Why are you stuck in SP?
Yeah, I did pretty quickly. My dad still finds plenty of enjoyment in it though.
Because I don't have any friends to play with
Jump around a few servers until you find one you like, stick around and you will quickly find some friends to play with.

I never really understood the "thrill" in the first place. The game just kind of seemed boring overall and didn't have much of a point to it, like WoW. Think I'll stick with Super Metroid when I want to explore.

Nope, I have not lost the thrill yet. Then again, I only had the game for like 2 weeks. I am still expanding my fort, still exploring an unimaginably huge cave system, and I still plan to explore the rest of the world and build more forts across the map. And I just recently found a survival multiplayer server to play on. And I haven't even used any mods yet. Completely vanilla.

So I will still be playing minecraft for quite some time.

with all the music playing
you mean the incredibly depressing piano?
You find it depressing? I find it very uplifting and poignant.

OT: Bought the game played it for a day or two. Stopped. NOT because I got bored, but because I accidentally lost my world.

So I don't play it now. I will start when they release it in full form. That way I won't be sick and tired of it then.

No because it started to crash every minute, making the game unplayable. I've sice given up on it.

I still enjoy minecraft.....occasionally.

I don't really get the same sort of feeling that I used to when I first started playing though. In my first world I spent the entire day building an accidental castle, dug down into the earth as far as awesome ore's and build some epic structures including a mud castle in the sky and a giant roller-coaster.

But now when I play I get really bored unless it's an adventure map or a new patch, and even then it doesn't last for long. I think part of the reason is that I discovered you could just hack in whatever you need instead of having to go digging for it, and to be fair if you can magically spawn yourself 1000 diamond in 10 seconds the game sort of loses it's magic.

I could remove the mods but then I'd get bored of having to mine everything.

Right now I am bored with minecraft, but if I could find a good multiplayer server, I would play again.

My minecraft thrill is still as strong as it was when I started playing, back in infdev I think. It's incredible to me that I can sit and play a game consistently for that long without getting bored, but honestly there are so many ways to play and so many things to do, I mean I can go build or design something or make redstone do crazy shit or do some monotonous strip mining or just explore or survive the night or anything at all, depending on what I'm in the mood for. I've played it every day for I can't remember how many months, and it's never gotten tiring for me. I still get scared by creepers or dark caves, I still stare at the scenery in awe, I still love the hell out of this game.

EDIT: Oh, and I've never been on a multiplayer server, so if I ever do get bored of singleplayer I always have that.
