Ah! i see your point now and i agree with you. given what type of contest this is, if she doesnt win its merely because she wasnt the best cut of meat. and if she wins its because her swim suit had the least fabric per square inch.
Ok since we both believe we're being reasonable it's obvious that we both have either a differing opinion of such degree that it wont be resolved - fine- , or all the semantics involved is clouding our original points of view.Cheeze_Pavilion said:No, you not understanding what I'm saying is causing you to think I sound as blinded as those people who are aggressively against gay rights.Sphinx86 said:Ok Cheese your not understanding what I'm trying to say and your beginning to sound as blinded as those people who are aggressively against gay rights.
She made it clear that she meant no offense to anyone. All she said was it was "her belief" that marriage should be between a man and woman. She didn't say anything about anyone else, just stated a personal opinion that really shouldn't have been expressed in a public forum, which is how she got screwed.Cheeze_Pavilion said:She was basically saying that not only does she like meatloaf, but that everyone should like meatloaf: they didn't ask her if *she* wanted to be in a gay marriage, they asked her what she thinks of gay marriage in general.
How do you think you believe something?chronobreak said:I don't know if anyone else has been following this, but here's the link:

"When asked by judge Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."
Now, that was not the most poignant answer one could expect from such a studied woman, but some say this answer cost her the contest. I, for one, would tend to believe that. I mean, why would they even ask her that question with an openly gay gossip writer as a judge? What do y'all think?
Thanx for assuming only one religion speaks about God. I'm a Taoist Christian. Yes, the Bible is a disaster. Yes, the Tao Te Jhing can be read from an atheistic point of view. However, there are other options including the belief in God and evolution with strong philosophical backing.Cliff_m85 said:Evolution can be observed and tested, God cannot. One is something that obviously exists, and God is something that most likely doesn't. Evolution was written about by a man who understood science and put factual evidence into his book, God was written about by many men who continuously made scientific mistakes and historic lies into their book with a fear-based belief system.Infiniteloop said:How is evolution and God mutually exclusive? It's not.
