Modern warfare 2: "Gaz" and "Ghost"

Because I can guarantee you that the guy who designed that cutscene did not expect him to survive.

It's a IW in joke that Ctp. Price comes back no matter what happens. In CoD1 he has badly injured in Austria, after which he travels back in time and heals himself, for which he gets transferred to the SAS and promoted to captain. Then he dies onboard of the Tirpitz, after which he resurrects himself, stays in stasis for about 70 years and rejoins the SAS at his current rank. I wouldn't be surprised if he wakes up in a morgue again and asks "where do i get promoted to now".

That explains the ridiculous facial hair. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if he were actually fighting since the first world war. Maybe even since ancient times 0.0 dun-dun-duh.

Perhaps Gaz has become like robocop with a partially cybernetic skull and he is a "ghost" of his former personality and self. Okay I admit it, I've never owned any Call of Duty game but I've played COD4 so I can at least guess.

We can rebuild him, we have the technology, but he'll still block the damn doorways.

Damn team kept blocking the stairway when I was trying to get Mile High Club achievement. I was cussin those guys somethin' fierce...

Gaz is definitely dead, you can't survive a 50. to the head. Griggs got popped in the jaw, somehow he might be alive. We don't know if Price is alive or not.

People have been shot in the face and survived (eg 50 cent)

50 was shot in the jaw and definitley not with a Desert Eagle.

Price may have actually survived. It was hinted that he survived since there was a medic working on him. Even the Call of Duty Wiki belives that he survived.

I am aware of that, but I believe it would be far more fitting if he didn't survive, that he died a soldier's death.

Gaz was shot point-blank in the face with a Desert Eagle.
Cpt. Price was being given CPR by a Russian soldier, who seems to fail.

I agree with you on that since the russian soldier slams his fist into Price's chest out of frustration.

Oh and FYI, to me it looks like Gaz gets shot in the top of the head not in the face. Although still at point-blank range.

To answer the other question, YOU were taken away in the helicopter, not Price or Gaz.

Its good to hear someone else had trouble with them, everyone else I've spoken to says I'm whinging.Glad to hear you got the Mile High, got 100% now?

Yeah, 1000gp! The other hardest bits were getting the tutorial in under 20 seconds, Heat and No Fighting in the War Room... that one was mind bogglingly frustrating.

But yeah, the friendly AI were a total liability getting Mile High Club because they would block your path and make you waste precious seconds trying to get past them, and when you did you would notice that they HADN'T FUCKING KILLED ANYONE!

In Xbox magazine they said they're is some speculation that captain Price is going to be in the next game.

Has flash back written all over it.

The mission will be a flashback of the flashback. You will watch through Soap's eyes as he watches and listens to Price tell the story. Exciting, amrite?

Maybe this new character is Gaz's ghost. Because, you know, why not?

Or he's called Ghost because he really is Gaz who is supposed to be dead.

Totally calling that the thing starts out without a peep to the mention of Cpt. Price, or maybe a vague reference or cut scene leading you to believe he dies. Right when you and your buddies get in a bind or something like that and he shows up as some special guy that you know only as Ghost prior to this part who saves your ass. He stayed secret and hidden for a reason, etc...

I always thought Price was alive because of Mile High Club level. It WAS an epilogue meaning what happened after the story ends. Maybe I just don't play CoD4 Campaign enough...

At the end of COD4 you get a photo with Sgt. Vasquez, Gaz, that black guy and Capt. Price in it. All the characters in the photo are dead. Sorry.

Captain Price is a recurring character in CoD despite decades between settings. So it's no surprise that he'd be there. Gaz can't possibly be back, so possibly a flashback mission?

I thought the black guy was Vasquez.

Vasquez was the guy you played in the Marine missions, IIRC.

I think they might bring Price back, even if just for a cameo, just because of the fan's reactions to his "death." I wonder if they left his fate intentionally vague in CoD4 to see if people wanted him back in the next one or not.

Do you honestly think an American game would have you play as a marine named Vasquez, of all names? The guy's name was probably Johnson, Smith or McGenericAmericanSoldier

But still, there's that little niggling doubt that the Mile High Club wasn't just for shits and giggles, and actually happened.
