Unless it was set during the Bush years?

"Christian Science Monitor"?? not too long ago christians murdered hundreds of scientists most of who were devout christians.
Not to mention the entire concept of science was 'heresy' against God. I think this world would be better without religion.
ye i totally agree, the history of all religeons is stained with the blood of millions of innoscents

When I saw the white house part, i jizzed a little

I don't see the big deal. So realistic looking soldiers dying in gruesome manners is just peachy, but a house getting takin over and partially destroyed is too far? Un-fuckin-believable.

Isn't Christian Science an oxymoron? Anyway, I thought that Infamy trailer was BADASS. The ability to storm the US capitial and free the white house(I assume, unless they nuke it like in mw 1)from foreign invader really intense.

Jeez, a bit quick to complain before we even know anything about the game...?

Trailers can be pretty deceiving. Besides which, why is it ok to let players engage in realistic battles in "photo-realistic" world war 2 fights, but not ok to produce a modern replica of a fictional battle?

EDIT : 4444 th post =)
Hmmm... reminds me of the whole H.A.V.E online controversy we had I while back. Except that was at least was a cause for legitimate outrage. They completely copied (or so it seems) TF2!
All the Christian Science Monitor have is the images of burnt DC which apparently their Patriotic hearts just can't handle(by the way it happened before in US history too so I'm interested on what they would say if this game wasn't fiction and had to do with the war of 1812.) all that's left is to sprinkle a little 9/11 in there and bingo you've got your perfect American movement against video games founded upon ignorance. Please Christian Science Monitor let us nerds -the ones who buy the games- make the decision on whether or not this is just so immoral, that is all.

So it's fine to have capital cities in Europe burning, but it's too far if we have DC burning? I think they should just quit whining and look at the game for what it was: freaking awesome-looking.

I would have expected something from Faux news by now. I guess they figured out gamers would always bone them in the ass after Mass Effect.

it seems like a lot of people on here have some kinda issue with the way the United States views themselves. I agree that the CSM did overreact cuz MW2 is gonna be sick but im just sayin, as a member of the United States Marine Corp, we are better get over it, and if you cant I would like to see you do somethin about it. otherwise, just sit down

Sure, it's a bit unpleasent to see the Capitol of your country in flames, but this opens new avenues of gameplay, not just for a different enviroment than "middle eastern town" or " eastern European forest". It allows for a greater emotional impact as well.

I'm american myself and I don't really see the problem. One: It's Fiction, get used to it cause it's not going away. Two: It's not like you're attacking D.C. you're "saving" it goddamn it (I assume). Three: Believe it or not, America isn't a godly entity of freedom that can't be destroyed, it's just a country.........bottom line.

so...? No really... so what?

WWII has been done to death, I've relived more battles in world war 2 than most of the soldiers did. Yet, its ok to depict the events that happened in this war, yet, an attack on D.C, which too my knowledge, has never happened as it is depicted in this trailer is... going to far?
ermmmm....ok.....

Well, considering there are probably at least two politicians there, I'd say it'd be a net gain.
your being too optimistic. the first step of any politician during a national crisis is to get the hell out before anything bad happens.

Oh, when a Russian town/middle eastern town (wth was that anyways?) gets the holy living hell blown out of it's fine and dandy. But when we see a building blown up IN AMERICA, shit just got real!

In my opioin it is perfectly fine, as other posters have said, it's mostly european cities we see destroyed. Also if im correct wasn't their a lot off Battle Scenes attacking major US Cities in World In Conflict being NYC?

Im looking forward to go into a Battle torn Washington DC as it will make the change from EU cites. The only cities i would think it would be too far to look at would be Dresden, Hamburg.

Well, I'm pretty sure that people who actually matter, or have any interest in MW2 found it incredible. There's very few things more Epic, than a war on American soil.
