seems like some of you are taking this a bit too seriously, and reading past certain areas of the article. I say that Fable 2 was a disappointment in terms of what was said about it and what actually came out in the end, so on that basis, I will just ignore any Fable 3 info and nonsense from here on, until the game is a few days from release, that way I can't really be as disappointed as I was with Fable 2.

But seriously; no HUD? What about mana, hmm? How is one to keep track of that?

Wasen't there no limit to Mana in Fable 2?
Are you implying that Fable 2's combat worked well?

...But maybe thats because I tend to avoid a lot of the hype going around.
You, sir, are a good example of what the internet should be; instead of putting too much faith into commercial products.

Fable 3 wil allow you to play with children... I think I'll give it a pass.
And why are all games doing away with the health bar? Whats wrong with it? Apparently its unrealistic... but healing from injuries by standing still for 5 seconds is completely realistic? Wtf?

Seeing as the guy made a note of 'removing an element of RPGs' to streamline things, I imagine that the thing that would piss us all off would be the exclusion of experience points and leveling. Instead of gaining experience through beating bad guys over and over again, you only get upgrades through the narrative itself. RPG fans who like to level grind would surely be pissed, as would the Fable fans who want to actually customize the character's skills and abilities. But you don't get much more streamlined that having the game fill in the blanks for you.

Just my own little prediction.
I love it when I'm (somewhat) right.

There are other new features that Molyneux revealed, such as weapons that will change both a character and themselves depending on how they are used. Using a certain kind of sword might make your character thin and tall, while killing a certain kind of monster will cause the weapon itself to become spiky.
So a long katana might make you scary and silver haired, while a massively oversized and heavy sword -- a "buster", if you will -- might make you brooding with spiky yellow hair?

I can think of some people who'd be down with that...

Maybe this will finally be the game that breaks Peter Molyneux? Maybe people will stop buying his games and reviewers will stop throwing good scores at his feet? I mean, if I had a nickel for every time I got into an argument with people who said, "Fable was a good game," ... well, I'd have 10 cents. But maybe they would start to listen to me if Fable 3 was a complete flop?

On the flip side, I'd also be happy if this game turned out to actually be good, and fixed all the things wrong with Fable (never played 2, so forgive me if my information is spotty). Frequent load screens, shallow combat, buggy gameplay, too much customization in things that didn't matter, too little customization in things that did matter, shit-for-brains NPCs, awful dialogue, near non-existent story, a world that was somehow linear, cluttered, and empty all at the same time, and probably a few more.

So I guess my opinion evens out to, "I don't care." Maybe?

Jesus Tom, couldn't find the larger picture of Molyneux? My psychologist will have you to thank for my nightmares.
Anyway, jesting aside, I myself wouldn't mind seeing less junk on my screen when playing an rpg. Or having to take my eyes off the action so to tell if I need that healing potion or not. I've lost a couple good battles in WoW from that.(Yes, I'm stingy with my pots. They aren't that easy to come by for me. :p )
I guess animal sacrifice wasn't enough, now we can either be kind or cruel to children. I think that's the part that leaves an ill taste in my mouth.
Yeah... KINDNESS towards children? I feel like im going to puke...

just remember folks this guy makes A LOT OF PROMISES that he CAN'T KEEP so please take his word with a grain of salt eh. Nothing he ever said turned out the way he said it. The man's ambition out weighs his team's abilities to develop

peter molyneux is a retard with a hard to spell name
I'm not even surehow to pronounce it. Is it, "molly new" or "cock sucker"? I can't decide.

Why is this industry getting populated by douchebags? From Sid Meyer and Miyamoto and so many of yesteryear and then you have this guy and Bobby Kotick. maybe the douchebags are just getting more vocal and we're starting to notice the 1%.

What he say's and what happens are two different things, He's like a used car dealer spouting features like leather seats(Co-op) which in fact were just rusty lawn chairs with belts for straps( That tethered henchman nonsense). All I want in fable 3 is fun and not become an overpowered god that kills enemies via laying my controller on the desk and rolling my face against the buttons to great success.

But seriously; no HUD? What about mana, hmm? How is one to keep track of that? And having a weapon that can be molded from Play-Doh based on how it's used? What if I want to use it for tax returns; does it turn into a goldfish?

I know it seems like I am "pissed off," but I'm more pissed off about why these changes to a game should even matter. And being able to abuse children? Who wants that?! (Yes, I know Yahtzee pointed that out in his review.)
I'm sure someone has ninjaed me but there was no mana in Fable 2. You could cast spells forever without running out of mana or magic or whatever.

I just wonder if it's a simple shove or a smack or something like the parents of say the 1950s would do to their kids before making your kids follow the rules went out of style.
I don't know. They haven't said dick about Dante's Inferno yet, despite EA's best efforts.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Well, looks like it's safe to assume at this point that Australia sure as hell won't be getting Fable 3! :)

Child makes fun of old lady who falls over.
You punish said child with light flick on the ear.
Michael Atkinson: "OH MY GOD, IT'S A CHILD TORTURE SIMULATOR! QUICK! BURN IT! BURN IT WITH FIRE! PROTECT TEH KIDDIES!!
A little off topic I know, but can you explain to me (and everyone else) how Australia works exactly when it comes to banning/allowing games? The rules seem pretty dictatorial for a democracy. Thanks.
The sad part is that is more or less how it works in Australia.
