"...Peter Molyneux has yet to grasp that not everyone gives a shit." --Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw

But seriously; no HUD? What about mana, hmm? How is one to keep track of that? And having a weapon that can be molded from Play-Doh based on how it's used? What if I want to use it for tax returns; does it turn into a goldfish?

I know it seems like I am "pissed off," but I'm more pissed off about why these changes to a game should even matter. And being able to abuse children? Who wants that?! (Yes, I know Yahtzee pointed that out in his review.)
I'm sure someone has ninjaed me but there was no mana in Fable 2. You could cast spells forever without running out of mana or magic or whatever.
Yeah, someone did tell me that, and I already admitted to be wrong on that.

go back and read the OP again,
now, tell me what you know about the actual game? no HUD? the ability to punish children? slavery? weapons changing appearances? NONE OF THIS IS THE ACTUAL GAME! these are gimmicks that moneylux makes it sound like a game.

and slavery would make a good sim game, or a good fantasy RPG game, but not in fable.

I cannot be dissuaded from the conclusion that Peter Molyneux is an addled, disturbed man. Not that that's really a bad thing; his unique brain chemistry is what made Black and White, Fable and Fable 2 as fun as they were. Still, he seems to be saddened and disturbed by the lack of these bars and whatnot, and expects gamers to be saddened too. It is not so.

Of the many complaints I've heard, that the controls, HUD and menus were "too simple" wasn't one of them. Simplification in an RPG, as a general rule, is a good thing. Every step away from Microsoft Office Accounting territory is a good thing, Peter.

"hardcore RPG fans that require experience points in all of their RPGs"

I don't think anyone who considers themselves a hardcore RPG fan would have ever thought of Fable 2 as an RPG anyway.

OT: Can't say I'm interested at all, for 2 reasons:

1) I played Fable 2

2) Its Molyneux again, who the hell trusts anything he says anymore?

Essentially, nobody. That's all his "Pie in the sky" goals are for. To try to drum up some hype for an average action RPG (See Fable 2). When people finally figured out that promising amazing features didn't actually a good game make, Ol' Petey quickly fell from being "That awesome bald dude who made Black and White" to "douchebag" status. If Project Natal doesn't suck, my mind will explode.

OT: I couldn't care less. I never bought the Fable 2 (I did play it though) since it looked like a rather average RPG with some morality systems that were desperately trying to come into the level of Bioware games' choices. They failed.

Hmm... I wonder how many of these will be implemented well?

Im going to say very few.

My cynical attitude is stopping me being intrested, also some of these features sound like there using Natal, and im not paying for a glorified eyetoy.

I was about to say the same thing. As someone who considers themselves a... softcore RPG fan - I don't think I've joined the ranks of hardcore, but I have played my fair share - I might have called Fable 2 an RPG for lack of a better term, but it hardly rose to that level and it was awful besides. If a game was a horrible RPG to begin with, why do I care if they knock out some of the RPG elements. They could turn Enchanted Arms into a racing game and I'd be hard pressed to find any negative emotion over that.

I also fail to see how any of this "news" is all that interesting. At this point, we know nothing about Fable 3 the game and only a few things about Fable 3 the smoke screen. Insignificant aspects of a game cannot carry your attention through thirty hours of mind numbing boredom. Who cares if my character gets skinny when he carries a longsword if I am fighting my umpteenth kobold for no good reason. Who cares if I can punish children if every quest I'm given is about as exciting as a stale bagel.

Peter Molyneux could say he eats dirt and craps out sunshine for all I care. This is the old fool me twice adage here. He has to actually win me back with a good game, hype won't cut it anymore.

But yea larger more interesting world for sure
and please no manditory Natal control even if the game is bundled with it.

Where's the part that'll piss me off?

(It's probably gonna be the fact that the game won't live up to all the hype Molyneux is going to build up)

Oh Molyneux. Why the hell are you making creep sims lately? I mean, look at that Milo game. Now in Fable you drag peasants to be sold into slavery, 'punish' (I'm assuming he means spanking) or play with children? Lord...
I want to make my character look like Mr. Kimura (or however that's spelled) from Azumanga Daioh. That way if and when I do those things the guilt of doing so will be assuaged by the hilarity of it.
I'd want mine to look like Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy, and yeah it's Kimura.

Sounds like it might be an improvement, maybe... but this is Pete we're talking about here, waiting for the game.

I think most gamers with respond to that news (or anything else that gobshite spouts) with complete apathy and disinterest rather than anger.
Quoted for the god-damned truth!

Sooooo... anyone actually have plans to play Fable 3? Me? Not so much!!
Me not so much either.

Wow, sounds like Mr Molyneux will stoop to any level to try to bring a little life back to Fable... I'll say the same about this as I did for Fable 2, everyone will rush to buy it, it will have a few perks that will make the game bearable, and after about a week of playing people will trade it in because it will get boring. I don't see why he'd get rid of the Hud either, I don't see any problem with having one. I prefer it actually, since its an RPG, Imagine Fallout 3 with the 'Red Screen' style health bar, it would just be stupid. Also, I'm all up for a little freedom in games, always makes it more replayable and exciting, but why must he stoop to the level of beating kids? Oh yeah Yahtzee said he should thus Molyneux has to put it in the game... I wonder, if Yahtzee said we should have able to strip naked and teabag the kids, and skull**** randomers in Fable 2, if Molyneux would put in Fable 3. Just a thought.
