Only two games have ever made me come truly close to tears, and those were Mass Effect 2, the ending of Miranda's loyalty mission, and Half-life 2 episode 2, the part that doesn't need to be said.

Honorable mentions to several parts of Fallout 3 (Liam Neeson, NOOOOOOOO!) and the ending of Metal Gear Solid 3, just because I felt sorry for Snake. Honestly though, I didn't give a shit about "The Boss" as a character until that moment, and I'm still a little lost on the actual reasoning behind all that. So if Volgin HADN'T done that stupid/pointless thing then she wouldn't have had to...ahhhhh, forget it.

That moment while I was playing TF2 and realized that I had been burnt to death by pyros in half a second for the 10 000th time, after that I thought to myself: Wow, and I actually liked to BE the pyro a couple of years ago...

Isara's death, Valkyria Chronicles. Very powerful scene, for some reason.
Good that I wasn't the only one, I was almost screaming "NOOOOOOOO!!" when the shot hit...

Brothers in Arms (Road to hill 30/Earned in Blood/Hells Highway)
When Allen and Garnett died, when Leggett shouted "TAAAAKE MEEE!" before being shelled by a tank, When Desola got hit by a bomb from a Stuka, When Frankie died when he tried to save the girl, When Baker had to tell "Red" Hartsock that "Red" was now disabled and couldn't walk again...

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
When Ray shot his religious brother when he was unarmed (you have to see it)

The endings in MGS 3 and 4

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
When Midna goes through the portal/mirror thingy and shatters it so it can never be used again

Infamous
The part where you get the choice to either save Trish or six medics, AND the part where you find out that Cole and Kessler are the same person

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
The time you die by a nuke after crash-landing. When Gaz, Griggs and (what looked like) Captain Price died in front of you. When Makarov kills you. When Ghost and Roach gets shot/killed and burned.

I guess being a HSP (highly sensitive person) and a gamer makes a lot of moments like that in games...

Methinks there's been a thread like this before...
Anyway I'll just answer how I did back then: I have never cried because of a game. I felt extremely sad at the end of fallout 3 before the DlC. And a couple of times in episode 2 i was like "WHAT?? NOO!!" The end of inFAMOUS also left me feeling kind of sad. I really felt for Cole. : ( And of course the good endings in both Bioshock games. Especially the good ending in the second one. I'm sure I'll think of some more, but right now that's all I had.

Hearing that just cause 2 does not play on XP. I DON'T NEED THAT GAME! IT IS NOT AN OBSESSION THAT WILL HAUNT ME FOREVER! I'm done now. What, are the devs just not able to make it run DX9? Crysis warhead runs primarily on DX9 and its graphics are Waaaaaaaaay better.

Not obsessed...[small]not obsessed[/small]

Almost made me get why manny had to work at the DoD.
Nothing was coming to mind, despite the fact that I know I've teared up over games before, and you had to go and post that. I'd forgotten. Oh that was a tough thing to watch.

Recently, the film Moon made me teary eyed. That was heavy stuff. But videogames wise? hmm. The end of Halo 3 was somewhat emotionally draining, but not in the crying kind of way. It just hit me with a sense of "It's actually over". I don't count ODST or Reach, much fun as they were/are going to be, but as the Master Chief's story goes, it was the end of a five year journey for me. The music, the setting, the Arbiter surviving while the Chief makes the near ultimate sacrifice to end it all.

Seeing
Bill's
corpse in the Passing in L4D2.

That brought a single tear to my eye.

It was sad.

The scene in EVO Search For Eden when the meteors are striking the earth, really sad music play and you see the beaten corpses of the dinosaurs as they are pummelled by the falling debris. Then the camera slowly fades to black on the styracosaurus and her baby that you fought so hard to save and she died protecting the baby, who dies anyway. yeah, makes me cry every time.

Tears of sadness?
No.
A single tear of awesomeness?
Yeah, a few games managed to do that.

The Valkyria Chronicles ending. I don't know why but the ending was so goodie-goodie it made me shed a tear or two.

The good ending in Metro 2033 made me tear up, for the first time in my whole life. It's just...*sob*...so happy! And after so much s**t!

An on a tangentally related note, the ending conclusion to Overlord 2 made me drop a cluster f-bomb.
