Pretty sure Weird Al gets the original artist's blessing before he goes to town on their song.

A lot of the posts here seem to be pointing out things known as "samples". personally i hate the use of them because i think its a lazy way of filling out a song but its not really tune stealing since most of the time the original song is credited.for me the biggest tune stealing would have to be coldplay viva la vida taking from Satriani if i could fly

And all of them are stealing the chord changes from Bach. Ahh well.

Such is the way of pop music in its various forms.
Good ol J.S.B was notorious as a user of power cords and riffs and was known to his close friends as "The shredder".

Erm the only one i can think of off the top of my head is

Sweet home Alabama

Werewolf's of London

Was ruined by kid rock

Probably Harder Better Faster Stronger [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cYWfq--Nw] by Daft Punk and Stronger [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jzSh_MLNcY] by Kanye West. It may not be a complete rip-off, but it steals the main tune of the Daft Punk song.
Stronger was a song that both parties worked on.

The original intro riff for Asher Roth's "I Love College" was stolen from Weezer's "Say it Ain't So". From what I read on the internets Asher had to go and change his intro once Weezer found out.

Kid Rock's American Badass is exactly the same as Metallica's Sad but True.

And lets not forget almost EVERYTHING by Puff Daddy. Seriously, that guy doesn't dersrve his fame.

The Flo Rida Go Down song. The worst part is, most people don't even know that it was an 80's song in the first place. If that's not a sign that society hasn't reached a new low, nothing is.

Oh, wait! I know a sign! That someone who named himself "Flo Rida" is popular nonetheless not in a mental institution.
He did the same thing to "You Spin Me Round" I believe. It makes me rage with the fury of the Angry Sun.

This isn't really an example of people stealing from each other, it just shows the ridiculous number of songs that use the same chord progressions and basic melodies.

Holy shit. That's incredibly cool, though not all of the songs fit perfectly ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight" stuck out particularly).

Also, the guy's version of Take On Me made me laugh my ass off.

Props to Axis of Awesome.

The Four Horsemen by Metallica (1983) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4nCy5CITc8

Mechanix by Megadeth (1985) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0esBAj3ZoaY

Preferred if they just made a cover because I prefer The Four Horsemen.
To be fair Mustaine did actually write that song so he`s kinda entitled in fact `tallica used to play mechanix too before they re-wrote the song

No, I actually think Vanilla Ice said that it was different because Under Pressure goes "bah dah dah dah dah dah duh. Bad dah dah dah dah dah duh." and his song goes "bah dah dah dah dah dah duh, ba bah dah dah dah dah dah duh."

Yeah...
Yeah.

You clearly can hear the extra note in the Vanilla Ice song, so they must be completely different.

Oh snap! Your god damn right! It's his song!

Hmmm this requires some thought.
